You may already know that "Cryptsy" was hacked due to one of open source scam wallet which included trojan. When you enable OTP successfully, you will see the button name has changed from 'OTP enable' to 'OTP disable'. Make sure that you input your OTP(6 digits) and secret key correctly.

It sounds you are struggling and sorry for that.
If you saw 'Enable OTP' which means you hadn't set your OTP successfully yet, you need to reset your OTP. Read a new QR code, and have a new secret key.
If you saw 'Disable OTP' button only, check whether your Google OTP app has been sync the time with your device.

First off, thank you for sharing your thoughts and here is the answer.

Low trading volume happens because we don't have many users yet.
And fee amounts are predictable since each currency's trade volumes are publicly open already (You can see volumes on https://dovewallet.com/trade/spot/eth-btc )

The only thing that is not open to the public is user balances, but you can calculate from bonus rate.
If all fees are distributed then here's easy calculation formula.

(bonus rate) = (fee from trading) / (user balance)
(bonus rate) = ((trading volume) * 0.001) / (user balance)

We are distributing some portion of bonus from trading fee currently, not from our own pocket.
If you think the bonus rate is pretty higher than what you expected, maybe it means that user balances are lower than you expected.
There is no trick, hidden fee, or complex derivatives.

Actually, private keys are not saved in database at all but generated dynamically when it is needed.

Also, the private key managing server is isolated from the wallet daemon. We only push signed transaction data to wallet daemon to broadcast on their network.
Our secure server is wholly safe even when the wallet daemon has Trojan or hijack codes.

We implemented API very similar to Bittrex to maximize compatibility with existing libraries out there but we don't have any connection with Bittrex.
We can run markets open even when Bittrex closes.

Here is the case that we all may face.
Jackie promised to send her ETH to David today. She logged in her wallet account, typed David’s wallet address on the receiver’s address, and clicked ‘Send’!
She left a message that she completed her transaction to David, and slept. In the morning, she woke up by message alert.
“Hi, it’s David. I’m sorry, but I gave you the wrong address! It wasn’t ETH address, but my ETC instead. I was so confused!”
Since most wallet service provides different addresses for ETH, ETC, David would have to pay extra money to the wallet service, and wait for a week. Or maybe it can be totally unrecoverable forever.

  1. Before downloading a 2FAs app, check whether the developer of the app is valid.
Since OTP(2FA) standard spec is open, anyone can make same implementation. It is possible for a malicious developer to develop a 2FA app to steal your secret key, so it is advisable to use well-known software.(It is recommended to avoid applications developed by individual or newly established firms.)

  2. Turn off secret key sync feature even if your 2FAs app provides.
Online synchronization of the secret key makes things easier, but it is more likely to be hacked. Even though there is no negligence of the users, precious information may be leaked, if a 2FAs service provider’s server is hacked.

  3. Check the app is open source
Open source 2FAs app can be verified by a third-person.
Being open source does not guarantee the security of the app, but it is more likely to be safer since open source app can be verified externally. Downloading free software may install malware such as adware and spyware, which may result leakage of the secret key in the worst case.

Smartphone’s 2FAs app is more secure than that of PC. PC has to be in one place, so they are more vulnerable to physical hijacking. We recommend you to use 2FAs on your smartphone most cases. Furthermore, if you want to be more secure, using a smartphone without network connection is advisable.

In a recent survey poll of 17,275 Dove Wallet users worldwide asking about “which continent expect to benefit most from the growing digital assets adoption,” 25% of all respondents believe Asia will benefit most from the growing digital assets market. Following very close behind were Europe & Latin America with 24%, saying they are also hotly-anticipated & promising regions.
The Middle East & Africa were also found to be the regions with full potential,17% believing an optimistic future of digital assets with many beneficiaries.

