Look, you dont buy after the ICO (just to make an example since it is just the same).
You buy at Pre ICO for bonuses and will not try to buy afterwards since dumps happen after listing.

All the coins coming from crowdfunding suffer the same fate, but it's the project and the roadmap is the one that matters, coins go down and up but eventually will have demand in the market, once the platform and roadmap has been realized, very seldom that a coin that just entered a market will not suffer a dip.

IEO is still an ico because they just list there coins from those exchange to attract some people in investment and to buy it from exchanges. Its a good way to gain for their sales to gain money and reach the minimum they need.

They are "sort of" more profitable but that is because IEO tokens are checked out by the exchange before hand and makes you research less, if you go into IEO you know that coin must be at least not scammer, that doesn't mean it won't fail, the creators and the team could suck and fail and the price could drop but at least they won't scam you.

Now in ICO, there are plenty of scammers too and failures too but do not forget some of the most awesome ICO coins that came up and made like 1000%+ profits to their investors as well. We can say that best of ICO's and best of IEO's will be about the same but the worst of ICO is much worse than the worst of IEO's and that is the difference, highs are about the same but you get less risk and better lows when you go into IEO.

IEO's are the exchange's projects. Exchanges make rules on this stage. If they don't MM I'm sure all projects wouldn't raise quite enough money. But with MM from exchanges IEO become lottery for participation and instruments for specific coins aka exchange profits. It's manipulation but in the next stage of scam

Time and market, over time, will show what is more profitable. I still watch some IEO projects and analyze them, and how their tokens behave in the market. I can say one thing, IEO has certain advantages that ICO's cannot now provide.
