BYTECOIN NEWS

Greetings! Throughout this week me and Bytecoin have been staying in, preparing to join OpenBazaar, but today in this wonderful sunny Friday and we are planning to get out of the network and have a joyful journey in the Great World.
Today Bytecoin will accompany me in walk around Manhattan and I appreciate his willingness to join me. I'm going to introduce it to all of my friends that I might come across today. I will surely introduce Bytecoin to my favorite hotel that I stay in every time I get the chance to visit New York. It will get to know my favorite cafe where I relish the beautiful music and exceptional politeness of the servers and of servers and bussers.
I am sure my friends will be surprised when they see us together, I've been through it before. They'll ask me what do we need new money for if we already have Bucks, Euro and Yen? I am sure that the idea that we need at least a few hundred of new currencies will astound them. I'll give my friends a few moments to regain composure and then introduce them to my good friend Bytecoin.
I will tell them that the trust we put in the issuer is what empowers the currency. Notes and coins in themselves carry no value. It is crucial that notes and coins a man receives for his work can be exchanged for the equivalent of work done by the other. And the issuer guaranties that the exchange may be executed at any point in time. That is the guarantee that you trust.
However, we have made a step forward and switched to cryptocurrencies. They are secured by a reliable algorithm. So where could we find trust in the world of cryptocurrencies?
In spite of decentralization, every single cryptocurrency belongs to someone. There are people who mine it and make transactions with it through exchanges. So the trust in a cryptocurrency is measured by the trust one puts in the people who make use of this cryptocurrency. You can buy a cup of coffee in Japan with the currency that is used by students and professors of Sorbonne University simply because it is a respectable institution and they are not going to give up on their currency. And if this particular coffee shop trusts the students community of Sorbonne it will accept their currency in exchange of a cup of coffee.
I already feel that my old friend is fixed to buy me a coffee in exchange for some Bytecoins. But I'm going to put it on hold for now and present him with my conclusion before we get into technical details of such a transaction.
We need to understand what money is. People will have to grasp the essence of money. The world will become so much better if every human-being will understand that his or her labor may be rewarded by one of the hundreds of currencies that they place trust in.
And in order to have such a diverse and bright world we are going to need a variety of currencies. Restoration of conscious and healthy attitude towards money is one of the most important goals of our team. We will do everything it takes to help the world to achieve the financial system of competing currencies.
My friend says that coffee goes well with croissant, they are fresh off the oven. And better take two croissant. Shall we pay with Dollars? No, not now. Better let’s talk about how we can use Bytecoin.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Monero

It is charming you think Monero is so important that you keep bringing it up on the BCN thread, but perhaps we could stick to discussing BCN here?

If only he stayed on the BCN thread with his compadres...

And as a known Moanero shill, troll and FUDster perhaps you could stick to one of your three hundred vacuous moanero threads......

I have no problem with Monero, in fact I own some XMR.

I just want to keep Monero discussion on Monero thread and BCN discussion on BCN thread.

A little bit tired of this senseless scamming each other. Maybe let's talk about more serious things than "BCN's the best / Monero's the best"?

So there's a very interesting article in the Guardian about how to behave right in the NSA-survelliance era
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/05/nsa-how-to-remain-secure-surveillance

1) Hide in the network
2) Encrypt your communications
3) Assume that while your computer can be compromised, it would take work and risk on the part of the NSA – so it probably isn't
4) Be suspicious of commercial encryption software, especially from large vendors
5) Try to use public-domain encryption that has to be compatible with other implementations

So my point is that there's lack of cryptocurrency point, and CryptoNote coins comply to this in the best way.

As far as I know, next significant BCN update will be released in a week.
While waiting for it, you can help us with community website maintenance. We have recently added two new guides: how to start pool mining (http://bytecoiner.org/pool-mining/howto.php) and how to buy BCN at Poloniex exchange (http://bytecoiner.org/poloniex/howto.php).

And we need your feedback.

I'm not surprised BCN advocates are alien to concept of honor.

calling someone on the internet retarded is the oldest trick on google, try again.

Why don't you stick around your XMR thread. There's nothing here that calls for your presence.

Is it a good idea to increase the supply of new BCN to dilute the premine so that BCN will not suffer the consequence of 82% premine? Maybe the damage has already been done no matter what the efforts?
