tokeweed, why you have chosen Pyfer over Izzy? Would be very disappointing if that fight is going to ruin your parlay. You think Izzy is that bad already? Reach is Izzy advantage, experience, mentally he is more ready. Izzy will be Pyfers most serious test today. Its going to be 5*5min fight. Pyfer had such long fight only once and lost. Probably it is needed to rewatch that fight to check his stamina. 

Dunno..  Just a hunch.  Lol.  And we shouldn't really be scared to lose the parlay as we're mostly doing those for fun.  And here's the thing, what if we picked Adesanya and see Pyfer win..? 

All in all it's a long shot.  There are 13 match ups to get right so getting the main event right is the least of our worries.  But yeah, I'd like it if you guys post your picks so we could discuss.

I would be cautions with my picks. I would go with Izzy, just for his past experience and achievements. Barber seems to be an easy pick, as Grasso hasnt won since 2023. Even though Grasso is higher in rating, Barber with 7 win streak will drive it into the ground. Dunno why Price is still in UFC. Whenever I look on his record, I prefer to look away I am only not sure of winning method. He has submissions and UD in his record, but it is a chance that we will see Chiesa first TKO

I think the whole card is unpredictable except for the main fight. I think Adesanya will win because of his fighting experience; he's fought a lot of people like Potatan himself and Anderson Silva early on, and the distance he has contributes a lot.

I have got to say that I haven't been so excited about a fight in a while as I am about watching Strickland and Chimaev.  I'm really hoping for a surprise there with Strickland bringing home the win.  A shame we have to wait more than a month to see it.  Feels like they announced that fight earlier than usual or something.  I'm not used to waiting on fights.

This is now or never for him, but Pyfer is younger, in better form, and he is underdog in this fight if we look at bookmakers odds.

Like him or not, Evloev has done more than enough to get the title fight. Hopefully Volk would do something to make it more interesting.

They used to call Izzy as one of the best strikers. Now he faces younger opponent after 3 losses and immediately he isnt such a huge favorite. Like defending title 6 times and huge experience is nothing.

As they say, you're only as good as your last performance.
He was at the top with a 20-0 record before he was served his first loss to Jan Blachowicz (in the light heavyweight). In his last 3 fights, he lost in all kinds of ways, he got TKO'ed, submitted and outstriken over 5 rounds. There's no way his mentality is even remotely the same as when he was undefeated. The invincibility vibe that he had is gone, and he needs to reinvent himself if he wants to stay at the top.

This Alex Volkanovski is being very brave because he has very much witnessed the weakness of the Russian Evloev hehehehe. I reckon uncle Dana should call Jean Silva and bark on Volkanovski's head with a knockout!

In any case, there is another underestimation from the oddsmakers. This is the sexy fighting kitten Alexa Grasso. Why is she the underdog against the fat Macy Barber?

I don’t have any intention of betting on this fight. I will definitely be watching though. I like watching Chimaev fight and think he is a monster, but I like Strickland as an entertainer. His press conferences are the best since McGregor. I hope he wins.

I've been betting on the UFC for a while, but I rarely visit this thread. Last week, I only managed to secure 8 of the 10 fights.
I often bet on one of the UFC partner platforms. They offer a selection of 10 fights, and these are my picks for this week's UFC.

Fully agree that Evloev should have had a title fight long ago. He deserves it like nobody in his division. He must have fought anyone who was champ when he was on winning streak of 5-7 wins. Imho this is enough wins for any fighter to have chance to fight for title. Otherwise it makes situation stupid like it is with Evloev and some other guys, who have win streaks of almost 10 fights and they still have to prove something. Dunno, maybe contract with Paramount force UFC match makers to make fights more entertaining to watch, than to find out who is the best.

^  Whether the fight against Lerone Murphy was boring or not, Evloev really deserves the title shot.  It would be hugely disrespectful if they didn't give it to him again.  If ever they decide to give it to somebody else then they prolly should prolly get some decently popular fighter from 135 to move up or somebody from 145 to move down.

Yup and there's also the luck factor for Pyfer as Adesanya has been getting finished lately.  He even got knocked down by Strickland who isn't know for have power in his hands.  So as an underdog shot, I think Pyfer is live.

I think I've said this before, but there's a very clear phrase about this situation:

Everyone has a strategy until they get punched in the face.

Chimaev can be whatever he is, he can have beaten anyone, he's still subject to losing. But obviously, I agree with you that the chances are very low. But you also need to analyze the data you have. Chimaev may have a long winning streak, but what if his game is neutralized in the fight? The chances are high, considering he has a streak of 9 wins; there's a lot of material to read and understand. So, it's kind of 50/50. But with a greater favoritism for the fighter who has won more often.

I think Adesanya is still the more technical fighter with better form and distance control, so if he sticks to his usual style he should win this.
Most likely outcome for me is Adesanya by decision or late TKO.

But if Adesanya loses, it’s probably because he gets caught clean while trading or underestimates Pyfer’s pressure early.

It's that situation where, if we mere spectators can see that the opponent's game is like that, the fighter probably knows it, at least it's their obligation to know. So I think fighting experience will count for a lot in this situation.

I think the fact that Adesanya is not in the best place in his career right now can create some bias towards Pyfer. But it's not like Pyfer is any young and promising prospect and he has some holes in his game. His record is OKish, but the biggest name he ever fought is probably Kelvin Gastelum. He already has 3 losses to his name, but things will only get tougher as he progresses.
Picking the right strategy for the fight could be tricky for Pyfer and his team. He has some wrestling/jiu-jitsu background but he doesn't shoot for takedowns very often, and his takedown accuracy stands at 33% (per the UFC stats). Izzy's takedown defence is still pretty solid. Unsuccessful takedown attempts can drain energy pretty quickly. On the other hand, going into a striking exchange would be playing right into Izzy's territory. Pyfer does have some good agility and footwork, but I'm not sure if he could keep that up for 5 rounds.

If the fight goes to a distance, I think Izzy is more likely to get the decision win.

His situation reminds me a lot of how Walker fought. He showed off a lot and fought, but the showmanship overshadowed the fighting and he ended up losing. However, there was one fight where he was very restrained and strategic, using only his fight IQ. So, I think Adesanya's situation is similar to that. He just needs to use his experience to win.

I think differently. I think being too cautious is what caused him to drop in performance. Prior to all those losses, he had a bold and quite aggressive style. The overconfidence and perhaps lack of respect for his opponents' skills is what enabled him to take risks, throw unconventional strikes from weird angles etc. At this stage of his career, his best bet is to try to return to what has worked for him in the past rather than switching to something defensive and reactive.
I'm hoping to see a striking masterclass, not two guys dancing around throwing some jabs in the hope of winning on judges' scorecards.
