I think very few people expected this result that inform England will lose against Pakistan. If you look at our pool pick then you will see all of us were wrong LOL. Another example of unpredictable Pakistan. :-P

I am expecting Afghanistan to comfortably win against Sri Lanka after watching them play against Aus recently. If Sri Lanka wins, all the losing teams would basically be back in the competition currently.

Well we are seeing totally a different Sri Lanka. I do not think they are going to lose this match. Afghanistan are struggling too much. They are so nervous that the bowlers are bowling extra balls, fielders are fielding sloppy, the body language are not looking good at all.

May be Sri Lanka will have a trashing win.

hmm, Afghanistan is struggling with its bowlers and fielding. But they have taken 8 wickets in 182/8 (33.0). So the score is suitable for Afghanistan. And I think the rest of the wickets will be gone soon. But unfortunately, the game stopped by rain. Now we need to see when will start the game again.

I bet on SL but looks like they won't even manage 230-240 runs as the weather is bad, they have 2 wickets left and match is already delayed. Malinga is no good batsman so Afghanistan may manage to just win this but still I hope SL manage to win as the conditions are not so favorable for chasing.

I was hoping that Afghanistan will be having an easy victory, but the rain interruption disrupted everything. And now AFG will have to chase down a bigger total in 41 overs. And Afghanistan is not really known for winning close matches and performing under pressure. After two matches with consecutive zero points, I may end up with another one today.

The Srilanka innings is finished and they achieve 201 runs in 36.5 overs. And the targets is 187 in 41 overs based on DLS methods. So I think the DLS method makes a little bit difficult for Afghanistan. What do you think really?

Oh... that is very fair then.

I was thinking that AFG may need to score more than the SL total. And since they need to score only 187, I'd say that the DLS method has favored Afghanistan here. SL needs to take wickets. The target is very low and they can't win this match by bowling economically. The reduction of overs from 50 to 41 is not going to affect AFG, because the match will be decided long before the 41st over.

Never bet on cricket before or even know how the game works but placed a small live bet on with the score the way it was with over 100 balls and afghanistan only needing 79 runs. This was when it was right before ski lanka started striking them out.

74 for 5 now. Afghanistan is going to lose the match, I didn't hope that. I thought Srilanka will be the only team with zero win match. It was an easy target to chase but Afghanistan messed it.

Afghanistan at 134/7 now, with 53 needed off 69 balls. Their lack of experience shows up once again. And this is not the first time that they are losing a match after restricting the rivals to 200 or less. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan bowlers are very experienced (Pradeep, Perera, Lakmal.etc), and they should pull this one through.  

Edit: Sri Lanka are currently ~15 minutes behind as far as the over rate is concerned. This should mean automatic suspension for the captain for the next match.

Srilanka won by 34 runs. Najib played a little bit but on other side, no one could assist him, bad luck that he was run out.
Waiting for the next match of this world cup. On of the giant India will play tomorrow. Let see how they perform.

The reason why I picked Afghanistan for today's match was because of the poor performances by SL during the warm-ups. But I overlooked the inexperience of the Afghan side and over-estimated them.

Very important match tomorrow, and I have made a bet in favor of South Africa. Let's see what happens.

I bet on Afghanistan from the start of the match because i was not satisfied with the Srilanka first match performance. Even in this match the Sir Lanka dod not played well and Afghanistan almost took this game away from them. It was Malinga who last spell did the magic for Sri Lanka and they were able to get the two points for the match.

Today we have India vs South Africa. India is playing with Favourites tag, and Proteas already lost 2 matches, their trouble doesn't stop here. There is a high possibility of Dale Steyn can be ruled out from World cup due to injury, Lungi Ngidi is too out for at least couple of week.

Should be a comfortable win for India today but watch out for a good contest, we have already witnessed how Bangladesh and Pakistan team beat their opponent so everything can happen in cricket.

I disagree. The Indian bowling lineup consists of bowlers like Bumrah and Chahal who are some of the best bowlers in the world and fielders like Jadeja who are as good as Jonty Rhodes.

The problem for the Indian batsmen is that historically they have performed poorly in English pitches. Virat Kohli is the only batsmen who is not affected by this. He remains in top form, irrespective of the playing conditions. But he needs support from the others. I am especially concerned about the openers. They have shown poor form during the warm-up matches.

I usually only consider India's performance against big teams like Aus, Eng and SL and their performance has not been upto the mark in foreign land. When they played in the 2011 world cup, their track record was much much better.

The Ind vs Ban match as well shows the openers are not doing a good job which makes the entire team depend on their middle overs and get a good score and partnership. While Ban team has good openers who do perform consistently. And this is cricket where anything can happen anytime. Just hope that the openers perform well and don't lose their wickets in the first 10 overs atleast.

You wrote my mid. Rohit and Dhawan are not performing well so I am really scared that they keep putting pressure on Kohli, Rahul and Dhoni which is not a good thing. If they keep losing their wickets, it's not possible that the team always manages to cover up for their mistakes.

When teams like Ban, SL and Afghanistan do well, people just praise them but actually they are winning on the other team's mistakes. Doesn't mean the other team have poor players. Our fielding also has never been great which can hurt us in these matches.

I am of the same opinion, Bangladesh, Pakistan and yesterday Afghanistan looked like they would have won if the weather was alright, but over cloud situation the ball was swinging a lot than normal and the Lankan bowlers restricted them with some accurate swing bowling, even i lost a ton of money in these three matches alone and i am taking a break for the week and enjoy the matches rather than being stressed out  .
