Buying when the price dip and selling when it surges is not actually a good investment strategy, and any one who engages him or herself in such practice is said to be a trader and not an investor because a real investor has nothing to look for in the short term knowing fully well that bitcoin investment is not a Short term investment but Long term. The thing is that a lot of people are proclaiming to be an investor when they are not, they just want to be address as Long term investors but we know Those who are real investors and Those who are just pretending to be one.
Basically, buying Bitcoin when the price is falling is not bad. But one should not wait for its price to fall. And it is not a good strategy for an investor to create a mentality to buy Bitcoin during a price drop. As a result, the opportunity to accumulate Bitcoin in front is lost. Instead of waiting for the price to fall, investors should use discretionary income to accumulate Bitcoin consistently through the DCA strategy. And an investor should always keep his plan in mind and continue to invest Bitcoin using the DCA method.
There are different strategies that we can use to buy and accumulate Bitcoin on a consistent basis, you have to find a strategy that fit you perfectly, personally I prefer to buy Bitcoin through the DCA method which is more efficient for a long term plans and sustainable, I don’t see any reason why I should be waiting for a price to come down before I can start buying Bitcoin, probably is working for other people but it’s actually not working for me because it will make me to loose opportunities of buying bitcoin, there are people who appreciate buying the dip, well I guess it’s also working for them perfectly.
DCA method works equally well for investors of all incomes. You may not have the same income or expenses as others, and the areas you need to spend on may not be the same areas for others. It is almost certain that just as there are differences between the rich and the poor, each investor will have different preferences and strategies when it comes to investment strategies. DCA method is the best and most suitable method for investors of all incomes to Bitcoin because no one is pressured to buy Bitcoin with a specific amount of funds. Investors will prioritize their earned funds to meet daily expenses for their families. Accumulation Bitcoin from the amount of funds left over/discretionary funds that you have after all your needs are met.
DCA is a good method for those who want to accumulate Bitcoin in small amounts over the long term from their regular income. It is not always the best or only suitable method for all investors. Everyone's income and risk-taking ability are different. The investment amount should be consistent with the individual's financial capacity. DCA allows investors to invest small amounts at regular intervals according to their ability, instead of investing large amounts of money at once. As a result, the pressure of making decisions based on short-term market fluctuations is reduced. DCA does not protect investors from market declines. It also does not eliminate the risk of long-term declines in the price of Bitcoin. The most reasonable position is that DCA can be a simple, disciplined and realistic Bitcoin investment strategy for many investors, but since every investor's financial situation is different, it should not be called the only or best method for everyone. It is more reasonable to determine the investment amount by considering personal income, expenses and risk-taking ability.

Personally,as long as what you are using to accumulate bitcoin over aggressively is your discretionary income and you can sustained it over the long term, you are not doing anything wrong. I think it is when you are accumulating over aggressive with money that is not your discretionary income that's when you're doing it wrongly because at some point in time you will likely tamper with your bitcoin portfolio prematurely and sometimes at a loss. For example, if you are accumulating bitcoin from your income over aggressively you might not be able to maintain that consistency for a long time because you have bills to pay and other basics needs to cover, you will likely sell your bitcoin portfolio at a loss to sort out your basic needs.

You have actually make the whole thing clear and I believe everyone will have better knowledge and understanding of this so they won't use their expenses money to invest thinking they are doing the right thing while they are doing the wrong thing. If someone is being aggressive with their discretionary income that is already cool but if you are using your emergency funds when you don't have plan to replace or when you use your your expenses money is very wrong because you can be tempted to withdraw when emergency come up

I am a new investor. I have just started investing a few days ago. From what I have learned so far from the discussions and experiences of senior members like you on this forum. I have come to the conclusion that those who invest their emergency fund money in the market are putting the main purpose of long-term investment at risk.

For me an emergency fund should never be investment capital. Because the main purpose of this money is to handle unexpected situations. If that money is invested in the market, then if a sudden emergency arises a situation may arise where the investment may be forced to sell at a loss. So from what I understand, if you want to invest in Bitcoin for the long term, you should keep the money for emergency fund and necessary expenses separate. Then, the money that can be released in the long term should be invested. Even if the market is volatile, there is no pressure to break the investment in case of emergency and an investor can maintain his long-term plan much more confidently.

In a case of Aggressive buying or lump sum, you still have to use your discretionary income, you cannot  use money that is meant for personal or basic needs or money that is meant for other business to invest, if so it would also be considered as gambling. We have seen people try this and at the end they were forced to sell because they needed  money for what the money was initially meant for.

Don’t because maybe you have at your disposal now, and money is suppose to be for your business, maybe you won’t be putting in your business till in 6 months time and your feel it best to invest it into bitcoin, that is totally wrong. At the end, what if in that 6 months the market is not favorable, you will be forced to sell at a loss and hour have jeopardize your business and your portfolio.

