Personally I would start with converting the shitcoins to Bitcoin, you would need a 10x to break even so about 50k Bitcoin (which will happen if Bitcoin succeeds), I would personally also dollar cost average in to lower your break even point. when you fill your bags with nonsense altcoins, you are not creating a portfolio. you are instead creating a higher risk bag that is guaranteed to lead you into bigger losses compared to if you only had bitcoin alone.
a real portfolio is when you diversify into different financial assets such as as stocks, bonds, gold and bitcoin. not when you have bitcoin and buy altcoins to "diversify".
it has been proven that whenever bitcoin rises or falls, the altcoins fall hard so when you bag hold them you are not only reducing the profit you may gain you are also increasing the chances of losing a lot of money. hence your 90% loss.

If I had to recover from a portfolio that was down 90%, I'll be honest, I would probably sell off the assets that I retained (especially if they're shitcoins) and start all over with a fresh set of assets. I don't think there's a good recommendation for recovering from such a substantial drop aside from having another go at investing with a new and separate portfolio if that's what you want to do. There might be a better way of recovering those losses, which don't involve investments in altcoins again, but it's completely up to you as to what you want to do.

The only potential thing I can see to reliably recover such a significant portfolio loss would be starting your own business in crypto, but that may require a lot of skills which are not necessarily common or skills that you even have to begin with, and there's a chance the business might flat-out fail. There won't be a way to recover it without mitigating the risk present in altcoins, which might very well wipe out your remaining portfolio value. I don't know how you'll dig yourself out of this hole, to be honest. Best of luck.

Shitcoins are dead trap that lead to nowhere but sighs and stupid regret. I got rekted by a shitcoin, nevertheless because of the team behind the project, I converted a major part of the 90% loss to bitcoin and I would buy some good altcoins that had up coming events, once the events were very close, I sold off and make some profit, and return back to the shitcoin and traded to take some profit at every pump. It depends on the shitcoin that he invests. Some of "so-called shitcoin" have the potential to increase valuation over a period of time. I will give some example. Hiveterminal($HVN) They are down now from there all time high due to many reason. But take note that during there all-time high, They don't have any product and just a whitepaper. And now they have a working product and slowly acquiring user to use the platform. So who knows what price they can reach now on next bull run.

It is bad to hear about your loss but this is uncertain market and you can win and loose anytime. I think you guys will get your value recovered. My strategy with Bitcoin when I loose value is I HODL until I reach back my initial value of investment and start gaining. I would have suggested you the same strategy had you had Bitcoin.

Feeling sad that you have losed fund on trading. I don't know about your trading strategy. But I am suspecting that you have made few mistakes. Like you have jump each coin to another coin and that was almost shitcoin. First thing is you need to select a better exchange who will not add much shitcoin. It's possible to recover by trading with proper way and need enough patience. First you should use stop loss, so your loss will be minimized. If you like to jump another coin then obviously choose a potential coin which will likely up trend. Don't make multiple decisions and don't be confused. Do whatever you want with confident. There is few guidelines about trading on this board just try to search and learn more.

Are the shitcoins you invested into dead already? Compare their volume and daily trading limits and you can even now have some faith from those shitcoins if they are not yet dead tokens. HODL no matter what the situation becomes and once the price for the coin goes below your stop-loss than there is nothing rather then to sell those coins at a loss of hold them if you have any faith in them.

Be patient and never panic sell. If you want to yet cover your losses then you should invest in some of the major altcoins who can show us good growth ahead in these coming bull markets. Partying sounds a lot unprofessional. Peoples who have time for partying have very less time for their financial career. No matter what the situation turns, you should never forget why you are here. You are here to have some good profits and not just to buy some shitcoins and concentrate on partying. The investments you make will make you rich tomorrow so you really have to think twice before you invest into any coin.

A perfect investment can lead you have immense profits ahead. Starting early investments is also a good sign of profitable future. The best is to keep that portfolio aside till the bull run comes and start investing in newer projects that have very good products, at least by now, I am sure that you would have leant from the mistakes you made in your investment that led you to accumulating much of those shitcoins.

Those shitcoins will still come back to life during the altcoins season, but I may not promise that you will see profit then, but I can guarantee that you will be able to get your capital out, which you can then use to invest in bitcoin, but we still have a long way to go in this. So pending that time, buy new good coins and trade with it.

If I were you, the first thing I would do is study how to trade like a professional. If you succeed in this, get rid of your smallest bags which looks dead (no dev, abandoned, etc). Sell them for BTC. Use this BTC to trade.

