ICOs are actually not dead. It's just that, these days, people prefer to go with IEOs because they have better offers and one's investment is more secured with other added benefits. If ICOs can  e properly regulated, maybe people can begin to trust them again. The major problem with ICOs right now is the issue of scam...how it is easy for several scam projects to come up through it. But if regulations are put in place, people can begin to trust ICOs agajn

ICO are dead because of the invasion of the ico space by scammers who put up fake projects to the public, build hype around it, get majority to invest, thereafter they disappear with the money. frequent occurrence of cases of scam projects made investors to believe all ico are scam, and gradually by gradually they distant themselves from ico projects. No one in his/her right senses want to keep on feeding theses scammers.

Interesting article about the death of ICOs and the emergence of IEO... https://cryptotradernews.com/investing-trading/are-icos-really-dead/

What do you guys think? I don't think ICOs are fully dead. They just need to be regulated in more efficient ways. Most ICOs from 2017-2018 never delivered on their promises because they were being ran by a bunch of assholes who didn't deliver squad... We need more regulation. Only then will ICOs get better imo.

Maybe the ICO hasn't died but now the devotees have reduced. Many investors are shifting their investments to IEO because tokens getting faster listing in the market after the IEO period is completed and sometimes the price increases x5 from initial IEO price

There are a lot of scams and there are also some good ICOs and it will surely be transferred to IEO to get rid from those problems. Scam ICOs can't go through the exchanges that offers to be a medium of IEO.And so before this year ends, may be all of the ICOs left are sure just a scam.

This idea that it is dead because of the proof that there are more scams than actually successful ones. I would not blame people if they would say it but  i have had worked with a lot of ICO's and i got to agree that some of them stopped progressing once they had accumulated certain budgets. And it is also good to see ICO's i have been participated to go in some good exchanges.

It seems to me that ICO is not collecting anything now, but their fees are a hoax.
when tokens come out on the exchange, the price is greatly underestimated and still nobody buys

There are also working ICO projects, but now more and more projects are trying to work with IEO and perhaps eventually ICO will die
ICO will die is very likely to happen when the market is starting to work continuously with IEO projects, ICO projects seem to be unable to compete when the safety ratio is too low, it does not guarantee liquidity, investors are always very dangerous while the IEO is providing better and safer values for investors. Over time, ICO will not exist when people will gradually give up but it will probably not be too soon when the IEO can be very good but to invest in an IEO project is not easy when the exchanges were limit our opportunities

It is true, that there are still many ICO that can be said to reach their targets. So it can be said that the ICO has not died for now. But because of the large number of competition, of course, not all ICO always succeed, there are still many who fail.

maybe ico died because there are so many ico scam programs, and ico programs that are not qualified, in the end did not reach softcap and failed, but with the advent of IEO, this program is different from ico, because not everyone can do it, it also reduces the risk of scams

All the funds are moving to IEO anyways, people seems to be interested into the outcome and recent result of joining IEO which has proven to be profitable for many while ICO project is struggling even to be listed in an exchanges. Kinda makes sense if judging by their point of view.

It's not dead yet, at least.
I think so. Just switch to IPOs or some kind of that. That's more reliable than crap ICOs.
ICOs back in 2018 mostly are scams.
Nothing come easy for investors back then.

Right now maybe the ICO is less trusted by investors because some of them are mostly Scams. That is why ICO is currently of less interest. People will be happier investing in the IEO because a trust will not find a scam project. Obviously the ICO era was gone but ICO was not entirely dead and abandoned. It's just that there is a lack of investor interest in the ICO.

In my own point of view, we can say that ICO is no longer good for now since several projects turns into IEO. However, some says that IEO is just an ugrade of ICO, but for me they differs in several perspective. And IEO now is going great with several projects that are now being used by several investors rather than ico that several investors losses their trust with.

Personally, I think that the ICO is fairly conscientious when they promise and fulfill their promises. Yes, there are projects that really cheat and at the same time earn. And earn at the expense of others. I think that soon such projects will simply become extinct. And current projects will increase their reting, and for those who have a small rating, no one will notice these projects.

As IEO has gained popularity ICO haven't been found around as the past. When we go in depth it is clear to see more projects even now getting their investments through ico. IEO is in its early stage and it is not easy to get a support from an exchange and launch the IEO. Projects with big funding go for IEO while the low investment projects prefer ico.

ICOs are not dead but it seems most of them are not making reasonable contribution compare to other projects that are on IEO. Files.fm is one of them. Despite the fact the project already have working products existing for many years, they still could not make 40% sales of the token allocated for sales and presently they are considering making a decision to go for IEO. However, it is not new again that many project also that go for IEO did not make 100% sales especially when listed on non decent exchange.

ico is not dead but the popularity of ico is currently down very far, now many new projects prefer IEO to ICO. I hope there is still a big project born of ico in the future.

In the first quarter of 2019, the ICO market has dropped by 97% based on the amount of attracted capital. The slump followed the 2017–2018 cryptocurrency boom, with low investment returns among ICOs through most of 2018.
You can also compare the number of ICOs published in the past 12 months:
273 (Jul, 2018) / 321 / 260 / 211 / 320 / 161 / 157 (Jan, 2019) / 58 / 70 / 63 / 88 / 59 (Jun, 2019)
