Here is my begginers question regarding on ban appeals and how could it be avoided on having a hardwork banning plagiarist users.

A lot of things has changed the forum lately. Most users are now careful on getting ban having the proof that many users are doing ban appeals in this section.

If only it could reach to other section as well notifying this problem and consequencies then there could be a high chance that the forum.will do well in cryprocutrency discussions.

Is there any a chance that admin can spam a warning message to all the users to keep them aware at once on the plagiarism and getting ban problem?

If the Admin starts spamming messages he’ll get banned from the forum… and then we’ll all be in trouble …

On a serious tone, a variant of that has been on @theymos’s plate for some time, but for some reason has not seen the light yet. The idea is to display a welcome message (for new users), such as the one shown here: Writing a welcome message.

This is the responsibility of every member of this forum that they follow all the rules in this forum and makes aware everyone about it. But when we are talking about new members they did not aware about the rules and once they get banned then they start crying. But forum is discribing everything and in every section have a pinned message for rules but only few people bothered themselves to look it.
I saw many ban appeal on meta section and almost everyone is breking the rules no matter when. Plaragism is the main reason for banned so I think everyone should be aware about it.

But isn't it obvious that plagiarism is bad? that stealing is bad? that's been thought over and over again in school. I find it hard to believe that ppl don't know it's wrong under any circumstances. But ye I guess, a welcome message is better than nothing.

The moderators don't need to send messages to users to warn them about plagiarism and avoiding getting account ban, because any member of this forum most first of all learn about the rules and regulations of the forum and how the forum take the issue of plagiarism with all seriousness. One need to read the rules of the forum and abide by it to avoid going against them.

Yes you are right but not all users are.like you. Many does not read forum rules and this is why we cannot change the fact that many of them got ban because of.signature campaign and just complying the number of post needed weekly to.get stakes for better rewards and less effort by copy and pasting posts of other users.

If we will continue to ban more users in the forum then we get down in terms of numbers of users. All of the registered users here had contributed the forum in any way so this is why I am a little bit concern on the users ban could be avoided somehow.

Theymos started a new procedure of appeal to prove that you are overall net positive for the forum. So good user will still be forgiven. All the net negative users will be banned forever overall improving the quality of user in forum.

Yes, but it will take more effort to.do it unless if a new join users will be inform.ahead then this issues could be avoided. However, I have thought also that there could be some reason why admin had not yet implemented the welcoming message for.the new users here in the forum.

Probably theymos wants to ban all shitposters, copy and pasting posts so as to get more users that can actually posts quality threads and replies. Whatever reason admi. will have if it is for the good of the forum then so be it. I will support to it.

I think a ban for those users is appropriate. If they don't read then it's their own problems. I'm not afraid of the number of users decreasing if it means spammers will be removed forever from this forum.

You sure they'll read the welcome message? They don't even read the sticky threads with [IMPORTANT] tag on it.

I think a welcome message containing links to forum rules would be appropriate.
To be honest when i first joined the forum, i didn't even know where forum rules were and i never read them. Luckily for me, I did not commit any offense that was against the forum rules.
I only realized that plagiarism was a serious offense when i saw some members making ban appeals there.

Even the title for the forum rules doesn't really look like something that can attack attention from Newbies to head over there to read the rules. Apparently, it's still "An Unofficial List of Forum rules..."
