Hello

Anyone know can I add more sockets to s9 control board to add more hash board?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

no is the simple answer.

the older s7's used to run  5 and 6 boards but they went away from that option.

I saw someone controlling 6 boards just fine, he can in fact solder the sockets and the boards will show. I'm not sure about the merits for doing this. In that case i saw, it had the asic boards submerged in a tank. The fans work too fwiw. That particular controller should in theory be able to handle 8 asic boards and 6 fans.

But these controllers are cheap, especially when obtained from used units with damaged asic boards. There is also the annoyance of getting the data cables long enough to accommodate all 8 asic boards.

Do multiple boards don't add.

The old s7 had 6 spots to plug in and you could do 6 boards  and they would hash a little bit less.

Somewhere in this section I posted on doing 6 board s7's  and it would do a little less hash per board.

Not sure where you are, but I've got at least two, maybe three S9 controllers on a shelf. Probably got some of the fully loaded S7 controllers Phil just mentioned also.

Can I use s9 hash boards for s7 controller?

So S7 controller won't take S9 firmware?

no but it's compatible with other s9s and t9s+  and I think maybe r4 and v9

S5 and s7 can swap fw if I remember right,
