Since nasa suggestion dito https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4613620.0 ang Technical Analysis and nakagawa ako ng Risk Management write-up sa Trading group ni Ximply, might as well I share ko na rin po dito publicly.

Introduction

I've seen a lot of people come into the market with a get rich quick mindset. I know ako rin naman at sino ba naman ang hindi lolz. As new entrants, hindi natin naiisip ang possible downside effect ng investing and trading decisions natin in case things don't go the way we wanted.

Saying goes trading is marathon not a sprint. Your first goal as a trader is to survive, and then thrive. The only way to stay in the game is to apply proper risk management.

Risk Management

Risk – the amount/portion of your account you are willing to lose per trade. Yan ung amount na mawawala sayo if your trade turns into a loss. Advisable sa beginners ay 1-2% per trade. Para sakin maganda start muna 1%, then increase to 2% or more after may kita na to avoid accelerated drawdown in case na magkaroon ng series of losing trades in the beginning.

>> Sample with an account of $1,000, bale siyempre 1% ay $10, yan ang risk mo per trade.

2 Types of Risk Setup

1. Stop Based Risk – Eto yung kapag by trade invalidation. Once price triggers your stop loss, example ang stop loss mu ay kapag bumaba ung price ng 10% , you lose the amount as defined by your risk. Usually for liquid markets eto applicable, Technical Analysis based trade.

Position Sizing and Risk to Reward

pwede naten gamitin ung R:R tool sa tradingview or coinigy

So ang nangyari, nag risk tayo ng $10 sa trade, and if successful kumita tayo ng $100. That’s a 10:1 trade. Ten times ng risk naten yung reward.

Winning Trade  Grin

Now risk to reward setups determine minimum required win rate to maintain profitability.

3:1 – losing 3 and winning 1 = break even, a win rate above 25% to stay profitable
4:1 – losing 4 and winning 1 = break even, a win rate above 20% to stay profitable
5:1 – losing 5 and winning 1 = break even, a win rate above 16.6% to stay profitable

So ibig sabihin, kahit mababa ang win rate basta maganda ang R:R setups naten, we can still be profitable in the long run.

*Something to note, tight stop = bigger position size and bigger potential profit. Wide stop = smaller position size and smaller potential profit.

same trade, trade but with wider stop. more wiggle room for volatility, but less R:R hence less potential profit.

2. Sunk Cost Risk – Eto yung moon or doom lol. You consider the fact that the asset/coin you invested in can go to zero. Meaning kung sakali mag scam yung project, or magkaroon ng fud mag drop nang -50% or -70% and at max -100% ang mawawala sayo ay ung amount as defined by your risk. Usually for illiquid markets eto, particularly low cap coins or unproven ICO projects, Fundamental Analysis based trade.

Example $10 risk, so yun na yon. Remember, marami low cap ang nag x1,000 or more in the past.

low marketcap, low trading volume coins

unproven ICO projects lol

Maganda po meron tayong invalidation points, exit strategies just in case hindi po natin nakuha ung projected profit naten at nag end up into losses.

To be continued.... Thanks

I find these interesting, I have a question since I am new to trading environment. I mean if you gained like 1% to 2% you can now freely sell your invested coin to make good gains?

>> Sample with an account of $1,000, bale siyempre 1% ay $10, yan ang risk mo per trade.

I see it as a complicated method if we do it in every trade just to determine the risk involved.

Risk to Reward – eto yung measure ng profitability naten sa trades. So sa example trade naten, Entry at $6 , stoploss at $5 (-16.6%) at target price na $16(+266%)
Geez, how do you determined the target price? Naguguluhan po ako

`

1. 1% - 2% ng total capital mo, not profit.
1% or $10.
3. Mandatory? Nasa sa iyo po iyan if you will follow a disciplined trading routine. Kung buy low and hodl strategy niyo especially kung new coins/project  better na gamitin ung position sizing criteria of  sunk cost risk.
4. Target price? Historical Resistance Area. https://www.tradingview.com/x/rfaJCurp/
Kung yung coin ay pumping in price discovery, take partial profit here and there or until trend reversal start.
