Cryptonites - "A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY" for Women, Emerging markets and Africa

Welcome back for episode 2 with the lovely Maria Woncisz from Luno. In this episode, we will answer some very critical questions to bring light to new angles and perspectives.

Are we OVERemphasizing the institutional players in Crypto and UNDERemphasizing emerging markets in Africa, Asia, and South America? Although institutional players will help accelerate growth, let's take a step back and remember the ones who WERE and still ARE pushing crypto adoption REGARDLESS of bear markets : ) Do you agree or disagree? Well, I always agree for crypto adoption in any part of this world. They don't need to care about bear market because it's a normal condition. With the growth of adoption, especially by female, would easily turn the bear into a bull. From country side, I do believe that crypto will help them much especially for a poor country with bad financial structure. Crypto will bring more structured system with undoubted transparency, this will slightly help a country to get out of financial trouble. Oh, no.. it's not just stop on financial aspect, but also every other aspect like environment quality, public facility, health and many more. But yeah, expanding business on a emerging market is actually hard for most company, they need to use the most compliant approach in order to get positive responses.

I laugh when the host looked very amazed while Maria told that 30% of their workers are female, lol
30% is not that big percentage tho. Also, in my opinion, conquering emerging markets is not that hard for a company which was built on developing country. They absolutely know what to do, how to conquer the market.

It's great to see that more women find jobs in the cryptocurrency world. I agree with the statement that females are needed for mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. We can't have an industry where it's mostly men who build blockchains.
Africa is a continent where a lot of people don't have access to banks, so cryptocurrency can be huge there in the future.

I don't see why people are so amaze when women are earning in crypto?
Why would they be amazed about it ? crypto is for everyone to use it is not just for a man there is no gender require for crypto right ,
So why is it so big of a deal when women enters crypto?
It is true it would help a lot specially for those who have child and only at their house it could give them extra money .

It's probably because there are significantly less women interested in cryptocurrencies, I mean it's the same in the finance sector in general.
Don't ask me for the reasons why that is, I'm just stating simple facts that are based on different research statistics.

Sexism exists in all aspects: cryptocurrency, job opportunities, society so I guess it's normal that most people are amazed by the video. Honestly, the video is amazing, it shows how women can really be competitive in crptocurrency. It's amazing that even women are starting to learn and engage in cryptocurrency, as what Maria said females are less active in crypto space and in terms of awareness the number of female is lesser than male. Having women like Maria who's into cryptocurrency, this can impact the market as it can spread crypto awareness not just to male but also female.

There is a whole reason why there is some sort of emphasis on hiring men and why the markets in third world countries are not getting the funding in big countries and why Africa is interested in crypto but not getting the attention it deserves and they all make sense.

First of all the software development classes in colleges graduate more men than women, women do not pick those fields as much as men but as soon as they do they get a job because people do not discriminate against women it is just statistics that most applicants are men.

On top of that the first world countries have excess amount of money compared to third world countries so as expected emerging markets do not have the funds to give to crypto anyway, and Africa is about the same situation, they can be interested in bitcoin but that doesn't mean they have any money to make it big, you can have one huge exchange for ALL African countries and still be used less than coinbase.

We might just unaware that most women are engaging in crypto. There are women who are earning better in crypto more than men. Sometimes, women are being underestimated even in the adoption of blockchain technology but it's just easy for them to deal with the market more than men.

A great video, thanks! I think the things they are discussing are very important. Mass adoption is impossible without women, that's true. Diversity is not only morally right but also better for the economy. This is the general Western trend, that is now a part of many areas. For instance, diversity in movies will increase, because this way more audience is interested in watching them since more people see someone they can relate to. Ignoring half of the world is crazy. And it's not only about women, but it's also about ignoring the whole continent most of the time. Apparently, this startup noticed a huge opportunity and decided not to miss it. Africa is a huge region, full of potential in terms of crypto adoption, especially since banks are not that popular there, and stable fiat is a pretty uncommon thing.

I am sure that the mass adoption will not just for male, but it's for female also.
They can take part in the cryptocurrency community, and I am sure that they will contribute to the crypto.
We see that many female trying to join in the cryptocurrency and they are joined with many projects in out there and they have an important position related to the cryptocurrency in one project.
More females will join in the cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency is not about the gender matter.

I don't believe that women and em.markets are pushing ahead the crypto adoption "regardless" of the institutional investors. It's actually the opposite.More institutional investors means that more people in the world will have trust in crypto and will decide to buy some coins.

Blockchain means restructuring. Restructuring to such a degree means IMO a new encompassing beginning. I always thought that it is nearly impossible for Africa to have their own mature financial system and infrastructures (those cocsts billions of USD+ running costs), they do not need it this anymore, In any case, the infrastructure is very cheap and it is much easier to implement). If everything by tomorrow regarding money is done via smartphone, contactless, then this would be a massive advance for the Africans. I believe in 50 years (if we are still alive) that Africa as a continent itself will no longer be a developing contient, as it its currently, yes I know that there is also countries like South Africa or egypt, but i mean it as whole) Yes .. I know I am too optimistic, but finally I have a reason to be optimistic and the reason is called: Blockchain.

