It's sad to see how much has the industry of altcoins changed since scammers start sticking their nose into ICOs. Unfortunately right now I don't know if there is anything we can do since most of the projects are closed and deleted, while the owners are long gone with investors funds. Yes, it is really sad if ICO or Altcoin projects become a scam after collecting funds from Investors, I really hope that in the Crypto world this will make strict regulations and provide penalties for scammers. I hope that now.

Not until we start seeing crypto scammers get arrested for real many new investors won't join,I have friends that won't join crypto because of scammers running away with ICO funds forever ,no way to arrest them and get the funds out of them,the few news I read about getting some scammers is not enough ,the more there is an effective way the less scammers will harm crypto

The question is if people will still not fight it being regulated, fine it can be legalized, but I am sure people will still have issue with its regulation, because majority of them feel that once it is being regulated by the government, they will still be able to monitor their transactions.

For me, I don’t have any issue with government monitoring my transactions because I have nothing to hide, the speed cryptocurrency payments has brought solution to slow and third party involvement is more than enough for me to continue with the system for the rest of my life. So if regulating it is what it will take for these crypto scammers to be wiped off, then I am in full support of it.

This is really sad, scammers can do what they want because they are not being arrested because we also don't know their real identity because some ICO's didn't introduce themselves maybe because their way to run for their responsibilities. I don't know why there are still a lot of people doing this. I don't want my family to eat their food from a bad activity like this.

The OP is not entirely correct since there have been scammers who were arrested in some countries(afaik). More often than not, however, most of them run scot-free. Theses ICO scams have led some governments to consider its regulation and worse; implementing its total ban. Once regulated, well, kinda totally beats the purpose of having the blockchain tech which allowed full anonymity among users, eh? Ultimately,  scammed investors are left to decide if they will discontinue or simply shrug it off. Best tip yet, do thorough research first and look for red flags before investing your money in any ICO.

It is a terrible situation and indeed a pitiful situation to see scammers and hackers doing what they love to do. Binance got hacked. ICO got defamed due to scams. The system is really vulnerable and prone to attacks and an exchange like Binance could get hacked, there should be no doubt that Bittrex could also be targeted. It is important to look into every project before investing in the project and take care of your security keys.

IEO is an interesting way to screen out such scammers. if you see that the project has a partnership with some kind of high-quality exchange, then I think you can be sure of your reward. but it is not 100%

yup you are right, there is a way when the problem comes. Ico is now extinct, now it will be replaced with the IEO. many people are very enthusiastic about the IEO because it's so easy to make a profit

But due to progressive taxation and many other factors, they in the same time fear regulations. BTW the crypto space is highly regulated in the US and government makes sure it is not misused. Had there been regulations, there would have been very rare scam activities but that is not what has been happening since long. We got Binance hacked last day. But that was purely a failure of the exchange security and has nothing to do with cryptocurrency.
