Testnet #5 Has Been Released!

This is the fifth testnet release of the Stegos blockchain. Changes since Testnet 4

Check out the highlights:
• Added a fork resolution mechanism to consensus and improved handling of network partitions.
• Implemented basic cheating detection of malicious validators in consensus (without punishment for now).
• Significantly reduced the time of full sync with the network.
• Switched to real peer-to-peer unicast messaging with NAT traversal support.
• Extended WebSocket API to support notifications about blockchain status.
• Fixed bugs and improved stability of consensus and network subsystems.

Breaking changes:
TestNet-5 release is not fully compatible with TestNet-4 release. Please reset your local database if you upgrading from the previous release:
rm -rf database/

You can always find the list of releases and other important information in our wiki at https://github.com/stegos/stegos/wiki/wiki

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

.
Thanks Saugani! It’s a blockchain built from scratch and using the best of the current blockchain theory, plus our own research. We have nothing to do with Ethereum and use none of their (or any other blockchain’s) code. We believe we could do better than zerocoin so we didn’t implement their protocol.
Wow. I'm glad with you Dev. Plz improve this discussion more relevant so we can see the development of your project so that in order for your account to become Jr member and we will give you at least one merit to update your ANN bitcointalk as such infographics look great. Wink

Yes, I agree with you, I see it's development on GitHub so far your project has high activity on the source code that is being built and I would conclude that project was total own-blockchain of stegos aka independent chain

Stegos will generate a pre-mine of 1 billion STG tokens as the initial supply. Of these, up to 51.25% will be sold publicly to raise $20M (million). The remaining 48.75% will be used to pay for costs and compensate team members, backers and advisors. These values have been carefully selected to enable us to reach our development milestones and jumpstart the Stegos ecosystem.

Here's the token allocation:
51.25% - Sold to the public
16.75% - Development
10.0% - Marketing & Ecosystem
10.0% - Reserve
10.0% - Team
2.0% - Advisors & Key Backers

⛑️ PRIVACY APPLICATIONS PLATFORM: IDENTITY ⛑️

Stegos creates cutting-edge technology to keep your secrets safe so you feel empowered and secure.

• Stegos uses stealth addresses and payments to a public key are cloaked with two random values
• It is impossible to link payments to someone by analyzing the blockchain
• Stegos uses the UTXO model, where each UTXO is best understood as a coin
• It's wallet addresses can be used as an identifier or avatar for the purposes of messaging or building a reputation or social score

Don't you think that marketing activity is very low? Development is high and team funds are the same of reserve and marketing..

Tech Report Apr, 22nd - May, 3rd

During the last two weeks our development team has been working hard to finalize major features of the upcoming testnet release.

The following tasks were completed in the period April,22nd — May, 3rd:

Done

• Finalize HashCash integration, Network, required to prevent DoS-attacks
• Stress Testing: Transactional Load Generator, Testing, the part of test harness
• Determine major blockchain constants: Maximum UTXOs per Block, Epoch Length & Block Time, Consensus, those are important parameters of the consensus protocol
• Wallet Recovery, Wallet, required to recover wallet keys using 24-word recovery phrase
• Key Encryption on the Disk, Wallet, implement safe storage of keys on disk
• Proof of UTXO Construction, Wallet, a feature allowing to prove that a particular transaction has taken place in the past

In progress

• Slashing, Consensus, punishing the cheating slot owner for publishing two different blocks on the same height
• Re-Staking, Consensus, changing validators’ PBC keys related to staked tokens at the predetermined intervals
• Service Awards, Core Blockchain, required to create an incentive for validators to be online
• Stress Testing: Multiple Regions, Network, launch nodes in multiple AWS regions to test consensus with real-life latencies
• ValueShuffle: Bots, ValueShuffle, required to facilitate VS transactions in absence of enough VS transactions intents

Roman Tsisyk

• Wallet Recovery is about recovery using 24-word recovery phrase. This feature has been implemented and can be used by Wallet UI.

Did you know that Stegos can send messages and data via the blockchain?

Stegos is regularly pruned to keep it small. This means the Stegos blockchain has space for messages and data, in addition to standard transactions.

Stegos block rewards are distributed using gamified Proof-of-Stake (gPOS)

The Stegos privacy blockchain uses a version of Albatross which has been optimized for privacy and mobile compatibility.

Stegos block rewards are distributed using gamified Proof-of-stake (gPoS), a unique modification to Proof-of-stake which ensures that all users have a fair chance to earn tokens for maintaining and validating the network, not just whales.

I love these projects! I think while there is no common use of cryptocurrencies, it is better to stay in the shadows. I'm for security and secrecy.
