I just don't get the part on why the news article used this line first when its not about solving the job loss the country will face in the future. It's clearly about data transparency for their food products and it doesn't show any single hint about the job sector. To be perfectly honest  it might even be the cause for some to lose their jobs. If Italy is ready to do so then the cons may outweigh the pros of this project as clearly the food industry in Italy is big and a lot of jobs are on the line here.

Using this transparency technology "Blockchain" may reduce many jobs but may increase employment.
The more resources are exploited in a transparent and fair manner, the more jobs will be created as a result of prosperity and thus more jobs in agriculture, development, technical research and other related sectors.

Turning work from manual to semi-mechanic has increased employment opportunities. How will transparency affect many businesses? Certainly more prosperity.

LOL, I would agree that Blockchain can disrupt not just the Food industry but other sector as well. But I don't get it when the article says "70% of the existing jobs in Italy will no longer exist." That it mean that implementing Blockchain will really get rid of human intervention? This technology is just a tool and if no one from behind is manning the steering wheel then it's just useless.

this article is looking like the ANN Thread of some scam ICOs that want to fool people by making lots of promises that are supposed to be thanks to the blockchain revolution. The blockchain will not do magic to create many jobs and it will not make miracles in the world. so when you talk about blockchain, you need to moderate and be realistic about what blockchain is able to do and also about what blockchain is not able to do.

Welcome to crypto. Though I believe Italy might have some poor people trying hard to live there, I doubt blockchain is the solution for this especially if you want to revolutionize the food sector and so on.

It's a waste of tech, a centralized database is enough for something like this (food tracking, etc). Especially if in the end they use pos with few validators which are essentially just some people sharing their spreadsheet data.
