Hey guys.  I've been looking to purchase some PIVX lately, as I've been staking it for a couple of months and just want to add to what I have.

Since no one here responded to my thread, I started looking to buy PIVX on various exchanges--and I don't use too many.  Here's the problem:

Binance sells it, but their PIVX wallet is suspended.  No deposits or withdrawals happening.

Yobit's PIVX wallet is also down for maintenance and has been for at least a week.

UPBit (an exchange I'd never heard of) sells PIVX, but their wallet is also down for maintenance.

My question is whether there's something going on with the coin that I'm not aware of, or if this is a major coincidence that all of these exchanges' PIVX wallets are down for maintenance.  I don't even know what that term means, but whatever.  Anyone heard anything?

I do not use this coin, but looked in their official public on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/pivx/comments/bk10m3/pivx_disabled_on_exchangea/

If exchanges still sells this coin till yet, then you should know that maybe the wallet is in a kind of maintenance, I have seen this happen a couple of times with so many wallets including ethereum whereby so many exchanges had to freeze the activities going on with the coin until the ethereum team could release an updated node to solve the problem that was on ground then, so it's no new thing, you just need to wait for the upgrade.

Ah, that helps.  I honestly didn't think about doing a web search for the problem, because every time I've searched for info on PIVX I just get a bunch of results from coinmarketcap and similar sites, which isn't helpful to me.  Not a huge fan of Reddit (and that's putting it kindly), but it figures the answer to my question would be there.  I even checked the PIVX discussion forum and didn't see anything.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I guess I got spooked.  I mean, if you own a coin and suddenly you can no longer trade it on an exchange then you're holding a bunch of worthless digital junk.

This is probably due to the vulnerability discovered: https://pivx.org/zpiv-vulnerability-identified-official-comment-from-devs/
At present, all (including exchanges) need to update the PIVX Core: "PIVX Core v3.2.0+ is a mandatory update for all block creators, masternodes, and integrated services (exchanges)".

PIVX price fell by 50% relative to Bitcoin. It's just terrible, I keep it on and do not even know what to do. But it's really too late to sell PIVX ((
Not for nothing, but if you're looking to sell a little bit of PIVX, please see my thread in the altcoin marketplace section.  PM me if you're interested.

I'm not too concerned about its price, though I definitely don't want it to crash.  I'm more interested in experimenting with staking it, and I've had two "payouts" in this past month--better than what I was expecting, actually.  What worried me when I saw PIVX suspended on all of these exchanges was that I'd have nowhere to sell it if it came to that.  I'm glad it seems to be a technical issue and not that it's being delisted.

I actually followed your previous threads and it's sad to say the future of PIVX looks bleak.  I actually traded the currency in time pass but with the issues lately with mining and now exchange supports I think it's best u reconsider before going full throttle on PIVX..
