Tuivasa didn't take his first fights in the UFC seriously.

After his 3rd straight loss to Sergey Spivak, Tuivasa realized he needed to make a change and trained at American Kickboxing Academy in california. Apparently making that change and seeing many talented fighters in the gym everyday was what he needed to get motivated.
Tai Tuivasa just blew my mind with his performance. He was a fun loving guy but after seeing him loose three fights in a row, i thought he will not reach a title shot but he was improving after that he took his career seriously and i know he was knocking out his opponents but Derrick Lewis is a step up in competition.

Derrick Lewis surprised with his take downs which i never thought he would try and in the second round they stood and banged as promised and Tai Tuivasa knocked out Derrick Lewis Shocked.

Derek Brunson and Jared Cannonier was a crazy fight. Derek Brunson dominated the first round with his takedowns but in the second round Jared Cannonier knocked the sense out of him and that elbow strikes on the ground were nasty even the corner threw the towel.

Now time for the main event. I am expecting another great fight.

Crypto.com being the official sponsor for the UFC, both Adesanya and Whittaker have come carrying the crypto.com logo. The match is gonna start soon. Both are being checked by the refree. The rules and regulations are being read. Herb Dern stands as the refree.

ROUND ONE HAVE BEGUN

Both were having good patience, but the fight seems to be very effective.
After three rounds of fight it looks like Whittaker on the upper hand.
Whittaker is on good aggression.
After round 5 both showed the real sportsmanship to teg world.
Israel Adesanya win the middleweight Championship.

Really sad for Bobby Knuckles, it seems that he can forget being a champ as long as Adesanya is in the division. Bobby is a year younger than Adesanya but has more mileage with tough opponents, so I doubt he will see Izzy stepping down while in his prime. I don't know who's left in the division for him to fight, except the champ, and he will not be getting a third shot just like that, I imagine Cannonier getting that title fight next, and if he loses then we might see a rematch between Whittaker and Cannonier.

See, I told you Tai Zuivasa is gonna be the next champ Cheesy

Tuivasa came and did what he makes all the time. Tactics is simply - land heavy punches with a bunch of low kicks. Everyone knows what to expect from, however Lewis did not use that info. And showed his ring dive victory dance, but this time while being asleep Cheesy

I have confused feelings after watching main event. Yes, Adesanya won by UD. At first I thought that will be a copy of their first fight. But after a knockdown, Whittaker somehow woke up and started to be more aggressive. From round to round his accuracy only increased. "On the legs" Adesanya was better, no doubt, but in punching, I think they were equal. Frankly, not the most exciting fight to watch. Or Whittaker was cautions than usually. Or Adesanya did not show his max.

No doubts about Adesanya before the fight, he is a super talented fighter who doesn't look like much in appearance, but a force to reckon with in the UFC. IMHO, i think for the now Adesanya is the best Middleweight boxer, and he will be for a while with his very good reflex, balance & counter attack. He makes fighting look so easy with a touch of style but still as deadly as a viper. Congratulations Champ on retaining his belt.

I completely missed the fight as I thought it would be tomorrow. Anyway, I lost my bet on under 4.5 but how was the main event? I'm yet to watch the full replay (watched highlights only) but I can see the close score on two judges. Was it really that close?

I'm glad I skipped betting on Lewis by KO Grin

edit: Yeah it's a close one. If only Rob could keep him on the ground but Izzy is surprisingly great at defending or recovering.

It's a close fight to me that it came out almost the same as the first fight in which Adesanya couldn't throw a clean strike to Whittaker. The points though are not close.   Adesanya might just still be the winner if there will be another fight for the two. UD is just not what people want to see whenever Adesanya fights.

Right after Lewis fell, you can see how Tuivasa danced like a kid. You wouldn't expect it from other heavyweight fighters.

The result of the UFC 271 was an amazing event and pretty much I was shocked by some results but it was worth it.

Israel Adesanya VS Robert Whittaker - WIN

It was a genius fight, Robert Whittaker doesn't stand a chance from the distance because Izzy is giving him leg kicks from the distance, and Whittaker is not checking on them or having any defense at all from Adesanya's leg kicks, and because of Israel Adesanya's reach this is 100% possible and effective against Whittaker, but still kudos to Robert Whittaker you can see that he improves his boxing, But it is not enough even though there are takedown attempts for Whittaker this kind of game plan is not effective against Adesanya because Israel Adesanya has pretty good takedown defense.