"Digital asset will replace the fiat currency", 64% said

While research is actively being conducted & tested on the possibility of digital assets such as stablecoins and CBDCs, many users predict that digital assets will ultimately become an alternative to or replacement for fiat currencies.
In a recent dove wallet survey poll of 21,106 Dove Wallet users worldwide, asking 'whether they agree with the argument that digital assets would become an alternative to or replacement for fiat currency,' 64% of all respondents said that they agreed while 14% said that they don't agree. Also, 22% cited that they are not sure about the argument.

According to the survey results, users from digital asset frontier nations in Asia & Africa tend to support the idea of cryptocurrency as an alternative to current fiat money more passionately. For example, 89% of China's users said they supported the argument, while over 70% of participants from the countries such as Vietnam, Egypt, Algeria, Bangladeshi, Indonesia, Japan, & Thailand agreed to the argument. There was also a fresh surprise. Despite huge user population growth, only 46% of S. Korea's digital asset users said they agreed with the relevant claim, well below the average and one of the lowest compared to other countries, shown reservations about the idea.

While CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) research and reviews are being intensified, digital asset users are still taking a somewhat reserved stance on CBDC.
 A recent Dove Wallet survey of 4,829 users worldwide, asking 'how much confidence they have in the development of CBDC,' 45% of all respondents said 'they don't know.' In contrast, 40% expressed a supportive stance on the development of CBDC, and 15% said they do not have confidence.
According to the country-specific survey results, users from the country that is actively preparing to introduce its central bank-led digital currency also showed a high confidence level in CBDC, such as China. A whopping 58% of users from China expressed their supportive views in the CBDC. Users from Algeria, one of the countries known for the strict regulations on digital asset uses, also showed a high confidence level with 62%. On the other, 26% of Italian users said 'no confidence' in CBDC, while 24% said they were confident, most skeptical about CBDC development relatively.

53% said “Crypto will pass current as real money within 1 year”

When will the digital assets gain currency in our everyday life? Many digital asset users predicted that this change would be possible soon, as early as next year.
A recent dove wallet survey of 12,952 users worldwide asked how long it would take for digital assets to gain currency as money in their daily life, 53% of all respondents said that it would be possible within a year. In contrast to such hopeful responses, 10% said that it would not happen.
These results seem to reflect high expectations for a newly transforming financial environment, such as the globally expanding digital asset-based payment market and the continuous development of digital currencies, driven by governments & big global players.
According to the country-specific survey results, users from China were most favorable to digital assets, 68% said digital assets would become popular with the common currency within a year. Such a result reflects China's kind mood around digital assets, including the state-led CBDC. S. Korea, on the other hand, only 26% responded that digital assets would gain currency in less than a year, the lowest number among the countries. Also, 39% said it would never happen. Such a pessimistic view on digital assets' future use appears to have been influenced by negative perceptions toward digital assets and the government's regulatory-driven policies.

It seems news/media is the most preferred investment source channel for digital assets users.
A recent dove wallet survey of 2,830 users worldwide asked where they get digital asset investment tips mostly, and 43% of all respondents answered news/media as their investment source channel. Also, 15% said they received tips from their friends or family, while 12% cited adverts as their preferred investment source channel. Also, financial professionals and community/SNS both got 7% citations, and 16% of respondents said they got investment tips from other ways.
Digital asset users' choice of news/media as their investment source channel seems quite understandable given the digital assets' uncertain & volatile environment with many fraudulent incidents, seeking reliable & trustworthy information available is predictable.
The country-specific result is also interesting. While digital asset users from overseas picked news/media as their preferred investment source channel, 35% of S. Korean digital asset users cited community/SNS over news/media as their favorite.

Users pick crypto as most attractive long-term investment assets

34% of digital asset users prefer 'cryptocurrency' over 'gold' as the most attractive long-term investment asset.
A recent Dove Wallet survey of 6,815 users worldwide, asked the most attractive investment option for the long-term, 34% of all respondents chose 'digital assets' as their No.1 long-term investment option. Stocks placed 2nd with 20% while real estate got 12%. Also, 9% of respondents cited gold as their long-term investment option, and cash and intellectual property got 8% and 6%, respectively.
According to the survey results, the preference for 'digital assets' as a long-term investment option appeared to be evenly seen in most parts of the world, and as expected, users from China saw 'cryptocurrencies' as most attractive investment items, 54% said. Over 40% of users from countries like Colombia, Morocco, Ecuador, Egypt, Japan & South Africa also chose 'cryptocurrencies' over other accessible investment assets, such as stocks, real estates & gold.

