I don't know for sure, but most likely they are lost forever. That's very unfortunate for all those people still holding coins on their exchange. Even if that are shitcoins they should have been allowed to withdraw them to a wallet they control. I myself had some very low amounts of ETN (not that I consider ETN a shitcoin), trading it just for fun, so I'm not really affected. But I can imagine people holding there huge amounts of coins, which would translate into huge losses.

Just another case showing us that exchanges should be used either for a quick trade, or you should put there the amount you are comfortable losing.

Cryptopia had became a dumping place of shit coins specially the mineable and POS once that people barely use. They were thinking of being a exchange for less used coins but traders and miners slowly started to realize that not every coin would get the a profit and moved towards the more popular options.

Cryptopia was an exchange that many people participated in 2017 but after the attack of more than 15 million USD, this exchange was unable to control the situation and they declared bankruptcy. I think this will be a huge loss in the crypto community because many people are holding money here and they probably won't be able to get this money back in the future. Anyway, this is an exchange that I will keep in my memory because it helped me to earn a very high profit.

The interesting part is that they make use of a liquidator. I think this is a very bad sign for people who have their coins in cryptopia wallets. You wont be able to access this wallets anymore, cause they belong to cryptopia and may be used to cover funds from banks etc.

It seems, cryptopia itself is  not able to recover the lost fund until today, and perhaps this is the best way or the fairest way to resolve the issue. I saw a similar post on twitter with regards end of cryptopia. Actually I don't have funds stocked there but I hope something is done about it. Security is a big problem hindering crypto adoption. I wish more improved security tech are developed and embedded to exchanges. Exchanges should focus more on security and not profit making from fees, but that's not the case with most of them.

If you mean the hacked coins and tokens, they were gone since the beginning since there is no way to take them back from the hackers wallets. This is why users can't withdraw those coins and tokens, even if they still have them in their balances, since there are no real coins to withdraw from the exchange.

Even I had a few altcoins in my Cryptopia account, in addition to some CLM (Cryptopia Loss Marker) tokens. Now I don't think that I will receive any sort of compensation for the lost funds. But still I would consider myself lucky. Cryptopia was never my favorite exchange. That is not all about the news it was all about the funds of every trader that was stock on their exchange because widrawal is still not currently available that's why people are still complaining they can't do anything and the sad part is cryptopia would be closing their platform and didn't know if we can widraw our funds there or not.

I am positive that people will receive payments but not the total amount. Those big accounts are ones to lose most here.

Cryptopia disappearing will definitely affect the liquidity of coins that were dependent on that platform because other ones refused to list them. But then again, other smaller exchanges may pick of the slack in providing liquidity to these coins. The bankruptcy of this exchange should serve as a warning to avoid coins dependent on these exchanges.

Ever since they experienced the hack recently on their exchange, they have not been able to recover from it even though they had to bring out a withdrawal model, I don't really know why all this exchanges never learn from what have happened to other exchanges and always fall victim to hacks, they know that hackers are head bent on making sure that they lose all users fund, but yet they don't still take the security of their platform seriously, I can't imagine that a big exchange like binance can also be hacked but we can see it happen already, how can we now trust exchanges anymore.

I believe they will be paying those equity investors first because they have legal obligation to them.  Probably they will sell their users assets to BTC and reimburse these users on what is left after all the legal obligation to their equity investors are paid.  Really a sad day for small traders.

I am believe this happen to many peoples. Cryptopia had many members and i think after they opening bitcoin deposits and withdrawal, cryptopia will survive but looks they had many problem inside. Hopely cryptopia can handle this with careful and transparant so investor can get their coin back

I think they will soon have a solution to return money to investors in the near future but this is likely to be very unlikely because after the attack then Cryptopia is very late in supporting customers should very low return rate. I personally participated in the exchange in 2018 because a lot of small coins had a very good price increase when listed here and helped me to earn a very high profit. Anyway we still have a lot of other exchanges and you should choose big exchange to ensure the best asset
