I they cannot control Bitcoin or crypto in general, they kill it's creator and replace them with a fraud operating with the US govt.
Now he ( the us govt) can claim copyrights of crypto and blockchain technology.
What implications would this have? Collaboration with the US govt, higher transaction fees ? Disowning of BTC, blockchain copyright, alt coins banning?
Your points are valid! I thought Craig's appeal will be rejected by the court but the verdict turned the table to create a more hostile situation within the cryptospace.
If Craig was awarded copyright to the bitcoin code and the original whitepaper, ideally he owns the copyright of blockchain! I may be wrong here but unsure about the future implication! It will be end of blockchain technology if Craig starts claiming his ownership on the technology! It's too early to comment anything concrete at this moment, let the story unfold slowly!
Well, I would not go as far as to say that the points of a person who claims that Satoshi was killed and replaced by Wright are valid, but I agree that this copyright thing being resolved in favor of Craig is weird and somewhat scary. Unfortunately, it's the down point of the legislation. It does not really matter if you did what you say you did. If you have something resembling the proofs as well as no other people trying to challenge your claim with their evidence, you'll probably be granted authorship. It is less likely to happen in the US or Britain, and pretty much 100% likely to happen in Europe. I guess now Craig can sue those who use Bitcoin and maybe also the blockchain technology, commercializing their own projects and not giving him royalties for that.
