I would say yes, it's must be. Even if a gambling app on phone is released still I won't use it. It is better to play on the laptops and PC, as it is more comfortable to me. Well every body have their own comforts. In this day and age, it's almost a necessity for gambling sites to be mobile friendly.
A lot of people don't even own a PC or laptop anymore, so you'd be missing out on a huge market if your site doesn't work on mobile.

It doesn't have to be turned into an app, just have your regular website look good on mobile.

This may be off-topic but the Diablo franchise (Blizzard Entertainment) has created a game specifically for mobile. With the rising number of people switching and preferring mobile use, gambling sites must create an UI that would be accessible to people if they want to adapt to change.

I think it will more difficult for anyone to gamble with mobile phone.Having said that, I still didn’t faced any problems browsing any gambling sites till now.Just you have to struggle a bit more for gambling with Android device.I have played poker in my phone often and faced no problem at all.So, I think gambling site should be mobile friendly because all the time I can't open my PC/Laptop and gamble.Rather I'll be happy to let down and gamble by my Android device.

Total agree on this concern because most of us are more accessible in our mobile than our lappy and personal computer.but what the gambling  sites needs to prioritize is the security because gadgets are more prone to hackings than our lappy.

I think it depends on the game a bit, for example slots should definitely be mobile friendly, it certainly has a lot of aspects of the game that could be gambled on mobile phone and not lose any of the fun, or maybe even dice could be done on mobile properly as well, that would be lovely too.

Moreover, I played poker a lot back in the day (3 or 4 years ago) and honestly even on the biggest poker places in the world (pokerstars for real, zynga for fake) it was not as good as PC gaming, it just feels much better on computer. That is why casinos should first test out which games would be fun to play on mobile and which games wouldn't be fun at all. Most of the casino games can be played on mobile browser even if they don't have mobile site,only few games can't be played on the smaller screen and it is good to not play those games on mobile because the chances of making wrongs bets are high.In future everything will be used under mobile so most of the gambling sites will adapt to it so for now you have to take the options you have.
