I got lots of answers to my question recently,
Does this forum have a facility to thank respondents or add them to a friend list? I did not see one thanks

There is no thank or like button like the other forums out there, a simple written thank you should be fine. Since you can't give merits for helpful and constructive posts, you can always ask these users for their bitcoin address or check their profiles and tip them a small amount of BTC If you feel like it.

People here on Bitcointalk mostly thank helpful posts through giving them merits[1]. Unfortunately, you don't have any. So like OmegaStarScream said, you either send up some sats as a tip, or just a simple thank you would be enough.

You can't add anyone as friend, you can send merits like others said earlier or just greet them with the good words which encourage them for more good replies and also might create a friend zone for you.

You can send them some merit if you have any, or you can send them some bitcoins if they have an address in their signature, or on their forum profile.

If you are having good terms with a member of this forum by having good conversation/discussion, Giving thanks is enough. We really appreciate it when someone giving thanks after teaching them or giving some information they must know.

Sending merits is also an option if you really like the way he answered or discussed something to you.  Wink

I don't really recommend using sir here in international sections. I think it's kinda disrespecting but from other countries, it's a common thing to call others.

Explaining a joke, especially a sarcastic remark, is something that makes it much, much funnier.

Don't use Sir unless it's really needed...
I know it's sarcasm in the above quoted post, but newbies won't understand it
It's common here on the forum that scammers, spammers and low quality posters are using Sir to help themselves to flee bans or any other type of negative things, or use it when asking for help, to stress their post in a way that would help them get replies or effective help/forgiveness...
So TLDR don't use Sir if possible Smiley

It's a commonly used honorific in countries of the Indian subcontinent, in other English-speaking countries it's a bit odd seeing it being so overused by some people. English isn't my mother tongue and I too find its (over)use kind of jarring, even though where I'm from we use similar honorifics (albeit not necessarily in the same contexts/situations).

You can edit the OP or the posts for that you got answer and write those appreciative words those who helped you in that case it won't be deleted by mods.

I gave you a couple merits to help you get out of newbie hell, so you don't have to wait so long between posts and such, once you reach 30 posts, because you seem like a legit user.. You should be able to give 2 merits now..

Also, if you do not have any merit to give away yourself you can post it to this thread by following the intructions in the OP..
Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source
