I read some rumors on how Dwolla is about to invest heavily in bitcoin. Something about the CEO Ben Milne being overly impressed by bitcoin.

True or false?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

How does it help him make money, is the question

until June most of the revenue going to Dwolla was due to buying and selling bitcoins.

Dwolla is more of a transaction mediator than a bank.

Got an e-mail today from Dwolla about "big changes coming".  References their blog post here:

http://blog.dwolla.com/on-december-15th-dwolla-will-change-as-we-know-it/

They don't give any details, but this "hint" referencing a "network" might give this rumor some credence

Dwolla is not a feature, it’s a network… And on Dec 15th… Nothing will be more obvious.

Wild speculation of course, but I guess we'll find out in a month or so.

Thats what I was thinking to.

Spending alot of my money and resources trying to appeal to banks an/or buying a credit union. Its much easier if an established company like Dwolla which currently partners with out of state Credit Unions* allow bitcoin.

+1 And this theme will become visible elsewhere. It takes a long time for the first movers to integrate Bitcoin, but after it happens, competitive pressure requires that others integrate as well. Seeing that it's workable is a strong incentive for secondary adopters.

Just wait until the first high-profile adult or gambling site accepts Bitcoin and see how quickly the others do...

I posted these comments on their page and they were immediately deleted after 45 min.  Here is my post:

Are you going to use bitcoin? It just makes sense and is more cost effective. Bitcoin network is already there. Transaction cost is almost zero.

Bitcoin is worldwide. If you used bitcoin your network would expand globally. Anything less than this on the 15th then I would be disappointed.

Why did Dwolla delete my post?

Clearly, you blew the secret for them and they want to save it as a surprise.

or

Clearly, they hate bitcoin and don't even want it discussed.

Or: They're making some custom global network, shaped after bitcoin, and you mentioning bitcoin already doing exactly what they want to implement will cost them customers.

My post re-appeared.  Maybe it's a FB glitch.  False alarm?

There you have it: offer fast transactions (green addresses and stuff) and wallet service?

Or they're keeping an eye on this forum, saw that you took them deleting the post as a confirmation that they were going to use bitcoin, and re-instated it to confuse you.