Thank you Satoshi, you have changed the world!

I don’t want to agree with this, do you know why it will be difficult for women to succeed in cryptocurrency, it’s because they are too emotional, which we cannot take away from them because it is the way God has created them. If women are really participating in cryptocurrency and especially trading of it, then most of these panic selling we have been seeing would be from them mostly.

It is only a man that can have the heart to invest in cryptocurrency and not pull it out when there Is a short increase, while risking it and waiting for it to multiply better, when people bought bitcoin at $4000, I am sure by now, we will not have any women investment again, because they would have all sold it.

We need hype, that's why we have these stories.
People don't realize that these articles who are supposed to be supporting for women and praise their initiatives are actually quite misogynistic, it's more like..hey crypto is so easy even women are able to use it.

We might just unaware that most women are engaging in crypto. There are women who are earning better in crypto more than men. Sometimes, women are being underestimated even in the adoption of blockchain technology but it's just easy for them to deal with the market more than men.

I'm pretty sure you have no real data to back up those hilarious claims Tongue

Ignoring half of the world is crazy. And it's not only about women, but it's also about ignoring the whole continent most of the time. I wonder why so many people think that we have to push adoption to Africa, we have to push adoption to South America to Iran or to Mali.
Bitcoin is a currency, a decentralized one, it will either find a way or it won't.
If people in Africa want to adopt it they will start using it, if they haven't done it till now it is only because they didn't want to use it till now or they don't have a reason to use or the means to.

Every technology that went global has realized that without having some feminist propaganda or 3rd world projects.
Smartphones, air travel, internet, none had to be advertised to be embraced.
When people felt the need they went and buy/used one.

Generally when talking about investments and finances there aren't many women interested in this domains , mainly because it's being thought that men are the leaders of a family and they the ones that bring money in the house. The same thing happens when talking about programming and technological stuff because this is considered to be the domain of men. The percentage of women interested in computers is way lower than the percentage of men and if we are talking about Blockchain the difference is even bigger. That's why people are so amazed when seeing a woman interested in crypto, because they think this is their domain when in fact it's open for everyone.

But still we aren't in the old times when woman just wait in the house.
We are in a generation where women ask for gender equality.
And women has been earning for quite a while now so why would this be an issue?
We have seen some women become president and any job that has been done by men could also be accomplished by women so that also goes in investment and crypto.

Crypto is open for anyone who's interested, gender doesn't matter besides women are actually great when it comes on making decisions and it helps them on their investment. They are also determined on learning and earning money just like each and everyone of us. We don't have to belittle them, maybe they earn nigger than us because they have long patience and smart. Anyways, its a great opportunity for everyone especially for women and we have to respect them because engaging in crypto is very difficult.

I didn't expect for this kind of issue tagging up with crypto towards gender inequality.I know some women who do have been able to earn here on crypto and as said they do generate much better than me.Im not belittling them yet ive been proud that there's no specific gender where crypto can give out opportunities on making money and as long you do know on what you are doing and somewhat knowledgeable, then you can possibly earn no matter what.

Yes, most probably. In this community, particularly, I'm pretty sure that there are also women here but just not saying it front and center. And though there is a small percentage of women involved in crypto and blockchain technology, there are still a number of them who are notable in the said field. And since there are still women discrimination present, having them in the crypto and blockchain industries can be considered amazing. Smiley

Hey
Well not just Africa but I guess the whole would , if we have internet and we know a thing or two about trading then we can actually get going and take into account Everything , earn some money , learn more about market and best thing is work from home.
It is indeed better then those online jobs which promises a good pay but only gives us like 5-6$ .. it is both tiring and useless at the same time.
But with bitcoins it just makes everything much more easier.

I love women with the love of God and I respect them because they are wonderful creation, they have all the brain and strength needed to drive the cryptocurrency world to a greater eight, women have very convincing mouth and they will most fit in to marketing of cryptocurrency to the world out there, but when it comes to investment, I think they might fail in that regards.

Women are not that patient when it comes to money, when it comes to relationship, emotion, they have been designed to have patience more than men, but when it comes to money, the market would have dried by now, because out of impatience, they would have pulled their investment out of the market long time ago with the claim that they can double it externally, just like my sister has been tempted to remove her money from the market long time ago but I have been the one persuading her not to.

Let us know your angle in the comments section below!

(click on the picture to be redirected to the youtube video)

As a women this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to take because only here will have the opportunity to earn big or to experience to be a millionaire someday. Cryptocurrency really gives income to many.I love to live in crypto because there is life.

Luno has gone a long way to open up the African continent to Bitcoin and to focus on women is just the natural next step in the evolution of adoption. We cannot deny that women in Bitcoin is frequently over looked by a male dominated environment.  Roll Eyes

I would actually encourage promotions for women to signup with Bitcoin exchanges and to get some discounts, once they have verified all their details. Men should not brush women's contribution to Bitcoin aside, because they can help with adoption in circles where men are not welcome.  Wink
