The famous Cathedral in France was heavily damaged by fire on Monday. As a result of the fire, the roof collapsed and the spire of the building fell. France’s President Emmanuel Macron has promised to restore Notre Dame de Paris. French billionaires, large corporations as well as bitcoin philanthropists have made donations for restoring the building.

"Apparently, so I am told, there exist "people" who prefer to wipe sitting down. From the front. Initial research indicates it could be up to half the population." -- benjamindees

I imagine we won't. That also sounds incredibly tacky. Smiley

Other French cryptocurrency enthusiasts have supported the appeal. At the press time, there have been collected just 0.02760433 BTC from 11 donations.

As of this writing, the [Binance] campaign has received 29 donations in 12 hours. Contributions top 1.47 BTC

Between these two Bitcoin charities, that's around 7,000 euros in donations, compared to the more than 1 billion euros donated by prominent philanthropists. It sounds like enough donations have already been received to cover the restoration entirely. I imagine the Church, given its global network, could probably have covered the costs itself anyway.

Seems like Changpeng Zhao didn't give much in spite of his billionaire status and all the publicity he generated around his charity.

Wouldn't call at all donations for restoring any church (or similar building) as a charity.
The title chosen here is so random...even if the bitcoin donations will represent more than 90%, it won't happen!

Yup, these so-called donations or charity is actually unnecessary. You don't need to donate your funds to someone who're able to fix their own problems. You should send it to somebody else who can't fix their own problems due to many reasons like poverty, limited access, doesn't have enough skill (so you should help them to learn it), etc.

Well, they're all in here for the publicity it seems.
