Earlier today something happened which was really unexpected.
It happened maybe because of my point of view was wrong, maybe I should have shown sympathy instead of labeling the user as stupid.
or maybe I'm right from my point of view and I said the user what I thought to be appropriate for that particular user so that he learns something to prevent future mistakes.

I'm posting this topic to know who is right and who is wrong. Maybe I'm not seeing my own fault and it is obvious for a human I believe.
If I'm wrong then I don't have any problem to apologize and I also don't have any problem to change my point of view because I believe in improvements as I said it always.

I'm a man with ZERO egos, a peace lover, a trusted and a full of sympathy inside me for peoples. You don't know what I do for peoples in real life.
No can judge a person how sympathetic he could be by just judging only one post. I know what I'm and you guys don't know that and you just can't judge me with my post.

Maybe I'm not good at making friends, maybe I'm not good at praising my fellow members, maybe I don't make many posts, maybe I'm not earning much merits, does this make me a shitposter and untrusted?

I don't run after trust or to be in DT and I really don't work for these things. Is this makes me no one or a shit member of this forum?

I am what I am! I can say I'm just a simple guy.

Sorry to make my post long and waste your time. I know you guys don't give a fuck to know someone deeply but still I wanted to highlight myself so that you guys can judge me easily.

The case of that user:
One of the user posted a scam accusation where I labeled the user as nonsense/stupid because he didn't care the warnings (red trusts) before dealing with the scammer and the result he got scammed.
Just 5 days ago we tagged that scammer (seller) for scamming someone so that everyone gets warned not to trade with the seller. This is what Trust System suppose to be if I'm not wrong.

The reasons why I labeled him as stupid.
Quote
1. OP hasn't used escrow

2. OP is not new to this forum

3. OP is an active buyer of Digital Goods, and it is worth to say he knows how things work in digital goods section. I mean, how to identify scammers.

4. Maybe OP's account is an alt of one of the experienced forum member, this is just an assumption. Saying because OP's account is only used to buy from digital goods section. Mainly Giftcards.

5. When OP visited seller thread, the trust of that seller was clearly visible. Because of the negative rating we provided to that seller on 21st April. And OP dealt with the seller on 26th April. Check this Image.

6. OP intentionally ignored the warning to not trade with that seller, and yet he dealt. Just 5 days ago we tagged the seller for a similar case. Is it a smart move or a dumb move?

7. The user also got scammed before by another seller in 2018.

The problem is I didn't show sympathy by saying "sorry for your loss" and all that insults started to roll in.

Those two forum member's point is to show sympathy and my point was to prove he is stupid so that he learns from his mistakes and don't repeat the same thing again & again.

I will respect the judgment of the community. If I'm wrong then just say it, I will apologize. I don't have an ego and it will not prevent me to apologize.

Please try not to introduce some new arguments, instead please judge who is right or wrong.

Thanks for taking the time to make a right judgment.

Personally, without thinking so much about the scammed individuals, through out my life experience, there are some people who don't learn from only one or two mistakes. They get burned once, and they continue to make the same mistake once more. I don't know why this is so but probably it's because;
- They trust strangers too much.
- They are too careless for life.
- They think risk taking is worth it even when there are red flags.

But the fault is really up to them. They got warned but they still made the mistake.

They say "Once bitten, twice shy"
So i don't see any problem with what you think about them.

I assume to you are referring to this topic > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5136500.msg50785532#msg50785532

First thing first, if you aren't thick skinned, then you should probably stick to "read-only" mode , it's funny that you had to start a whole topic just because 2 random guys on the internet told you whatever you did was WRONG!.

so to sum up real quick, a member was scammed and started a scam accusation , and this was your response.

I think I should also tag this guy, just for complaining nonsense.

You didn't care about the warnings before you made the deal with that guy and now you came here to complain? Does it make any sense?  Angry

I have yet to find a single human who thinks such garbage does any good too anyone on planet earth, go ahead and show us all what did the victim get from you mocking him and asking whether to TAG him for getting scammed and starting a scam accusation.

I don't want to repeat myself again, just read my post again and once you are done with whatever shit you smoking, maybe it will make sense.

you have no idea what that money could mean for someone,  or how terrible they could be feeling now, being a smart ass and stating the obvious does not help anyone, such comments will keep people from reporting scammers.

you know what is the last thing a victim of scam wants ? >  reading something like your post or akamit's.

if you can't show sympathy or say something useful then sometimes the best thing to say is NOTHING.

having said all that, i do apologize for being a bit mean to you, i just couldn't see you two being mean to a poor soul who has just been scammed.

Take it easy.

I sometimes (or often) tend to be a condescending asshat but I don't think I've ever created a thread to whinge about someone calling me out on that. It's as if there is something in the food in the Bitcointalk cafeteria making us hypersensitive - there seems to be an increase of these "somebody said mean things" threads. Let's use the Ignore button more often that the New topic button.

Threatening to red-tag someone for calling out a scam because he should have known better?  Yeah, that's a dick move.

I have read the thread right now, its seems to me OP argument isn't make sense especially the comments about post count. That was a off topic  IMO. The accuser got what he deserve but he/she doesn't deserve tag just for not use of escrow or whatever you think. Accuser didn't bother to follow red tag of DT's and in a result he got scam. If he was follow the warning below the profile then there was not chance for scam.

Whoever wouldn't like to follow DT's warning then they will get return what they deserve. We can't save them and its impossible. Many similar case I have seen, these things are happening due to greed and they want to save escrow fee.

