Last week I have been to Donostia St Sebastian for my birthday where I did some classic Spain tapas bars, very good ones actually... after that we drove to Larrabetzu to visit the best restaurant of EU.... : Azurmendi, this rest really satisfy me on every point and get a 10/10 from me, the first impression and first amuses where a real shot in the bulls eye

All of this was top class imo and I would surely do it again, also the wine pairing, personal, chef cock etc all was PERFECT!

Of-course this isn't the type of resto on a weekly, so feel free and share whatever kind of resto experience you would like from very normal, standard towards high class .... really whatever.

I run out of there, crashed the hotel bed with my pants open for at least an hour....

And you expect us not to be hungry with the beautiful dishes laid down before my eyes, that is digitally? Those are amazing foods and they are artfully done and presented...who can resist those offerings. This must be a great restaurant...what with Michelin brand of approval!

This place need some life, I expected a bit a lovely resto's from all over the world or stuff or things.....

Btw last evening I was in the heart of Antwerp and went again to one of my personal favorite restaurants, if someone is in Antwerp I would always recommend this one

Always go for the full menu with paired drinks (not only wines, most of it are wines of-course)

So first we take aperitif

A kirr royal and a semi sweet gin tonic



followed by a few amuse bites



then we went for the full 7 dishes and their signature dish so 8 ....

First we had a season dish "Maatjes haring" = Young herring, with - lettuce - radish             accompanied by a white wine



Second we had "noordzee tong" = Sole, with - artichoke - fennel - grey shrimps          accompanied by a white wine



Third we had "inktvis" = Squid, with - Mediterranean vegetables - couscous           accompanied by a white wine



Fourth was the signature dish of the resto, their amazing Bouillabaisse           accompanied by a white wine



Fifth we had "langoustines" = langoustine          accompanied by a white wine



Sixth we had "roodbaars" = redfish        accompanied by a white wine



Seventh we had Chocolat - vanilla - caramel - peanut     accompanied by a cocktail based on Cointreau, Chocolate, espresso, Khalua ... (awesome with the dish)



Eight we had Strawberry - mascarpone - rhubarb - vanille    accompanied by a sparkling rosé

GF had a recent Bday,  Bruges "Jonkman" was the destination.....

We had a very nice welcoming, aperitif and amuses followed very fast







After those we have taken the 7 courses with drink pairing ( wines and a course with a beer), as Belgium has the largest beer history of the world but sometimes we do forget.... the resto wants to remind us with a special beer etc

Only the menu is a bit different on my end, my friend had the exact one, I myself don't eat meat so my meat dishes where changed for vegetarian ones

Good lord. Somehow it doesn't seem very appetising. Some of the dishes look like leaf litter or bashed-up insects and twigs. Maybe my eye just isn't in for these fancies.

The leaf thing, had a real taste with some leaf in it  though the Squid was amazing ....

Yeah I guess for people who eat meat the switched dishes would be better the originals...

But I made those choices
