Dear friends,
I transferred an amount of about 0,2Bitcoin from my Electrum wallet using Electrum4.0.
The report says the target is bc1qjg4ax2h7gff0wszjq0jzmv2gwzgtfluzrelf59 .
But that is not the target I intended!

Now I would like to know, where my money landed. Can anyone help me?

This is the Blockchain-report: https://www.blockchain.com/de/btc/tx/a98e202a5a2425c48e704f18d909acd75e757db6e7db49b1edba7fcbb624110e

Thanks for any help or advice!

Thanks for your response!
Do you have a link or something, which gives more information about the target side, eventually identifying it as phishing side?

Now I see, that my mistake was to download Electrum 4.0 , wich is the fake or phishing frontend.
As the transaction was already one month ago, my money is lost.  Cry

Bad luck for me.
And quite expensive experience.

There is no Electrum 4.0 version like you said in the post above so there is no need to prove anything. Unfortunately you have downloaded a fake wallet and your bitcoins are now in the possession of the hacker.

The latest Electrum release is 3.3.6. Make sure you bookmark the official page - https://electrum.org/#download
In the future download only from the official page and also make sure to verify the signature before doing anything else. It takes only a few minutes, is easy to do and will give you a piece of mind.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately I learned that too late.

Is there some countries police investigating this fraud? Or is that a crime without risk?

At least I like to file charges.

Thanks again for your answers!

You can try to report to your police department, but I doubt this will get your money back. What I advised to all victims of this Electrum hack is to try unite and jointly attempt to do something to try to find this hacker/s.

Just recently one research is show that over 800 BTC is stolen, but that number is probably much bigger and constantly would increase. At current price it is $10000000 if we asume amount is close to 1000BTC. Individual cases probably do not interest anyone, but a group lawsuit against an unknown person or criminal organizations would definitely make sense.

But considering how things stand in crypto world, you are probably right, this is "crime without risk".

Thanks again!

I filed the case to the German police. If anyone else from Germany has a similar case, please feel free to contact me and we can try to bundle our cases.

If I get further useful information I will publish it here!

Even if I don't get the money back, I would like it, if these people would get some kick into their...

@franzjaeger, found this thread looking for clues on why I got my bitcoin stolen. Connected the dots and learned the hard way, the same happened to me (also in Germany). If you have any news following the filing of the case, please let me know !!!
