Since 2018, we have been engaged in a private comprehensive investigation of the wex case and are the focal point of a group of victims.

This caused us to get bogged down in paperwork, which was certainly counterproductive.
Strategically, it was more reasonable to transfer the case to the investigative body, which is able to conduct the investigation and attach the victims.
We (including some of the victims) met with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to draw the attention of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to this criminal case, the case was put under the personal control of the deputy. the Minister of the Interior, the media response, the motivation of some employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and everything in the complex led to the result - the case was transferred to Moscow, where it can really be investigated.
The investigation is good, but where is our money? — you may ask.
Getting your money back is our first priority, right from the start.
We have come a long way since then, we managed to find funds in the hot and cold wallets of the exchange, the approximate amount as of 08.03.2021 is $ 250 million, we also managed to track SEPA transactions to the exchange's account (official), we found victims who transferred money to them and we know who this money went to.
This data was transferred to the investigation and officially appears in the case, now it is not just chat conversations and figures, but the case materials.
All transactions on the exchange, which are discussed in the article on the BBC about the theft from the Wex exchange, were also tracked.
According to the timeline, we managed to produce a list of people who are potentially behind each of the wallets.
The remaining funds are under control, we are still waiting for the attackers to return what they could not swallow.
There is also sufficient understanding on fiat funds, both on bank transfers and on electronic payment systems.
This data, among other things, was transferred to the investigation and is officially listed in the materials of the criminal case.
Too specific description of the whole story will not be laid out here, as this will violate the secrecy of the investigation and may create inconvenience.
To clarify, all the data was collected by us independently, through our work and the work of partners, this data was transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and attached to the case.
At the current exchange rate, the amount of funds is more than $ 250 million, we know who has access to them and who is behind each transaction, moreover, we have evidence that can be used in court.
Everyone knows that we are just as affected by the actions of WEX as any other participant in the chat, our first priority is to return our personal funds, since a refund to one person and a refund to a thousand people need to go through the same path, so we are happy to work for the benefit of the community as well.
For 3 years, we have proved that we can work in different conditions, there were different times, with faith in our actions, without faith in our actions, without funding, and even at our own expense.

Nevertheless, we managed to understand, give publicity, help create a criminal case under investigation and conduct a full analysis of the movement of cryptocurrencies, which will be very valuable for the court.
More than 2000 hours of my time alone went to work in various areas over 3 years, including numerous consultations in the chat, here you can also add the time of representatives of the IG and people who were involved in the return, some of them are also victims, some are bodyguards, journalists, we remember everyone.
Given the recent growth of bitcoin in more than 5 times since the scam, the value of assets is also growing, in this case, the logical question is, can the court compensate for the lost profit?
The answer is yes, any "lost profits" can be recovered in full or in part.
This means that if 1 bitcoin was stolen from you, which cost 6 thousand dollars, now costs 50 thousand and can be recovered at the current cost, according to our analytics, the money is really enough for full compensation.
With the increase in the price of bitcoin, people began to appear who were not interested in our activities before and do not know the situation at all, some of them are trolls with not entirely clear goals, because of this and for the sake of the users ' peace of mind, the chat was closed, we thought about changing the format, because now the current task is to join the criminal case, since at the moment the damage in the criminal case is approximately 1% of the real one.

- assistance in bringing the criminal case to the end and transferring it to the court (a law was recently adopted, the task of which was to define cryptocurrencies in the legal plane, the law was adopted, the text is available in the chat).
- the court itself and the recovery of money, this is the first such process, so the complexity is quite high, you need to prepare both technical expertise on cryptocurrency and legal arguments, and we know how to do it.

These people will certainly spare no expense in their defense.
Therefore, it is desirable that our hands are not tied all this time, neither in terms of being able to devote enough time, nor in terms of additional legal advice and representation in court, this is only our problem and it is stupid to seek outside help.
