Cryptocurrency traders all over the world go wild for Bitcoin without paying attention to its underlying technology. Italy is no exception. Despite the significant efforts the country puts into adoption and application of blockchain, ordinary community members tend to focus on the digital currency based on it.

The 'efforts' that are put into blockchain aren't covering what Bitcoin actually is and stands for. Blockchain nowadays is all about raising as much capital as possible with empty projects promising to change the world.

If you put the focus on that, no wonder people don't understand or even care about decentralization and whatnot. This whole blockchain nonsense has done more harm than good in my opinion.

People some times even praise blockchain technology but trash crypto the way we know it.... This is what blockchain 'education' has done so far. I don't think private blockchains will still be a thing in the after 10 or so years.

This is quite expected as bitcoin is now on fire and can be on the start of a bigger bull run akin to what happened in 2017. Based on human nature, we always see more of what can be obvious rather than what can be underlying...which is blockchain technology, of course. Anyway, when we talk adoption of the blockchain we should not expect it to be as attention getting than bitcoin making the pump and media in the first place is more bias on bitcoin than the blockchain. Now, can we say then that there is something wrong with this trend? I think only time can tell eventually for that question.

As long as they haven't develop anything significant for Blockchain technology in their county I don't see what't wrong for their Italian citizens to embrace the cryptocurrencies behind it. As a matter of fact I see this as good news as they are making themselves aware to what's part of Blockchain and they are not closing themselves in on something in order to just wait for it. They are just making themselves open and curious and I think this will be a good introduction for them on what lies next.

How about 'the whole world chooses Bitcoin'?

It's not a secret that the far majority of the people buy themselves into Bitcoin not knowing/caring what it is. All they care about is that it jumps up and down and that you potentially can make a lot of money. In case of noobs, that's mostly lose a lot of money, but they'll find out one day.

No amount of effort can make people care enough about Bitcoin unless the speculative side becomes less of a thing, or when banks and governments cheat on them hard enough. On top of that, most blockchain related events are about centralized shit such as EOS and how federated/governance consensus models are the next big thing.

Bitcoin. Not blockchain. We need more of these events. Blockchain is a distraction and mostly a convenient marketing trick to make people invest in shitty projects.
