if he keeps obstructing and refusing to comply with court orders---especially if he is ordered to appear in court and continues this behavior---he could be held in contempt of court. this carries real jail time up to 6 months per violation, not small fines.

if he defrauded his family and estate, then there can be criminal charges on top of the civil damages. it depends on the strength of the criminal case. civil cases have a much lower burden of proof. on top of the civil damages, i think the kleinmans may be using the civil case as a pretense for discovery of evidence that could lead to criminal charges against wright.

Someone has already come forward to sign one of the addresses that CW gave up as his, so they already have a case against him for misrepresentation and/or being in contempt of court. 

He has enough money to buy decent legal representation and as we know already, the jails are not full of rich people.    If they get a guilty verdict against him, he would end up getting a huge fine or a suspended sentence for being a first offender or some community service.

Note that in the recent copyright application (which anyone can file for around $35), the application showed that Craig Wright claims to be a citizen from Antigua and Barbuda and not from Australia. Likely he renounced his Australian citizenship.

Well this is a funny thread regardless. With the pending discovery and interrogation, CSW will be forced to provide some answers, which I imagine may help those in other jurisdictions being sued by him. I can't see this helping him in his pending litigation in the UK against others.

From what I understand, he was ordered by the court to disclose his bitcoin addresses. One of these addresses he claimed as his was recently signed with a message stating CSW is not the owner. I doubt he will be able to keep up his charade much longer under the U.S. court system. This is a serious matter.

There is no actual word there that Craig Wright will go to jail but that article can just be some additional proof that Craig is not the real Satoshi Nakamoto. Almost 95% I guess of this whole forum believe that he is not the real Satoshi. Will he actually go to jail for this? I don't know the US law, but he'll probably just pay a few grands in fines for wasting court's time, which is like nothing to him.
I don't follow his case closely, are there any things that could actually send him to jail? Would stealing Kleinman's qualify for that? But regardless, things won't change much - almost everyone knows he's a fraud, and those who follow him are either trolls, lunatics or morons.

If it will not do him any harm to pay some few grands for fines how do we think will it affect his reputation, his name, face and credibility? I think CSW is enjoying his media attention and he doesn't care anymore if it will ruin his reputation or not. Because his reputation is already ruined to begin with.    So why not take advantage of what the media is giving to him, right? If the media outlets and other online sites will ignore his existence and don't write anything related to him, maybe he will stop doing stunts and start thinking to live in a faraway place that you never heard of.

It is not about having a prejudice over his personality, some media published that he is the person behind the creation of bitcoin and then he came forward claiming that he is Satoshi and proclaimed that he will provide the evidence that could cryptographically prove his claim, but he chickened out and did not produce any evidence regarding that after years of that claim and so is the reason everyone is skeptical.

I think he is just a fool that is looking for unnecessary publicity, and wants to go jail without committing murder crime because if he was in his right sense, he would not be using such national issue for publicity, now he has gotten disgrace instead of publicity. Right from onset, I never believed him though, who would even believe him anyway, I don’t know why he did what he did, but I feel he has mental disorder, and where I felt they need to take him to be not court but a psychiatric hospital where he would be looked at properly.
