I have see some old threads of 2011/2012 which are posted in wrong section. People still post against some of them. If I report those threads, will mods move them to correct section, or it is suggested not to touch something if it is too old ?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

if the thread is from 2011/2012, there really isn't any point in reporting it, unless its still an active thread. If people are still posting in it as of late, then I suppose it can be moved, but if its burried on page 50,000 of the wrong section, its not really that imperative that it is moved, so it probably wont be moved.

If the thread is a few months old, check the activity, if no one has posted in the thread for months, the same thing applies. If it is still being posted in and not hidden by pages and pages of other threads, it can be moved.

Yes, necroposting is against the rules, and those replies will be removed. Necro posting is when you post in a very old thread for no good particular reason.

Ok... I just reported https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91662.0 to be moved to Scam Accusations. Though it is a thread from July 05, 2012, it has today's post too.

I was somehow reluctant in reporting some threads, mainly because I noticed in the past people complaining about their accuracy going down, but I noticed recently that 60% accuracy is somewhat average.
Nonetheless, I agree that old threads should be left alone and reports made on really old threads, if nobody has posted in them for a long time, should be marked as bad.

Accuracy doesn't matter!

It's better to report more threads than to report less because you're worried about that %

And to be on topic a little bit... I concur with the suggestion that reporting old threads that are still posted in is good, but there's really no need to report anything if the thread isn't on the first few pages.
