WHAT HAPPENED:A scammer or a group of scammers has been; - Starting Fake ANNs of already existing and old projects in the altcoin Announcements board - Creating Fake GitHub profiles under similar names of existing projects and hosting wallets that are infected with malware so that users download them thinking they are wallets of original projects - Hacking some older user accounts in the process and using the accounts for posting. The volume of these fake ann decreased significantly[1] compared to last week's outbreak. [1] haha, time for tagging  Impersonating not only Lightningcash ANN but their developer account as well: LighningCashDev vs. LTNC Dev. There's one more LIGHTNINGCASH-GOLD ann created yesterday. The account posted and the account first to reply both have 5-year posting gaps, which seem oddly suspicious. I'm going to monitor their thread closely, they might add malicious wallets at a later date. Another similar thread is for TeaCoin [ TEA ], with what appears to be a fake dev account. Good Job @morvillz7z and @ICOEthics on taking your time keep tabs on the scammer. I have updated the table. I case i missed out anything feel free to let me know. Looks like the chap is giving up on GitHub since most of the fake profiles have been taken down, so he has resorted to Mega links but fortunately for use... Mega is also so swift on taking down suspicious links so either way he is fucked  
I have also reported the GitHub profiles that are still online, they should be deleted in a few days. |