I'm with mikeywith in this case. I've checked the guy's (who was scammed) telegram combining with picture that he provided and found something: he's at middle age, non English speaker and a father of a small daughter. His English is not very good, I doubt that he couldn't even understand how the trust system works. It's his fault not investigating partner before dealing a business. He definitely learnt a lesson from his mistake but:

- There are various kind of intelligences. Just because of he was scammed doesn't mean that he's stupid. Judging him "stupid" and you're annoyed (I guess) with other's judgment about you by creating a thread. This is double standard, not any kind of "simple guy" with "zero ego

-
The problem is I didn't show sympathy by saying "sorry for your loss" and all that insults started to roll in.
That's a big problem because deep down inside your heart, you don't have any empathy for him. If you do, you should have show him how not to be scammed in the next time instead of stating fancy academic things marking from 1 to 7 that I don't want to re-quote here. Plus, you wanted to him tagged and thought he was alt of someone. I don't think a simple person has that kind of complicated thought.

- Next time, when you see a scam, an accident or a disaster and can't help, just leave and don't say anything.

So, you called someone stupid, someone told you that you shouldn't call people stupid and then you created this thread to ask community should you call someone stupid  Undecided

Are you dumb or something?

OP, take heed of this above.  This is what it all comes down to, basically.  I don't think there was anything inappropriate with what you wrote in that thread, and when you get criticism of that sort you just have to roll with it.  If that were me, I probably wouldn't even have gone back to that thread after saying my piece.

It's a cantankerous forum, full of vitriolic zings and if your hide isn't thick enough to withstand those things, just don't get involved with people who got scammed and don't write anything even remotely controversial.  However, I suspect that if you go hide in a corner you won't have such an enjoyable time here.  Therefore, buck up.  Dust off your sleeves and don't let it get to you next time.

Sometimes it happens people let their guard down and they got scammed. User can use the escrow but escrow does not come free.
Even you are fooled to use fake escrows.
You can keep your point and it does not matter that what do you think of scammed guy but you want to use "DT tag" against a scammed person.  You were not only rude there but shown your mental fickleness.

OP, I don't think that you did something wrong. If someone was scammed because he wasn't cautious, it's not neccessary to show empathy always. But probably it was better to don't say anything than calling someone dumb.
Personally, I'm trying to avoid leaving such comments. Mainly because that everyone makes mistakes, I'm also not protected from making mistakes. I imagine how this guy feels now. And probably it's not best feeling when after being scammed someone starts bashing you. Such comments just doen't helps and only may give image that we have toxic community on bitcointalk. I think in such cases it's better just to educate user what he did wrong without criticizing him too much. OP, just forget this and move on.

Just so the OP knows, I decided to remove my trust list exclusion (although I have not included you in my trust list either.) I figured you were just posting out of exasperation that someone had sufficient warning about a scammer and decided to go ahead and deal with them anyway, without even using escrow. However, I would advise not to be too harsh on victims, even if it clear that they are foolish. We want to encourage people to notify the community when they are scammed. Not only will it give opportunity for Dt members to step in and red tag the member, but everyone can benefit with the victim's story and shore up their own practices.

Well, just woke up now from my disappointment. Damn! I didn't notice that it's almost three days I spent in sadland. Time runs out very fast...
Btw, thanks to mikey and bones for sending me in sadland and giving me some time from my busy schedules to play with my 4yr old daughter and watch Game Of Thrones.

I want to say a lot of things, but it will lead to negativity in the end. This place is already full of negativity and if I speak up more than it will be extreme.
If I keep writing in regards to your posts then the thread will keep growing to 1000s of pages but the arguments will not end within a decade I guess.
Later, I will get a title of TROLL, and you guys will be honored with the title of TROLL BUSTER. No matter, if I'm right or wrong, in the end I'll have my title and you'll get yours.

I have my answers for all the posts so far from the community but I'll not answer. I have a feeling that everyone will go against me, but I'm unable to figure out why?

Things would not have come this far nor I'd have created this thread if Bones did not come up to insult me by taking Mikey's side. I would not have created this thread just because of Mikey's rude behavior. What I wrote in that thread for Mikey was a reflection of Mikey's own words but Bones shot me down by taking Mikey's side and that's why I became disappointed. When two guys are having an argument or fighting then the third person should try to settle the situation and if he can't settle then it is better to say nothing or do nothing. What if, Bones took my side and insulted Mikey? Of course, Mikey would have the same feeling I had at that moment. Believe me or not, I wouldn't support that instead asked to leave Mikey & me alone by saying we will sort our own problem.

Another thing is if Mikey posted before me on that thread with his sympathy, would I said to him that your post doesn't make any sense because I didn't agree and later started to rude behave? I guess no. I would have not replied to his post and I would have just written my own point of view. When I posted on that thread I checked scammer's profile and I also checked victim's profile. When I saw the victim also got scammed before with a large amount than the current one then I became angry on him and tried to show the right path in my way. I know I was harsh with the victim at the beginning and maybe we could have a pleasant end but Mikey entered in the middle and became a barrier and the topic became off-topic.

OMG! my shitpost is getting long. I don't want to write anything else. Those who are able to understand the fact can do it by reading some lines and those who are unable will not understand ever by any means.

Anyway, I apologize to anyone who got disappointed by my behavior.

I'm locking this thread now because I don't think it will serve anything for me except for more insults.

PEACE!  Smiley
