it was already very close to me also going to create a thread with a super long post to boast that I arrived on this forum years ago, which contributes a lot to the forum, that I caught scammer X and Z, that I spent long sleepless nights reading many threads in order to have a good quality post, that I saw many battles from DT members, that I love the forum very much, and I would also read some books to be able to enrich the post.

Oh heavens I was close, very close to creating a legendary post. hahaha

PS: I hope one day to edit this post to say that I am already legendary and I'm definitely not going to make a long post like it's a book telling everything I've done on this forum since the day I joined the forum

I have seen you in gambling section many times. It's amazing to see you have over 13k posts and grinding since 2016. Your merit and activities are more than enough to be a Legendary but you are caught up in Legendary algorithm set by custom script for the forum, default SMF does not have it. Hope soon the script will trigger to promote you to Legendary.

You won't need to edit this post. You can share us in the dedicated thread. Good luck brother!

Just realized you do not have enough merits for the Legendary rank.

what's the point of creating a post to say that I'm already a hero, legendary or senior member and then tell a long story about yourself? worse than when I look at the person's post history and what they just wrote I have the feeling that I'm looking at my country's politicians

Just like the legendary rank, set an example for all newly minted ranks where and when to talk about yourself. Tell them about your progress in the BitcoinGirl.Club topic. Modestly, without any self-praise, as it was here. I think this will be a motivation for everyone else, not to be ridiculed after creating a topic about yourself, or even get a negative tag, as yahoo62278j   intimidated.
If people do not hear calls not to create topics about themselves, you can simply show them how normal and experienced, and certainly, real legends operate.

Most probably they will be Legendary not Hero for that stat.

The script applied only for Legendary ranking. While the amount of merit for a Legendary rank is 1000 but the activities in between 775 and 1030. Please have a look on the thread sticked on meta. In other words, if anyone have 1000 merits and they have minimum 775 activities then they can start counting for the legendary rank until it eventually happen.

There is a calculator created by a user. I do not know the link but hopefully someone else will find it for you.

Personally, I don't mind people making threads to praise about their achievements and also to say thanks for helping to achieve it. Though, sometimes I see such threads as attempt to hunt some extra merit. And some people is simply narcisists, to they need to brag about their achievements, get attention and satisfy themselves in such way.
It's not my cup of tea. I don't like to brag too much about my achievements and I don't really want to get too much attention. When I reach x number of merits or reach other milestone, I rather use already existing topic than making new one. Like I did when I turned Legendary:

Yeah well I knew with proper looking after it will eventually pick up. It's good to see that users are accepting it and finding the thread useful. I am regularly bumping it with the hope that one day I will not even need to. Everyone will have the thread in mind and whenever they will need it they will jump in.

Good job mate, the thread is as of now keeping every rank up thread in a single place, that is tidy stuff and good to see; i am pretty sure somewhere along the line we would prolly still see quite a few users make their own individual rank up topics, but it wouldn't mean much or be a problem at all, as long as the majority of users who want to celebrate their rank up choose to post in your "announce your rank up thread", then everything is still fine. It would just be somewhat like the merit system designed to stop spam, which it has to a large extent, but can't completely eradicate it, well done mate.

Several users came to this thread on advice. They did not know about the existence of a single topic on which to talk about their achievements.
And you can also show an example if you see an open topic and just redirect the user here. If you look at the last unsubscribes here about their rank, then they get merits here more than in their individual topics. It is also a kind of motivation.

I try to send them single merit. I wish I was a merit source to give them more. But this is just an extra burden for me. If the merit sources subscribes the topic for notification and they regularly send merits to the posts then users will find some kind of incentives for them to follow the topic.

My source sMerit keeps piling up, it's at 300 200 now. I took the quick solution and "bumped" all posts that you Merited.

I like the idea of motivating users in this topic But it'll probably be abused at some point.

I would be even better if you and some other merit sources who are regular in reputation can have the thread subscribed and whenever get time check to send merit. About the abuse case, this is much easier to prevent now.

This guys should be happier now. This will definitely motivate others to follow the thread.

So far, the one user who made his own achievement thread, hasn't received any Merit. Nobody has used your thread yet for an achievement. But if someone does and earns Merit there, it might actually work.

I doubt it though: usually topic starters earn more Merit than people who respond to topics (maybe except for the tech boards). That's a huge motivation to open more topics.

To be honest, recently I have seen people not giving merits to the thread starter (if they think that thread stater motive is to earn merits only)  but giving merits to those who constructively reply to those threads.

By the way, it's only a matter of few days when I can also contribute here
