Hello everyone.

I've been reading about BCN and I kind of like what I see.
I'll be mining it and I'm wondering if there is a P2Pool. Could you guys tell me which pool do you use and why? Nothing too much elaborated, I just want to have some insight from people that arrives this train before me.
Thanks in advance,

mega

Don't bother.

They lie when they say that BCN has been around since 2012.

Bytecoin (BCN) is a cryptocurrency started on July 4, 2012.

lol I was around and it was not even a blip on this forum. It was much quieter back on July 4, 2012.

The big lie...do not believe it.

Red flag why I will never support bytecoin.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

What's all this hub-bub with all cryptonote coins having a flaw which is in jeopardy of being exposed?  Is there any plan to fix it here?

This article contains a nice idea. Altcoins are a testing ground for innovation that might eventually be incorporated into Bitcoin. That means that Bytecoin (like other altcurrencies) was a pioneer, beta-tester. And since Bytecoin is very old, i guess that answer on your question is yes, it's true.

Opinions differ. He's one from a computer science professor at a world class university posting under his own name. Who the hell are you or "Harry"?

In addition, CN dev team has many times pointed that there were about 10 groups of miners in 2012-2014
- https://forum.cryptonote.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11&start=10#p111

Highly qualified experts who are willing to stand up with their real names and academic credentials have said that is a load of crap (I added the bold so you don't miss the key point):

FWIW, I concur completely with your assessment of the fake blockchain in Bytecoin - it's the most logical explanation for the very deliberately slowed down proof-of-work function.  (And for those watching, I came to that conclusion independently from looking at the code earlier - that conclusion was not influenced by rethink-your-strategy's claims.)  I haven't independently checked the PDF-related signature and timestamps that you noted, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.  Clever.  If they hadn't been quite so greedy (80%?  really?) it might have worked. Smiley

LMGTFY - http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dga/cv.pdf

It's a Ph.D. in addition to the masters, so feel free to insert the obligatory jokes about "those who can't, teach"  (but I've probably heard them before. Smiley

Sorry, but your scam is blown. You have zero credibility here. Just stop.

Do you want to say something? Can't understand exactly what you are talking about.

Speaking about opinions... Even if you don't trust this article you can open a Bitcoin subreddit and read some comments. Bitcoin community is a way casual. And I can't say the same about alternative currencies so, that's why all innovative stuff is about to happen here. And since Bytecoin is one of the oldest altcoins the answer on that question is positive.

I'm saying the two year history is a lie. "Harry" is a liar.

People involved with this project are scammers and liars. I remember for example, that you were involved in an incident where the project claimed -- falsely -- to have a professor Princeton working on it. That was shown to be a lie. (Unlike the real professor I quoted who explained part of the fraud).

Bytecoin was developed in 2013 and released with a fake blockchain making it appear to be two years old in order to hide an 82% premine (roughly 100 billion coins).

Quit scamming please.

Smooth here is the liar and FUD stirrer. He has got something to do with a clone of Bytecoin called Monero which is a pariah around these forums, from what I can see.

He constantly jumps on the Bytecoin thread calling everyone a liar and posting FUD just to try and support his Monero clone.

I was mining BCN late 2012 - in fact I recently found this thread and luckily got my wallet open. It's all working like a dream, thank you very much.

Anyway - he came on here and called me a liar with the same crap about Bytecoin being a few months old etc, etc.

Just ignore him. He is a bitter and twisted individual with too much emotional investment in a scam clonecoin.  Grin
Like I said - after being called a liar I checked out other threads here and the Monero he supports is a scamcoin, the followers are irritaing FUDsters and scammers and they are pretty much pariahs in the crypto world!  Grin

Here's a clue for you. It has nothing to with Monero. My suspicions about the Bytecoin lies and premine predate Monero.
When I have more time I will find some of my own posts to document that. I'm "subscribed" to this thread at all because I posted to it, as a miner and interested user, at the very beginning, before we knew the truth.

Monero wouldn't even exist were not for the premine fraud I would have simply supported Bytecoin, as I did (out of ignorance and curiosity) when it first appeared here.

But I can't and won't support a scam.

If you or anyone can provide verifiable (from credible identified third party unaffiliated with the project) proof that Bytecoin existed in 2012 then I will not only retract every negative statement I've ever made about it but I will abandon and denounce Monero immediately. It won't happen because it doesn't exist.

It's one I take too. And note that we're specific about it being credible - the means that a purchased forum account won't do, and if you're paying off a public figure you'd best make sure his buddies won't nab on him.

He doesn't and his own statements have already included contradictions that demonstrate he is lying. No I won't identify how, but I'm certain he is a fake.

Humm! Yes, that is the Monero way. State 'facts' without any proof but any other viewpoint must provide proof to a level commensurate with criminal prosecution.

We're tired of it. And we're tired of you and your stupid Monero bullshit!

Next time don't scam and you won't have these problems. Try being legit.

Not really directed at "you" though. I know you're just doing your job. Everyone has to eat.

So we can continue to do this kabuki thing where I criticize your boss's scam and you pretend to defend it, and then you collect your paycheck. Glad to help.