‘Security’ as the most important factor when choosing the exchanges

It is found that security is the most critical factor to consider for crypto users in selecting a digital asset exchange or wallet service.
A recent Dove Wallet survey of 4,960 users worldwide, asked ‘what they consider most important when choosing a crypto trading platform,’ 36% of all respondents picked ‘security’ as the uppermost element. Also, 17% chose the platform’s volume & liquidity capacity, while 15% of users cited the ‘fees’ as an essential factor to consider. Besides, the platform’s reputation, list of registered cryptos both got 10%, 7% UI, and 6% KYC/AML implementation.
The Survey results, ‘security’ as a most critical factor in choosing the asset trading platform seems to reflect the prevalent distrust of the exchange platform, after continuing hacking incidents. 54% of Crypto users say ‘What is DeFi?’

Despite DeFi’s meteorically success with massive investment lately, it appears DeFi remains relatively new to most cryptocurrency users.
A recent Dove Wallet survey of 4,898 users worldwide asked ‘how much they know about DeFi, and a whopping 54% of all respondents said they had no clue what DeFi was. Those who said they’d heard before and yet didn’t know much about numbered 17%. 11% of respondents said they got interested and started learning, while 9% started to invest seriously. Only 9% said they’ve already had high-farming yields.
The survey produced somewhat conflicting results and went against the belief that the DeFi frenzy has attracted lots of crypto users and expanded its market base. The survey results indicated that DeFi was still unfamiliar to crypto users.
According to the country-specific survey results, Korean crypto users’ level of interest appears to be lowest compared to other countries, as 75% of Korean respondents said they never heard and had no idea about DeFi.
While trying to build itself as an alternative to the traditional finance systems with all the buzz, it looks evident that more education on DeFi should be needed since DeFi carries as much risk as to the many benefits, and it is of paramount importance for users to have the ability to discern these risks on their own.

Bitcoin reaffirms its unwavering position as #1 digital asset to invest

Bitcoin’s overwhelming status and support as ‘best digital asset to invest’ is likely to continue for some time.

A recent Dove Wallet survey of 9,428 users worldwide asked “which one will be the best asset to invest to the end of 2020 among top 5 market cap digital assets; Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Chainlink & Polkadot,” 49% of all respondents overwhelmingly chose “Bitcoin,” confirming its dominance as a most trustworthy digital asset to invest once again. Also, 24% of respondents cited ‘Chainlink’ over ‘Ethereum,’ which got 11%. ‘Ripple’ and ‘Polkadot’ got 8% each.

While the survey result reaffirms Bitcoin’s unwavering position as the most anticipated investment destination among digital asset users worldwide, a newly shifting movement has been observed, digital assets such as ‘Chainlink’ seemed to be attracting attention for its potential investment value with DeFi frenzy in the market.

Country-specific survey results revealed very little difference, Bitcoin as the most preferred investment asset to the end of 2020. A whopping 68% of participants from China chose ‘Bitcoin’ over other assets. However, it is also interesting to note that users from Indonesia and the Philippines picked ‘Chainlink’ over ‘Bitcoin’ as the best asset to invest. In Indonesia, 56% of users chose ‘Chainlink,’ while ‘Bitcoin’ got 19%.