Actually every entrepreneur whose original initial plan was investing in long-term cryptocurrency accumulation via the DCA approach will have every chance to use another strategic method, depending on their financial condition and ambitions. When an investor is making investments with a DCA approach, and if along the way, an excess money comes to the investor, the investor can elect to perform a one-time buy with such amount no matter what the price is simply because his concentration is on investment for the future.

The downturn isn't the only time a shareholder can elect to take a one-time investment, especially if he's been buying bitcoin on an ongoing basis using the DCA approach, which allows him to acquire bitcoin at any given market rate. So waiting for a dip before buying in bulk is more of a trading mindset than a true investor approach. Investors can buy in bulk whenever they have the financial capacity to do so, rather than waiting for a dip in the marketplace as a whole.

Plus it depends more in the sophistication of the investor. But usually, people with more money to invest are more inclined to be more sophisticated. Therefore they use other methods of accumulation other than DCA, which might be better suited for their background and the amount of capital they have.

For PLEBS, and especially those PLEBS who have responsibilities in life, DCA is easier and easier for their financial situation.
That right, every Strategy have it own designed customers. The DCA is commonly used by every one because of it comfortability and durability. You know DCA have made it very easy for everyone to be a holder of bitcoin, and you don’t even have to have much funds before starting your investment.

There are others who don’t really prefer the DCA, these are people who go for Buy the Dip, these set of people makes sure they are financially buoyant everytime, so immediately there is a Dip they just buy and hold, then they begin to wait for another Dip.

Not that Buy the Dip is a bad strategy too, but for DCA really help to be an investor even with the little you have, it keeps you away from waiting for the market to drop before starting your investment. DCA saves you from a lot of stress.

I believe that from a psychological viewpoint of a person who likes to DCA as a personal choice for accumulating Bitcoin, it's probably more about treating Bitcoin as a savings account where they save/denominate the extra money they have after expenses in Bitcoin.

I have the same viewpoint, although I like to get a small discount for my minor purchases, and a BIG one for major purchases.

Aggressive or Over aggressive accumulation is not actually wrong, it is only wrong when it's done carelessly. The more you accumulate Bitcoin the better but you shouldn't forget about other expenses and just channel all your money into Bitcoin when you do not have a reasonable amount set aside as your back up. When you plan properly and abide by it it will be difficult to end up get to situation where you have to sell your Bitcoin. For starters you can't just start out with accumulating aggressively, you have to consider other expenses first and start small before increasing after some time

You are right, this practice you mentioned is actually trading but it is not all the time someone buy at dip that they will be seen or consider as a trader because sometimes investors are also privilege to buy during the dip especially those that are prepared before the dip happens they can decide to be overly aggressive because they are prepared. People who says they are investor when they are not... Is deceiving himself or herself and they will learn the hard way.
Yes you are correct, an investor is someone who is able to hold is Bitcoin for a period of 4 to 10 years, most of them participated a lot during the dip because they see it as an advantage for them to accumulate more. Despite they are involved in DCA method they actually use this opportunity to have more and also continue to be buying simultaneously either weekly or monthly. I consider a trader to be someone who is just buying and selling or even hold for a period of 1 year or two based on my own view, investors hold for a very long term. .

A trader does not have specific time for holding he sell at any given point in time that is favourable to him, all he his after is the profit and nothing more and more gat is why they are not regarded as holders but gamblers, they hardly can hold it for a year not to talk of two years because they are always scared of losing their funds no matter how little they believe that they cannot recover their losses since they don't understand that bitcoin holding is a long term investment off our to ten years or more to to get a reasonable reward since while using dca to accumulate the profit will not be equal because it is being bought at various buying point.

It's not wrong if you're lucky to have the Golden Opportunity to do it near Bitcoin's 200-Weekly SMA, WHICH happened from June to the first week of August.

 Cool

If you bought during that time, then congratulations to you. The only thing that you should currently do is HODL, and encourage our fellow PLEBS to DCA if they missed the opportunity of the DIP.

I think it would be wrong to mix trading, investing and gambling here. Investing in Bitcoin through Bitcoin accumulation and DCA in the long term is definitely important. For me, the main thing is how much risk a person is taking, whether they are using their discretionary income or not, and whether their cash flow and risk management are in order. I think it is better to keep our main discussion on long-term investment and accumulation of Bitcoin instead of discussing gambling. Because the purpose of this discussion should be how to invest in Bitcoin responsibly and hold it in the long term. Trying to make quick profits beyond your means is more risky. Therefore, accumulating Bitcoin from discretionary income through DCA and creating a mindset to hold it for 4–10 years or more is a realistic long-term investment strategy for me.

Those using the DCA methd would have definitely caught some cheap coins Within the range you described and those Bitcoin is already flying in profits now. Those still buying now are not left out because Bitcoin has so much appetite for the upside as we have seen how aggressively market reversed to continue the rise even above $81k. Those buying now are going to still be very lucky and when they HODL. Their joy will be endless.

