Creating a Website - Need Some Advice/Direction

I know BitcoinTalk loves Ideas, and well it just so happens, I have an idea

It's probably the best idea ever. It's gonna make millio... No... Billions of dollars.
It could be the next best thing since The Silk Road or Mt. Gox

But first - I need to pull the gun and get this thing going. Now that I have allocated some funding to getting it done.
That thing is a Website.

Now, Rest assured, I have no experience creating a website... And I'm quite bad at making decisions.
I have though, made 1 prime decision - I'm gonna do it and it's gonna happen

I watched hours upon hours of YouTube videos recommending where and how to do it - unfortunately, I assume each and every one of those youtubers are getting paid to shill a site regardless of how good it is. And there is too many options.

So- this is where your information is worth GOLD.

I'm going to need a website I can post content to, can easily change up and add to on a daily basis.

1. What Do-it-yourself all-in-one complete package Website builder would you recommend?
2. What Hosting would you recommend?

3. Would I be better off paying someone to build what I want? (If you build websites. Post a price)

4. Most importantly - A realistic cost associated with building and maintaining a website.

Tell me a more details about the website you are looking for. Is it a regular blog or an application type website where it will perform some set of tasks. Like an exchange, may be ebay where people buy/sell, e-commence (online store).

These days websites are not much expensive if this is not very complex and does not have millions of traffic.

2. I would suggest to go with namecheap. They accept bitcoins, hosting cost comparatively less. They do not have mod_log security option locked unlike hostgator meaning you have options in your hand

Looking at this I am assuming a simple blog? I just need to be sure about it.

Not exactly a blog. But the best example of the content setup I'm looking for would be from the ICO listing site  Coinschedule.com
The grid items you can click on for more info.
Though I'm not looking to list ICO's.

But the main part would be an online store.

So basically an information area having a grids with clickable links (easy daily changes to the links) and then also a separate area/store to sell items which would also need to be changed regularly.

1. I'd recommend Wordpress, for a blog type of site. I've seen a lot of journalists/people running blogs use WordPress templates. They are quite easy to use, and very cheap as well, if you want to keep things very professional though, I'd recommend hiring a couple of web developers to make everything off scratch, you'll have way more control over everything.

2. Anything cheap will work. A couple of friends use hostgator, so I'd recommend that, but it isn't the cheapest hosting service out there.

Tell you what. If you have nowhere to start and zero clue, then there's no harm in going on somewhere like fiverr or even putting up one of those "design" contests and put up a few dollars (well okay maybe $50 as a start) and see what designs come your way. 10 different fiverr guys give you 10 designs, give you a starting point.

I hate to say this but when it comes to a website, all that matters almost at the beginning at least is the design. You gotta attract all these millennials now (and they're your target group, well into their 30s and earning) to stand out at the beginning. Then you hook them with your brilliant idea and then it doesn't matter.

I have to say your design, your brand, look everything's got to be right from the beginning. Invest a bit on that and it saves you stitches down the line.

There are things to consider:

Do you need a static website with just a few pages you will edit from time to time or do you need a blog platform, a site where you publish content regularly?

1. If you have no experience Wordpress is pretty easy to use for beginners, it has tons of video tutorials, add-ons, and a big community. If it's too difficult for you then you can consider Medium or Blogspot, Weebly and Webs.com for free static website.
2. Hosting: Any site not owned by Endurance International Group (Bluehost, HostGator,...)
3. It needs some time but really as I said, anyone can manage a WordPress blog. Even a lot of teenagers have their own.
4. A realistic cost. A domain name is ~$6 average, but if you pay the hosting for a year you can get a free domain name. If you surf on webhostingtalk or Lowendbox you can find some cheap deal like 20$ per year or $1.5 per month. Good enough to make a website with small/medium traffic

You definitely should hire professionals, because if you are not a webdeveloper yourself, the process will be very long, and you'll have a very buggy and poor-looking product, which will very negatively impact your business. Also, don't hire cheap freelancers, they will only make buggy and insecure product that will cause more losses in the long run.

Learning or creating with your own isnt really bad but there are really times that you should really need to let the professionals do it.For a complete newbie who
do have that billion dollar idea with his own website it would be much better if the do let others create his web rather than creating with your own hands.It isnt really
that hard but yet too technical i do say and yes,programming cant really be learn on a short period of time.

For those who don't have any expertise or passion in the programming worlds, I suggest staying away from it since its a time consuming if you learn it from zero, you better to put your time to other things. Better keeps web development as a hobby.

No, web developments are hard. Note that If OP really talks about billion dollars idea every part of the business need to be done perfectly and professionally.

If you need a blog, go Wordpress, it is easy to update with your own content, and not relying on a web developer to make the changes everytime.
If you need a static page, go HTML.
I can do both, but I think you need a different thing: a website like coinschedule needs a programmer who makes a plugin to retrieve the data from other website, you need a ruby on rails, java, phyton, etc, programmer.

The best thing is to find a programmer or web developer from your area or your country . This will make easy for you to communicate and build a bug free system. Since you are planning to incorporate online store or marketplace along with the blog platform, I would suggest you to use vps hosting instead of shared hosting. By the way digital ocean is a good company . you can check with them .  In my country for making such a custom website would cost nearly 2000 dollars .

1. It is not recommended to buy your domain name and hosting at the same service providers especially if your talking about your "Billion Dollar" ideas.
Nonetheless,

2. I recommend Namecheap and Godaddy, I've been using their services for far i can remember and i can say it is great. I've experienced no downtime from those.

3. You'd better paying off if you don't wanna set it up on your own or you don't wanna learn something from it. The cost depends mostly on how complex your website would be. Otherwise, try to do it, practice makes perfect.

4. Nowadays, you'll spend no more than a $100 for a blog-type website. Including domain, hosting and templates. (You can get templates for free if you want to)
There are a lot of CMS (content management system) out there to start your template-ready website. But starting a website from scratch is another thing. That would cost you more than a hundred that's for sure not including the maintaining issue.

I do hope you get something from this.

EDIT:

If you think of something like an online store, you can use OpenCart CMS. It has an in-built credit card payment system and you can modify it according to you liking. We're talking about business here and i would suggest you pay someone professional to set it up for you.

This is pretty much what I wanted to hear... Or most likely needed to hear.
I hate bugs like most people, and your probably right on exactly what i'm trying to avoid.

I have decided to hire someone to work with me on it.

I really do appreciate the responses. A website business is something I have been wanting to get going for quite some time.