We want to provide advance guidance on policy changes to privacy coin (or dark coin) in Dove Wallet, such as DASH, ZEC after a recent proposal of new rules under the revised Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information by Korea’s Financial Services Commission(FSC).
According to the announcement from FSC on new rules on AML requirements on virtual assets, virtual asset service providers will no longer be able to handle the coins that present a high money laundering risk, namely privacy coins or dark coins.
As a result, Dove Wallet would inevitably cease trading support for DASH, ZEC on Dove Wallet for South Korean users.
From January 1, 2021, Dove Wallet will enforce deposit/withdrawal restrictions on DASH & ZEC; we highly recommend that Korean users withdraw or dispose of any relevant privacy coins soon.

55% said, “DeFi will replace the existing finance”

Many digital asset users believe that "DeFi is the future of finance and will replace traditional centralized finance systems."
A recent Dove Wallet survey of 5,508 users worldwide asked, "The Future of Decentralized Financial Services," more than half of all respondents agreed with the prospect that DeFi would eventually replace traditional finance. Also, 14% said DeFi would work complementarily rather than replace the existing financial infrastructure. On the other hand, 10% of respondents expressed unfavorable opinions, "DeFi is a bubble that will soon burst."
While some have raised questions & concerns about the DeFi bubble collapse amid its explosive growth, the poll results have confirmed DeFi's compelling value proposition and support from digital asset users worldwide.
Country-specific results revealed little difference in DeFi's future; countries from Africa, South America, and the Middle East, known for their active digital assets related financial market growth, seem to have higher expectations for the future of DeFi. 52% said, “satisfied with the governments’ response to digital asset financial services”

With the rapid rise of the digital asset financial services market, what is the score for each of the countries’ response efforts that users rate?
In a recent survey of 3,134 Dove Wallet users worldwide asked, “how to assess their government’s response on digital asset financial services,” surprisingly, 52% of users said they were satisfied with the response by their governments. Among that 52%, a whopping 39% answered that they were ‘highly satisfied’ with their governments’ response to digital asset financial services. Users who said they were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied were 11% and 13%, respectively.
However, it is interesting that the government response satisfaction ratings of users in the US, a leader in the digital asset financial services market, were 41%, below the overall average and the lowest number among major digital assets market-leading countries. South Korean users also had one of the highest ‘dissatisfied’ rates, 32%, among other market-leading countries such as the US & France.

Looking back at 2020 digital asset market from Dove Wallet surveys

As 2020 is coming to an end and a new year is quickly approaching, Dove Wallet looks back at the digital asset market with our global user surveys.

66% support digital asset taxation as it becomes the norm
Amid continuously arising questions and confusion surrounding digital assets taxation, 66% of global users supported it, interpreted as reflections of expectations for full-fledged regulation & legalization. On the contrary, 20% of users have dissented with their disapproval, expressed it was premature, and needed a new digital asset tax framework.

'Asia' will be the most digital asset-beneficiary region
25% of global users believe Asia will benefit most from the fast-growing digital assets market. Following very close behind were Europe & Latin America with 24%, saying they are also hotly-anticipated & promising regions. Its result tends to show that many agree that troubled regions with economic & political problems could exploit the benefits of digital assets more readily. It is also uncontroversial that Asia is the most hopeful region since it has emerged as the pronounced leader in the digital assets market, playing essential roles with significant influence.

'Security' as the most crucial factor
While new types of digital assets finance services have been churned out over the year, 36% of global users voted for 'security' as the most critical factor to consider for crypto users in selecting a digital asset exchange or wallet service. Its result seems to reflect the prevalent distrust of digital asset platforms.

Digital assets will gain currency as real money within one year
53% of global users said that it would take one year for digital assets to gain currency as money in our daily life. Such results reflect high expectations for a newly transforming financial system, not to mention Paypal's digital asset service launch and the introduction of government-driven digital currencies such as China's DCEP.

'Digital assets' as the most attractive investment option
34% of global users chose 'digital currency' as the most attractive long-term investment option, 'stock' & 'real estate' placed 2nd & 3rd. Especially, 'digital assets' has strengthened its position as a favorable investment option as Bitcoin value has risen nearly 140% compared to the beginning of the year, and big financial institutions have begun to participate in the massive investment.

