One of the reasons why I mine Bytecoin is that it require less energy to mine this coin than Bitcoin.
So, Bytecoin is more ecological coin than BTC. IMO, it's an important advantage in the area when environmental issues have risen to the fore

Agree

Well, nowadays Bytecoin is like Bitcoin in 2009 - it's up to date coin which is true anonymous and recently have got more user-friendly interface with gui wallet.

Technology evolves over time and now there is CryptoNote Technology with its ring signature and private keys which make transactions even more anonymous. Indeed, BCN became more friendly to new users as gui wallet has appeared.

Do you know there is "Cryptonite XCN is the new software for completely anonymous and untraceable transactions" ??

Is that wallet legit?  Don't see much info about it anywhere else.

Edit: Crashes upon opening

Good question. IMO,it's legit but there is a dispute about its name cause it was already used by another guy so it leads to misunderstanding using the same name for another project

Keep calm. Just not the best period for BCN. It even has happened to BTC so don't worry.  Crypto Currency is very volatile so the price changes quickly

GPU Mining in Minergate.com Miner

Hello everybody!

Now GPU mining is available in Minergate  miner.

Keep in mind that it is a beta version. It works with Nvidia and CUDA GPU on Windows only.

Download miner here

https://minergate.com/download/win-gpu-beta
https://minergate.com/download/win32-gpu-beta

Enjoy! Any feedback is welcome:)

It works (BCN/FCN) on my I5-K2500 and EVGA 570, but I think that I will get more h/s with cpuminer-wolf 05/30/2014 and ccminer GPU.

Probably you'll higher hash rate with CPU miner wolf and GPU Miner CC

Hey everyone,

The updated blockchain is available for download from https://bytecoin.org/downloads
I've also chatted with the devs, there will be be huge events soon. You may be even able to ask them yourselves Wink

I'm still on vacation till Sunday, so don't miss me much!

It sounds very mysterious!

Yep, is this huge event somehow apocalyptic?

Wow, that's not good to have an apocalyptic event. IMO, this event would be somehow connected with gui wallet

And when this huge event is going to happen? I so excited as every time BCN devs promises something huge it appears to be something  really significant.

The price is ridiculous. What's happening?! It must be at least 5x times higher

Consider 80% of total supply (around 150 billion coins) was mined by small group people before BCN available to visible world, 150 billion coins at 10 sat would be equal to 15,000 BTC. That's why everytime price raise significantly, huge sell pressure appear again.

I was watching BCN on the first day it added to Poloniex, coins was traded between 50-90 sat with good volume, and then someone with big stash of BCN started put in huge sell pressure, price started going down since then.

Some actual numbers since I happened to look at this recently. Slightly less than 10 BTC/day was being mined during the first month of trading on Poloniex. Some of that gets sold right away by miners, but it can't be 100%. Yet during that month 10-30 BTC per day was being traded. One day near the beginning (I think the second day but I'm not sure) over 60 BTC traded. That doesn't not include the trading that was also happening at the cryptonote exchange, which at times was similar in volume.

So it is pretty clear that many older coins were being dumped, and that is probably still happening.

IMO, it's gonna be soon and no need to tell you how important is that we've recently get the thread to ask developers some technical question

I mine in Xmining pool as it's possible to mine Fantomcoin there.
The future is for merged mining, no doubt

I think so cause gui wallet will make this coin looks friendlier to the miners. and there are rumors that the devs promised to create pretty nice gui wallet for BCN

Well, BCN needs gui miner/wallet. So there are people who are waiting for this implementation as it also would attract a lot attention from other users
