What do you consider the greatest underdog story?

There are really rare stories of underdog become champion. Though I have only known some team in locals that has the same stories like this. Probably a game will not determine on how the strong the opponent is because sometimes luck will going to work on a losing team.

Now, probably a championship game in the NBA between toronto and golden state has clearly seen the difference. GSW has the great advantage against the toronto teams. And if happens that toronto will going to win in the championship game then this will be another rare underdog that became a champion story.

Denmark winning the UEFA euro championship in 1992 without even qualify for the event!

12 days before the tournament  Yugoslavia was disqualified as a result of warfare in the country.  The Danish players were already on vacations but ended up winning the tournament, beating both the defending European champions in the semifinals and then the world champions in the final.

Since we are talking in general, I approve much of all the stories presented above. Anything that is considered as having the opportunity to beat an opponent that everyone seems to believe that you can't. I think that's the best underdog story that you could have. Think about it, if you manage to beat an opponent that has a big difference in skill and the audience are siding with only one team, it's going to be an epic game.

The unexpected things that happen in games are the most enjoyable ones.

Greece vs Portugal in the Eurocup finals in 2004.
That was one of the greatest surprise for European football. I still seem to remember all of it.
The game was held on Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal and Portugal were surely the favorite team with their golden boy Ronaldo playing.
Have no idea about tournament odds for Greece. But the final match was too well over 1:100.

Well, I wish I had money to bet on that game. But, I doubt people would be betting on underdog teams. It's really exciting to watch games especially when an underdog team is winning. Just like when Mavericks took the championship in their match with Miami way back 2011. It wowed a lot of NBA fans since Dirk Nowitzki was the only star player of Mavericks against the all star team of Miami during that time, won a bet with my friends during that time.

I like boxing so I'll remind you all about the famous Tyson vs Holyfield match that dethroned the famous champion and basically ended his career. The odds were 25-1 against Holyfield. This wasn't the greatest underdog story, especially since Holyfield held a title before, so he wasn't a newbie, but still very impressive.

Well, I wish I had money to bet on that game. But, I doubt people would be betting on underdog teams. It's really exciting to watch games especially when an underdog team is winning. I think Bookmakers wise, Leicester to win the league was probably the greatest underdog story that actually happened. Even Kim Kardashian to become the president of United States has lower odds(2000-1) than Leicester to win the league. It was an incredible run but sadly, I think the bookmakers will be more cautious since that happened and I dont think we will ever see any bookmakers give 5000:1 odds on any event since Leicester win.

Maybe the story I've experienced in the past has been forgotten, but for tennis and horse racing I'm sure at that point I at least often bet on underdogs because I'm only looking for high odds betting on tennis and horse racing, that way is very opposite when I bet in football, basketball, and also ice hockey. Among all that, I was just happy with the story of betting on a horse race that had a good profit, which initially only had a bankroll of 1mbtc, at least I was able to reach +10mbtc at that time. Last time of course a few days ago when Liverpool vs Barcelona. many people certainly expect that Barcelona will quilfy to the final and win th champions league, even Lionel Messi is very confident champions trophies will be taken again to Camp Nou, Luis Suarez is very bragged not to celebrate when scoring goals at anfield. There are few underdog stories that stuck in my mind.
First is Greece winning Euro 2004 with their ugly defensive  football.
But I can't remember any story which would be more epic than Leicester winning EPL. It's one thing to win short tournament with just 5 matches. But winning long tournament of 38 matches is something different and unbeleavable. We can dig in the history and find small teams winning top leagues. But I can't compare their stories with Leicester because I haven't witnessed it.
And one underdog story which happened recently. It's St Louis Blues winning NHL. Just in January they were last team on the table and in the second part of the season they made an incredible run.

It something win with luck or that truly Ruiz is better than Joshua. It is just the same into other games/fight, but somehow only few underdog had survive. It is the mindset of a person to win even they/he/she felt underdog on this game just like it happen to Joshua and Ruiz fight, nobody could believe that it ended like that.

Still remember with South Korea at the 2002 World Cup? They were able to qualify into the semifinals after beating Italy in the round of 16 and Spain in the quarter-finals. Despite the many controversies at that time, but in my opinion South Korea is also included in the row of the most memorable underdog stories.