The level that Bitcoin is at now, we cannot say that it is a very big level, because Bitcoin's current ATH is at $126K, that is, it is at a very low price at the current level. And so Bitcoin is very cheap now, and especially when it starts the next bull season, it will make an ATH even bigger than the previous ATH, that is, it can go to a much bigger level. And so do not think that Bitcoin is very expensive, because it is currently much cheaper than the level it can go to in the future. And so you should not delay in buying, if you want to achieve the success the level that Bitcoin can go to in the future, you have to buy continuously from now and only hold, then there will be a high possibility of achieving something big.

I consider a trader to be someone who is just buying and selling or even hold for a period of 1 year or two based on my own view, investors hold for a very long term. .
Both traders and investors actively buy bitcoin on a regular basis. What differentiates the trader from the investor is the interest to take profit anytime when the market is favorable. A trader doesn't have a long-term mindset. The desire to always be in profit is the ultimate goal. Whereas an investor is after long-term profit, much bigger than what he would get if he were a trader. It all comes down to individual choices. Are you the type that wants instant cash or the type that wants something to create value in your life?

I should have said, our fellow plebs who missed buying the DIP to Bitcoin's 200-Weekly SMA Line with a large allocation should be encouraged to DCA as their main accumulation strategy. BUT if it crashes near the 200-Weekly SMA Line again for the second time this year, take that Golden Opportunity and Buy the DIP and HODL.

Here you can invest and gamble. Investing in Bitcoin over time through Bitcoin accumulation and DCA is undoubtedly significant. For me, the most important factor is how much risk a person is willing to take, if they are spending their discretionary income, and whether their cash flow and risk control are in good condition.

I believe it is best to focus our main conversation on long-term Bitcoin investing and development rather than engaging in gaming. Because the goal of this debate should be to learn how to responsibly invest in Bitcoin and hold it for the long term. Attempting to create rapid riches beyond your means is riskier. As a result, accumulating Bitcoin from discretionary income through DCA while creating the attitude to retain it for 4-10 years or longer is a reasonable investment for the future.

Every investor should always remember that bitcoin is a long term investment, and emergency fund is very important, and anyone who want to start a bitcoin journey should never joke with it, emergency fund should be our top priority before investing in bitcoin, many investors have forced themselves to sell their bitcoin when they are not ready and it’s all because they do not have a good plan before buying bitcoin, some people think that using DCA method and other methods can make them use their emergency funds when it not needed at that particular moment, but what we should know is that no one knows when you will need the money, and if you use your emergency funds to buy bitcoin, you can sell your bitcoin to pay your bills when you are not ready.

Fyi an individual could hold for a minimum period of 4yrs and yet still be considered a trader.. Investors are determined majorly through their behavior and mentality... Let say for example you hold for 4 yrs but during that duration you depleted part of your portfolio all in an attempt to take advantage of little profit which were triggered by price pumps, just so they could buy back at cheaper prices...If such is the case then I actually consider such folk behavior as that which is close to that of traders, even if the individual was able to hold for 4 years.. Meanwhile an actual long-term investor care so little about short time profit, instead they are more focused on consistently accumulating so as to build a very solid Bitcoin position/or portfolio...

In long-term investments, it is not important when and at what price you buy. The purpose of an emergency fund is to provide financial security in uncertain situations. Therefore, investing the entire emergency fund in Bitcoin because you do not need it today can be risky. A person buys Bitcoin with his emergency fund money and after a few months he needs that money for some emergency reason. If the price of Bitcoin has fallen by 30–50% at that time, he may have to sell Bitcoin at a loss. However, if that emergency money had been kept aside, he would not have had to touch his long-term investment even during the market decline. The DCA method is not the solution to the problem here. DCA is basically a method of managing the time and purchase amount of investment. It is not a substitute for an emergency fund. You should not invest money in Bitcoin that is likely to be needed in the near future. Both emergency funds and long-term investments should be seen as part of your financial plan.

Yeah we should focus mainly on long term investment, and we have been talking much on emergency fund and DCA lately . Which is good , because both play a vital role when come to holding bitcoin . Same goes with your discretionary income, but let’s try and spice things up a little . So, I’m going to drop a few questions here, and hopefully they’ll spark some interesting discussions:

• What are the challenges that come with using DCA?

• What other strategies can one utilize for accumulating Bitcoin?

• What advice would you give to aspiring Bitcoin investors?

Challenges for DCA? It's the LEAST challenging - Buy weekly or monthly, at any price, with the money available after all expenses.

Other strategies is buying the DIP during the bear market with a larger amount of capital, IF available.

Advice I always give to our fellow PLEBS is - Buy the DIP, but most importantly, HODL.