Users welcome ‘traditional banks’ entry into the digital assets market

Half of the global users were optimistic about the traditional banks’ entry into the digital asset financial services market.
A recent survey of 4,193 Dove Wallet users worldwide asked “their views on traditional banks’ entry into digital assets finance market,” 50% of users replied positively. While 15% of users were negative about large banks’ entry into the digital assets market, 35% showed a reserved position with “no opinion.”
Country-specific results revealed little difference; they seem to support large traditional banks’ inroad into the market. However, it is interesting China & Argentina users’ positive views were well below than overall average, 32% & 35% respectively. The US & France, major digital asset markets globally, were only countries with over 20% negative views.
With a tantalizing glimpse of the potential of the digital asset market, the news such as OCC’s ruling on nationally chartered banks’ custodial services about digital assets and the launch of digital assets exchange by DBS, South-east Asia’s largest bank, has built up anticipation among many digital asset users.

53% said ‘Bitcoin price will drop below $20K in 2021’

While Bitcoin continues to break its all-time high records and garnered public attention again with a furious rally lately, more than half of global crypto users have put a dark prospect that bitcoin's price will stay below its current level in 2021.
A recent Dove Wallet survey of 2,373 users worldwide asked, "what will Bitcoin be worth in 2021," and 53% of respondents said it would be $20,000 or less. A whopping 38% predicted that bitcoin prices would fall below $10,000 in 2021 despite its continuing uptrend these days. While 12% of respondents forecasted it would stay between $20,000 and $30,000, 45% said it would hit $30,000 or higher, 8% for $30,000 to $40,000, 10% for $40,000 to $50,000, and 17% for higher than $50,000.
Given the current bullish market atmosphere, it is interesting to see the regional differential in users' expectations for Bitcoin. For example, users from countries such as India, Egypt, Bangladesh, Algeria predict a significant drop in the Bitcoin price in 2021. Contrarily, users with the most optimistic view in Bitcoin price among major countries were South Korean users, with 57% expecting more than $30,000, and 36% of respondents said it would be over $50,000.

BTC rewards instead of miles?, 45% said “Not interested”

What would be users' reaction to credit cards that earn digital asset rewards such as Bitcoin and Ethereum?

A recent Dove Wallet survey of 4,321 users asked, "what do you think about the credit cards with digital asset rewards instead of bonus points or miles?", 45% said, in a nutshell, they were not interested in such products. On the other hand, 41% of respondents took a very enthusiastic interest; they would get one as soon as it becomes available, while 14% said they would weigh the options carefully before applying for it. 

Given the digital assets' popularity these days, showing no sign of slowing down, the survey result is somewhat surprising that digital asset users show little interest in credit cards with Bitcoin rewards. However, it is also interesting to see starkly different user preferences by region; users from S. America & Africa region tend to be more enthusiastic about the idea than other areas, such as Europe & N. America. For example, while 71% of Ecuador users appeared to be eager to get digital asset rewarding credit cards, 88% of UK users said they were not interested at all.

54% of users said they understand the delistings for privacy coins

As delistings for privacy coins, aka ‘dark coins,’ become a trend worldwide, how will digital asset users feel about it?
In a recent survey of 3,172 Dove Wallet users worldwide, asked about delistings of privacy coins by crypto exchanges, 54% said they conceded the decision considering the regulatory environment. On the other hand, 21% of respondents opposed the privacy coin delistings, claimed it scapegoated, while 25% said they had no opinions.
Overall, the survey results indicate that more than half of crypto users understand the situation, the reason for bans & delistings of privacy coins amid regulatory pressure. However, results also show substantial privacy coin supporters concerning the assets’ viability and insist on reconsidering delistings.
Country-specific results revealed little difference; they seem to understand the exchanges’ action to delist privacy coins as conflicting AML & KYC regulations. However, 42% of Korean users’ highest disapproval rating of privacy coin delistings is somewhat surprising.

44% of digital asset users say, ‘What is NTF?’

