I think one could argue that this is just scummy behaviour. Bitblender has been online for years, you really think a couple days will make a difference?
He's storing god knows how many user funds on his website, why is everyone so hellbent to give him a pass regarding this?

This just looks to me like he's trying to exit scam and run off with the funds of his customers... under the guise of "paranoia"...?

He gave people a couple days to withdraw, and then brought the servers online again a day or so later so the laggards could get their coins. For an exit scam, that's extremely generous.
Sure, if you were well-informed, it was fair.

I just highly doubt that much of their customer base outside of Bitcointalk knew what was happening though. All the people/casual bitcoiners that mixed through darknet markets etc probably didn't even notice it was shutting down until it was too late.

For me it is the same, have sent after the Dreammarket closure my remaining Bitcoins to Bitblender.
There was no ad the URL is closed. So they are still hanging around and hope to get them again.
Bitcoin Blender is shutting down. Please withdraw.

i still have funds on account pls pm me how we can deal to get my funds back !! i was not online the last few Days !!
hi !

i still had funds on account on blender ! iw as on holiday and saw just now ! please help !
Again, it probably wasn't orchestrated to be an exit scam, but that's basically what this mess has resulted in.. Intentional or not, it seems like a lot of users no longer have access to their funds.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

it sucks to lose and believe me when i say i've been there before. and i really hate to be that unapologetic #notyourkeys asshole. but it seems like people never learn to store their own keys until a custodial service screws them like this.

3 years ago, i had all my crypto funds stored on exchanges. then bitfinex got hacked, stole my money and replaced it with debt tokens. then i got bitten a second time in 2017 when btc-e got taken down! my fault this time---shame on me!

anyone who casually leaves coins on deposit for weeks or months at a time is inevitably going to be parted from their coins. if it's not bitblender, then the next service, or the next service after that. i hope these people get another chance to withdraw, but if not, this is a lesson they need to learn. blind trust was bound to fuck them over at some point.

I am dubious in terms of this. Why they are so rushed? whether they know something they did not tell us?
Only a few hours to withdraw are not enough for many users.
One of their competitors just got shutdown by several government agencies... that’s no joke.
Even I, would do the same thing if you do see that other competitors been shutdown and as a mixing owner you would really panic  Grin

@TryNinja, thanks for the reminders and had successfully make withdrawals before when Bestmixer issue explode out.

Except that would be nobody’s fault but there’s for not keeping on track of things. It’s not the owner’s fault that they can’t read emails and such. Though the owner should obviously take the time to tell everyone that left coins that they should withdraw before the site truly closes especially for things like this. As it stands, it’s damn generous, which is nice for the customers.

As some of the previous users stated, it might not be the fault of the owner that some people couldn't read their emails but it unprofessional that the owners have to give people some hours to withdraw their fund cause he ought to make it at least a week before they can decide to shut down the system for the time we all spend on the internet are not the same.

Atleast he do make some warning on withdrawing coins- lets say 24 hours will be already enough but as said 1 week before the closure or 3-4 days would really be nice but
we dont know why they are soo much on a hurry and i feel sorry for those who wont able to get out.

It wasn’t enough. There are many people who let their coins in there and were away from their PC’s for several days. Many people trusted them (5 years without issues), so they weren’t expecting that. I personally wouldn’t leave my coins anywhere I don’t control for more than 2 days, but that’s just in my case.

It’s pretty obvious that it was BestMixer’s shutdown. It’s complicated when one of your competitors get seized for doing exactly what you’re doing.

You got the point but people do have different level of risk management. Some are too confident on leaving their coins behind on any service without
minding the possible risk that would happen anytime.I cant blame them though yet if you do make use of them for 5 years that trust will build up but
we should think that nothing do last forever.