Derrick Lewis VS Tai Tuivasa - LOST

Derrick Lewis has a lot of fans cheering for him you can surely hear from outside the ring But Tai Tuivasa that leg kick was respected by Lewis, and when Tuivasa would pretty much Give a faint Leg Kick on Lewis and then a fast charge on Lewis giving him knee's while holding Lewis from the cage, kudos to Derrick Lewis high kicks and from that he has landed a big punch on Tuivasa but was held by him but a huge takedown from Lewis and the beast was on top and that exchange of punches I though that Tai Tuivasa wouldn't going to counter that but he has proven that he has a sturdy chin that is pretty much a good exchange of punches, Tai Tauvasa has the speed and the toughness to withstand blows from Derrick Lewis kudos to that if Lewis would deliver his strikes Tuivasa would counter and exchanges of blows would occur, for me, it was an intense fight Derrick lewis was pretty much hurt and becomes wobbly from that exchange it was a great win for Tuivasa, I was really shock, Tai Tuivasa has a durable and tough chin in my opinion.

Israel Adasenya fought really brilliantly, she knew what her opponent could do, she was really well prepared for this, she lost very little effort while winning this match, adesanya was breathing through her nose even at the end of the match, she didn't look tired at all. Whitteaker was much more efficient than his first match, he was afraid of taking a counter punch no matter what, he somehow reduced the distance and threw punches, but he could not tie it back, likewise, he was successful in the takedown attempts, but he could not continue it, it was a good fight, congratulations to both fighters.

Tuivasa has quickly become one of my favourite fighters in the UFC. The thing I love about him is, even when he's getting absolutely battered, as he was by Lewis multiple times in that first round, he basically just bites down on his mouth guard, and swings for the heavens. I love that about him, and very rarely do you see that nitty, and gritty response. Usually, fighters try to duck their way out of it, get away, and then reset. Tui just goes for it, and while it definitely isn't always going to work in his benefit, it is entertaining to watch.

Seems a good guy outside of the UFC too, and isn't afraid to have a bit of a laugh. Adesanya did what he needed too, but to be honest I wasn't convinced he won that by the margin that some people think he did. I thought going in the final round there was an argument for it to be 2-2. Whittaker definitely could have taken that if he just took a few more risks every so often.

Yup sad.  But the line def had value at 3.50 at the day of the event.  The match was close with Adesanya winning it 3 - 2.  Whitaker should’ve shown a bit more aggression at R1.  He gave that round away...

And I think too soon for Whitaker vs Cannonier although that would make the most sense.  But nobody wants to watch that so the UFC would prolly feed either Whitaker or Cannonier somebody like Sean Strickland imho...  Andre Muniz should also be given a top 10 guy this year with the hope he wins.  That would put a fresh face in there.

Tai Tuivasa surprised everyone because it is a huge leap in competition of him and he just showed his drastic improvement in his game plan and when things are going rough he was biting down and swinging probably against one of the heaviest punchers and Lewis landed some heavy solid shots and he was able to absorb that.

Seems a good guy outside of the UFC too, and isn't afraid to have a bit of a laugh. Even i thought the fight was 2-2 going into the last round because Whittaker was able to land take downs multiple times even though he was able to stand up. His legs were chopped up and Whittaker was one dimensional as i never saw him throw a right hand in this fight.

It was a hard night for me because I'm a fan of both of them. The only fighter I really didn't want to lose on the night was bam bam, who obviously pulled out that insane elbow knockout against one of the most deadly knockout artists in the game. I had a bet relying on Adesanya which netted me a nice profit. Like I said the previous week it was a x52 accumulator which came in, though I wouldn't have minded Bobby taking it honestly. He worked hard, looked ten times better than he did in the previous fight, and honestly I thought he did enough on the night.

I imagine we see these two fight again, there's not a awful amount of other fighters that can challenge the two. I quite liked Bobby's quote at the end of the fight, where he basically said him, and Adesanya are the best, and we all know it. He put it in a much more elegant way than that though, which is quite impressive considering he did take some heavy knocks in that fight. Especially the earlier rounds.

Arlovski on a mini winning streak?

However, we should also learn to recognize real talent and accept the reality that sportsbooks trick everyone by offering high odds in fighters they are certain to be a loser for us hehehehe. Izzy was also given a new contract and he will become uncle Dana’s new pet and it also appears that Francis Ngannou might also be given a new contract. We cannot bet against the pets hehehe.

Yep! he sure fought brilliantly and surely uses his advantage over Whittaker and that is his reach although Robert Whittaker got some upgrades on his own kudos to his counter shots and takedowns, not all the time it seems very effective against Adesanya even though there is some takedown that has connected not all the time because of Adesanya's takedown defense, I could really say it was a close round, Robert Whittaker could also win this at some point but that is just my opinion because it was really a close match, but the result goes to the judges and they have seen Israel Adesanya as the winner, but I could have added Robert Whittaker's submission and got Adesanya from behind getting ready for a choke but it was not recorded with the judge's criteria but I should say I am for Israel Adesanya here but I don't really want to get bias and one-sided with the way Robert Whittaker performs, because he had done a great job as well, and hopefully we could see another rematch for this fight.