Although DeFi has been the center of attention in the 2020 crypto scenes, another market has gained traction. Non-Fungible Token (NFT), which represents individual, unique assets such as collectibles, artwork, gaming items, sports, has also been growing fast. However, despite such NFT's rising popularity as the next trendsetter in the crypto environment, it appears NFT remains relatively new to most digital asset users.
A recent survey of 1,763 Dove Wallet users worldwide asked: "how much do they know about NFT?" 44%, only less than half of the participants, said they had no idea what NFT is. Also, 24% noted that they'd heard before and yet have no understanding, which means a whopping 68% of all respondents had no or very shallow knowledge of NFT. 17%, on the other hand, said they got interested in and started to learn, and 15% already begun to invest in NFT projects.
The survey revealed a widespread lack of NFT knowledge among digital asset users; country-specific results revealed little difference except for the US. According to the results, US users' NFT awareness level appears to be highest among major markets; 43% said they’ve already begun to study with great interest or made some investment, a somewhat fortunate sign for the NFT market's future growth.

34% said ‘they invest BTC locked savings if it guarantees 3% APY or more’

Amid an unprecedented era of near-zero interest rates worldwide, digital asset lock-up interest-earning products, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, have increased in recent years. With interest in digital assets at an all-time high and seeing its market snowballing, how much would digital asset users expect the minimum yield on Bitcoin-locked savings?
A recent survey of 2,846 Dove Wallet users worldwide asked, "the minimum guaranteed annual returns you would expect if you invest in Bitcoin locked saving products," 34% said they were willing to invest in such products if it guarantees 3% APY or more.
On the other hand, 14% of the respondents said they would put their Bitcoin if it guaranteed 12% APY or more, while 10% said they wanted 5% APY or more. Also 7% of survey respondents wanted 8% APY or more, other 7% said 10% APY or more. 
Given the growing value of Bitcoin these days, the survey results of relatively lower yield earnings digital asset users would expect from the products are somewhat surprising. And it is also interesting to see the differential in users' expectations from country to country. For example, more than half from Algeria, Ecuador, and Morocco said they would invest in BTC-locked savings with 3% APY or more. Contrarily, 27% from the US & 24% from South Korea said they would only invest in such savings products with the guarantee of 12% APY or more.

More than half of digital asset users said they would use crypto custodial services from traditional banks upon its availability.

A recent survey of 2,894 Dove Wallet users worldwide asked “if they would be interested in using the crypto custodial services from traditional banks upon its availability,” 54% said they would use it. Among them, 38% of respondents took a very enthusiastic interest; they would use the services as much as they could, while 16% said they would use them selectively. On the other hand, 20% said they would not use them, while 26% said they had no idea yet.
Country-specific results revealed little difference; they seem to support traditional banks’ inroads into the crypto custodial services market. For example, 60% of S. Korean users said they were willing to use them upon their availability. 54% increased ‘the allocation ratio of BTC in their portfolio

It is found that digital asset users' share of BTC in their portfolio has increased compared to the same period last year.
In a recent Dove Wallet survey of 7,433 users worldwide, asked whether the bitcoin allocation ratio in the digital asset portfolio has increased compared to the same period last year, 54% responded that it has grown.
On the other hand, 22% said their BTC allocation ratio has decreased, while 24% said no change in their portfolio.
Such survey results are expected to some extent considering the tremendous increase in value and positive market prospects of Bitcoin that have been continuing since last year. Besides, it can be said that this is a result of reflecting the trust in bitcoin as a reliable alternative investment asset as the institutional financial institutions begin to take part in BTC investment in earnest.
While the country-by-country results revealed very little difference, it is interesting to note that in developing countries such as Brazil, Egypt, India, and Algeria, the increase in users' bitcoin allocation ratio was notably higher. Also, contrary to overall results, 44% of Korean users said there is no change in bitcoins' allocation ratio in the portfolio. This result is somewhat conservative compared to other regions and can be interpreted that some of the propensity of Korean users who are also actively investing in other altcoins are reflected.
