It's meaningless until one entity actually signs from the damn genesis block. No signature no satoshi, it's that simple. It has to be posted in public so we all can verify that it is real and not fake like faketoshi.

People keep saying that he has to move funds, but nothing has to move at all. It's super simple to sign a message, yet no one claiming to be satoshi is doing it, because they're all scams. McAfee is a retard and a criminal.

If he is only doing this in order to gain trust and popularity in the upcoming election I think that this would be a wrong move for him. Even if he revealed what he believes is Satoshi Nakamoto I doubt that majority of the people would believe him since his reputation for telling the truth is awful. Worst case scenario is the market's response will be overwhelmed with mix emotions which in market terms is not really good. Best case scenario I see is he would just be one of those people who look dumb at the end thinking that he is the one who knows Satoshi's real identity, which I think how the market would naturally react on any news related to John McAfee.

  I  seriously doubt it, and I personally think that Satoshi Nakamoto isn't a single entity but a crack team made up of seasoned professionals. I think the whole altruistic and decentralization theme is all too clever and selfless for one guy to orchestrate, but hell, I could be terribly wrong. If it is just a one man operation, thats pretty awe inspiring and must have taken him/her careful planning, being laid out possiblly years in advance, just to pull it off the way he/she did!
   That's just my personal theory though

This is what McAfee is saying that it's a group but I don't believe he knows even a single person from this group. He wants to become famous by finding Satoshi and this shows what he really wants. He wants to be famous at all cost. He doesn't care about decentralization libertarian values and anonymity. He wants money and fame and his altcoin pumping and this affair is a proof.

They've actually been feuding publicly. It could be a farce for sure, considering their backgrounds, but I doubt it. If you mean they're both on the side of nutjobs though, I completely agree lol.

As for McAfee, he seems to be claiming for a while now that he knows who Satoshi is. This is his tweet from Nov. 2018:

If you read the replies, he also claims that the CIA is monitoring him. The CIA is probably monitoring everyone to some degree, but he phrased it in such a way that he's an important and powerful person. The real reason he backed off is so that he doesn't lose the miniscule credibility he has left.

Yes I agree that they can manipulate newbies but still there are many greedy people in the community who don't read a lot about cryptocurrencies and they just believe what the famous people do. Maybe these greedy and "uneducated" people are another category that can be manipulated by McAfee.

Craig Wright has done enough harm to turn BSV in the next BTG. It's only a matter of time before their silly chain will be NiceHash attacked. If their hashrate keeps dropping, it might even happen this year. Binance and the rest of the exchanges having delisted BSV did well in that regard, because they won't be losing millions in funds this way.

Craig Wright even threatened exchanges with double spend attacks, so it seems that at least in one aspect his words might hold some truth.

Look at Roger Ver for example, his rage against Bitcoin has turned his Twitter into a total mess. People continuously and rightfully trash BCash, and that while before his rage people were actually on his side for the most part. Self destruction mission almost complete.....

i don't think he's aligned with craig wright since he hangs out with roger ver and constantly oozes over jihan wu. maybe they were on the same side a year ago, but not now.

that said, he's definitely the same type of person as craig wright. they both try to rain as much attention on themselves as possible, whether for money/power/influence over the community or whatever else. i truly wish people would stop giving these guys the attention they seek but i know now that's not realistic.
