What did you guys expect? You don't even come across these names here on this forum. If you ask people here which pool do they use, you will most likely get "minergaaate" or "extremepooool". Honestly, nobody gives a sh*t about those small pools. Furthermore, they don't even know about them, because they're too lazy to check page 1.

Sad but true...

Network hash rate                       - 521 kH/sec

http://bcn.extremepool.org/          - 401 kh/s
https://minergate.com/                - 58 kh/s
http://bytecoin.xminingpool.com/   - 23 kh/s
http://nomp.freeyy.me:8000/bcn/  - 2.91 kh/s
Other/solo                                  - 36.09 kh/s

Visual representation:

I can find only 4 working BCN pools and extremepool has 77% of the net hash rate...

The following pools seem to have shut down fairly recently due to lack of support for small pools:

http://bcnpool.co.uk
http://bcn.oneevil.ru/
http://bcn.ext-pool.net/

Please support the smaller pools! This severely uneven spread of hash rate amongst all the pools is unhealthy.

Haven't heard anything about freeyy pool before. Have anyone tried to mine on it?

Now we currently have 19,670,000 BCN in our media fund!

Thank you for your active participation! This's a great initiative and we'll soon introduce our resource.

And we also have 1,900,000 + 750,000 BCN from an anonymous donors.

Bytecoin media fund - CALL TO ARMS!
I'm intrigued by what you guys have there.

I am also curious in what project they are going to invest this coins?  Smiley

I believe they would use this fund wisely on the project that would help people and also would promote BCN

I think the main reasons why the pools are small that, in the first, they is no good promotion and, in the second, the pools were created a lot later after Minergate and Extreme pools. So, if there would be good promotional campaign the situation could change. BTW Xmining is good to mine pool, IMO, but tastes differ

I totally agree and I also think XMining pool is very good, I mine there myself.

As the first CryptoNote coin, Bytecoin will always be relevant. The Bytecoin devs have always been really quiet for some reason though. DStrange said something about something big coming up soon didn't he? Has it already happened? Anyone have any news of what it could be?

Indeed, recently DStrange told us that there's going to be new implementations and updates but , as far as I know, it hasn't happened yet. I haven't heard what exactly devs are going to show us but now we are able to talk to them -  https://twitter.com/Bytecoin_BCN/status/496935769744105472 ! Smiley

I think that a well-done GUI wallet is something for the long term if this is going to appeal to a wider audience.
