In this African Cup final, Senegal is certainly more seeded than Algeria. But behind do not worry for the supporters of Algeria, it's just a revelation as always as always there in the final of a seeded team. Because in the final match later that can prove who can be the champion. So all the defensive teams have the chance to win, even for Senegal or Algeria. Because it is indeed difficult to predict.

Senegal does have a really good FIFA ranking, and it's been generally good ever since their world cup appearance in 2002, but I've got to say that as a team, they've always been slightly overrated in Africa itself. On the international stage, I think they overperform but they're not very much different from many teams if you watch them. Algeria on the other hand play differently, and individual talents probably rank higher on technical levels.

Riyad Mahrez vs Sadio Mane does encapsulate that difference. Good thing I much prefer physicality and daring, which just oozes out of our monster Mane!

That will definitely be the best option if am to chose for my self. Algeria is pretty much the favorite team to win the final because they had played a good and surprised game in this tournament, and in will go with them for the trophy. Been that anything can happen, doesn't aplly to Algeria not wining the finals, had already bet on Algeria and hope to see you all for a drink after the final whistle....

The last time I followed this tournament was when Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o were at the top of their game.

With this year's impressive performance of Salah, many are expecting him to deliver again for his country. Egypt should do well here.

There's not much TV coverage from major sports channel I think.

That's probably going to be their undoing, Algeria have taken a very early lead with just over a minute on the clock.

Still 1-0 for Algeria, and only 15 minutes left. I really think Algeria will win the match.

Congratulations to Algeria but that match was terrible. It was won with one of the luckiest goals you will ever see, Algeria parked the bus after & Senegal through a lack of quality couldn’t find a way through. One of the lowest quality games I can remember.

It was a team effort and everyone did the defending....maybe even packed the bus because they created less chances for themselves...or is this low scoring margin because of the competition ??

Yeah, it wasn't good match to watch. This goal of Algeria is very lucky indeed. Algeria tonight made just 1 shot during whole match in total and it was enough to win. Finals are often not most eye-catching matches, but this one was really bad. Well, congrats to Algeria and for those who supported them.

Without any doubt to me that my national team (Algeria) will win the African Cup this year. maybe our last game wasn't the best but as everyone saw the match yesterday against Ivory Coast, Algeria was so close to score many goals in both half-time many times but luck wasn't really with us but that's okay, and definitely  I will bet for our national team to win this cup

As i said before and with so much faith on my national team Algeria to win the African cup and they didn't fail me, And without having lost a single game since this cup started algerian team crowned as king of Africa after winning against Senegal.
For the match it was really boring, after the first goal scored by Bounedjah in the 2nd minute and it was a strange and lucky goal for algeria. After that goal we didn't see any other chance from algeria and that because the whole team have turned into defenders,  Senegal team tried to score back since that goal even they had a possession of 63% with 12 shots but they failed to score.
So good luck for Senegal in next competitions and congratulations for us.

The luck was always with Algeria. It's their second Africa Cup while Senegal is still devoid of one. No doubt they are a good team but whole of this competition had been a tough call for every of the finalist. Anyway congratulations to the wining side.

In general, I found the whole tournament really boring... Even the final was a bad game with a score of 0-1... The African cup always had interesting matches. I hope that next time it won't be so boring as it was this year.

I agree that the tournament was somewhat boring this year.