The most promising ones you keep for the next three years, you never know. You can also try to increase the size of these bags by trading them.

It is bad to hear about your loss but this is uncertain market and you can win and loose anytime. I think you guys will get your value recovered. Not all altcoin are bad, I assume you have ETH and maybe Litecoin and if you see the list for the best coins in the market, they are there. My strategy with Bitcoin when I loose value is I HODL until I reach back my initial value of investment and start gaining. I would have suggested you the same strategy had you had Bitcoin.

Its not really mandatory yet it would be suggested to take it slowly when it comes to recovering your loss because if you do stress out yourself too much then it would rather result to more further loss.

Losing is inevitable and going deeply on 90% loss is really very stressful if you are a trader or investor. Finding ways to recover wont really be that easy along the way.

That would be a good solution if the price were not going down too deep.

There's nothing we can't do about it, shitcoins are a pain in the ass and should be sold while there is a market for this, but if you have a coin that just suffering from a bear market, then you can hold it and extend your patience not to sell it and wait for the right time you can recover all your losses, you can never put a good coin down as long as developers are serious in developing their platform.

agree with you. I did just that. sold low-capitalized cryptocurrencies and bought coins from the top - 10. Because most altcoins cannot sustain a long-term downtrend and simply go bankrupt.

Usually, shitcoins has very little to no value, so I guess it will be better to just leave those shitcoins in your portfolio if it doest really give you any good value for the mean time in return to buy another one. This condition has ever happened to my life and what I have done is, just trading more and not to add more capital until I know how exactly how to recover. The only strategy is to learn anything even just a bit. You should easily recover your funds just by trading as the market is still in a weak form (in my opinion), where anyone can easily take a huge returns from their information.

If there are altcoins that you have bought that are not profitable , I will advise you to exchange them for bitcoin. After you might have exchanged them for Bitcoin you can start to worry about how to recover from the 90%. Buh damn that’s a big loss you had, were you asleep when this occurred? Or you were trading all and forgot to setup a stop loss? I can’t really take such a risk. You can start trading daily to recover those losses.

The problem is they bought shitcoins. Shitcoins are called such because more often than not they end up without value or you have to wait years before you can break even. Being down 90 percent can be depressing enough if you're holding bitcoin, ethereum or other legitimate alts but being down that much with worthless tokens is a lot worse. Charge it to experience dude and make sure to learn from it.

Learning from your mistakes is a lesson. It seems like you have identified the major factors, buying a rally and buying alts.
You mentioned a "portfolio" I would argue that diversifying in the crypto space is mostly folly. Consider this. If cryptocurrency is still around and growing in 20 years then it is highly likely that Bitcoin will still have value and perhaps the highest value, like now. If bitcoin is not here in 20 years then it is unlikely any open-source, peer-to-peer, blockchain currency will exist. The alts are based on the same technology and do not offer any real market diversity. So in my opinion it is better to buy the gold standards in completely different markets. Buy bitcoin cryptocurrency, buy gold metal, buy productive land, buy AAA stocks.

As far as buying into a rally... That is okay if you are looking at a longer term investment and you believe in the future of your investment. If you are trying to play the volatility as a day trader then you are in a brutal market where tomorrows price doesn't matter anyway. Alts tend to not have a future beyond tomorrow.

Listing your portfolio would be a better way to start things rather than starting a vague topic, there are thousands of coins in the market and if you are not willing to reveal in which coins you have invested, it is really hard to give any advice, if you have invested in shit projects there is a possibility that you wont be able to recover those losses at all and all the shit projects shut their doors when the market went down due to funding issues and there might not be any revival.

There is a way that exists and is to make trading in scalping, is a very risky way, but if you have security according to the movimeintos and if you do not let liquidate in the right Exchange you can go recovering little by little, it is not that it is the most quick, you can suffer some loss but it is very likely that you will recover.

I always execute this idea in Bitmex, since I place my orders when the market is in a strong movement, whenever a strong movement occurs it is good to check what is most likely to happen, because it is the easiest way I have found to make money , not much but starting to recover.

You have to be careful with the leverage, because scalping trading usually do so with leverage at x25 so that the risk is not as exaggerated as that of x100, since those who leverage are therefore the most likely to liquidate their positions.

That's a very bad idea, he knew that he bought shitcoin and the price fell and made him lose 90%. what do you expect from shitcoin which has a price that falls to almost worthless? there is no choice but to sell it and try to be more selective in choosing coins, don't buy when the price is high dude, buy it when the price is in dip
