You can send your btc and exchange to fiat or send fiat and exchange to bitcoin through their internal exchange.
First you exchange to their internal currency, and than to btc or fiat so in such way Paypal can't know that your money come from bitcoin.

The only place i've used to buy Bitcoin with Paypal is this forum's Currency Exchange sub board it's convenient since there's so many trusted users. If you're starting or searching a thread on the sub board you have to be careful on some of the people who have no trading history.