Tuivasa become my favorite aswell after this fight, I have bet for Derrick Lewis but we can not ignore the durability and strength of Tai Tuivasa from getting a win over Lewis, that was 1 awesome fight, and that exchange of blows really have gotten the black beast stun, and I think he has respected this young fighter's power I think Tai Tuivasa could surely go beyond a long way longer than Derrick Lewis, I don't want to say Lewis to just retire after this fight but I would like to see a rematch or Another fight from Tai Tuivasa to solidifies this win maybe against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, or Curtis Blaydes or Stipe Miocic because that is one shocking win from Tai Tuivasa, you can see speed, power and durability on this fighter to really get into the top.

The guy knows how to market himself well, introducing the shoey which has definitely made him popular among fans, and the guy has started to consistency deliver. I was hoping for a Tuivasa win, however it's not like I was actually expecting it. I know how dangerous Derrick Lewis is, and he's probably the scariest in terms of knock out power, and I'm including Ngannou in that. Ngannou can be avoided quite easily if you look at some of his fights, the recent fight with Gane demonstrated he can be out maneuvered in terms of his punching ability. Though, Derrick knows how to invite pressure, and can counter punch. He's much more technical.

Curtis Blaydes or Stipe would be a nice one for Tuivasa next, I think they also make the most sense. I like Ngannou, and if he stays in the UFC I think that's better for the division, but if Tui comes up against him you can bet your money, I'll be putting a lump sum on Tui, and hoping for the best.

^  It sucks that they rescheduled RDA vs Rafael Fiziev.  It was supposed the headliner for that weekend event instead of Walker vs Hill.  Curious how Fiziev would be in a 5 rounder.  But yeah..  Let’s how Hill does vs Walker I guess.  Hill looked really good vs Crute.  A lot of people thought Crute would win that match, including me.  Lol.  Buckley vs Alhassan could be a banger too.

I’m happy taking Whitaker for the line value and a little degen action in an underdog.  I just can’t not bet Whitaker at 3.40 when I know the fight would be closer than the odds.  Which it was.

I'm going to get my predictions in early so I don't forget this time. Since I've had some moderately good success as of recent. Although, I often combine my UFC accumulators with football ones for maximum accumulator profit. Anyway:

Jamahal Hill (decision)
Kyle Daukaus (decision)
Parker Porter
Nikolas Motta
Abdul Razak Alhassan
Khalid Taha
Gabriel Benítez
Stephanie Egger
Mark Striegl
Gloria de Paula
Chad Anheliger

Although, that's my full card prediction I'll hopefully remember to do another one that are only ones I'm somewhat confident in, since this weekend's fight night is absolutely insane in terms of competitiveness. There's a lot of value in a lot of the underdogs, but it'll likely be close. I'm feeling especially confident in Jamahal Hill via decision, Kyle Daukaus to win, and Parker Porter to win. Other than that there's a lot up in the air for me in all those fights.

While it might not be the best idea to put an accumulator on this weekend, in terms of entertainment it should be a really good night of fighting, especially at the Apex.

I like Ngannou, and if he stays in the UFC I think that's better for the division, but if Tui comes up against him you can bet your money, I'll be putting a lump sum on Tui, and hoping for the best.

Tai Tuivasa really outdid what he can really do in the fight, but I really think he needs another fight just to see his technicality in things, and yes a Curtis Blaydes or Stipe Miocic could be a better one just if he has a technical way for things and not just bombarding his opponent with a barrage of punches and hope for the best, because I think he surely has a durable chin, Derrick Lewis has the punching power to make sure he drops Tuivasa but Tai Tuivasa withstand it like bulldozer going into Derrick for the kill, because if he ain't winning to a Blaydes or Miocic fight then I think he's not qualified for a Ciryl Gane or Francis Ngannou level.

I am curious why a sudden reschedule I will look on it to see why, but still, a Johnny Walker fight was really OK I guess, I think that this is one great match to watch disregarding the Rafael Dos Anjos VS Rafael Fiziev fight that I was anticipated to watch, and regarding that the list of Cancelled matches on this event was staggering,

I’m happy taking Whitaker for the line value and a little degen action in an underdog.  I just can’t not bet Whitaker at 3.40 when I know the fight would be closer than the odds.  Which it was.

In Actuality, I am for Israel Adesanya on that fight but Robert Whittaker has shown great strategy and that he can surely up his game against Adesanya and again that was pretty much an intense fight and a close match both fighters did their best and I think it was hard for the judges to score this fight since it was a tight close fight even me I was sure that Whittaker won the 4th round, but some judges gave it to Adesanya,
