Look at the growth of numbers  Shocked .

The last time I heard of it, it was only 2 universities (Ateneo, FEU and UST) but I know NEM is doing regular seminars and conferences and mostly they targeted universities especially last year if I'm not mistaken.

Not shilling for NEM, I don't even have XEMs lol right now lol, but no doubt they are really active here in PH for years.

I have several known friends from 4.) UMAK and 6.) JRU. Don't know when the course was implemented by these schools but most of them don't even know even small stuff about crypto is lol. Yes, the course is optional and not part of their secondary subject but it's weird they didn't encounter it at least even by small chance.

Yeah right and hopefully by next year more list of schools/universities to add. We really can't ignore the future all we have to do is accept and support it.

As everything is getting integrated into the blockchain, the need for blockchain developers were also found high. This seems to be the tremendous increase in number of institutions starting the courses for blockchain education.

Philippines being a country with more usage, support and acceptance of cryptocurrency too seems a reason for such a fast development in the blockchain development among the Asian countries even though there were more countries that are highly adoptive to technology.

I'm glad to see that Philippines is heading to the right direction. I mean during the IT boom late 90's or early 2000's Philippines IT sector was really very hot and some of them have migrated to US and even in Singapore. And when Blockchain technology booming, I think this is somewhat a second coming to the IT market and could bring good future for those blockchain technology aspirants.

I often read about blockhain and cryptocurrency in the Philippines, for me it is very high for the current fillipina government response to crypto. I am sure this is one thing that is very useful for the people.
I also hope that other countries that oppose Fillipina can work together to develop crypto for the future for the general public and can boost the country's economy, keep the fillipine.

This goes to show that block chain is being acceptable nowadays to Filipino people. The fact that payment is now being digitized, it is a great possibility that in a few years time, block chain technology will be taught in all the computer schools in the country and will be utilized by all in the payment of goods and services.

They are really friendly with crypto and blockchain technology. But I think they're on the right track. Blockchain technology currently has a lot of potential to be exploited by talented people.
The current crypto market is really missing the blockchain engineers. In the future, the country of the Philippines will be a place to provide talents to the blockchain.
It was a great step for them. I congratulate them, their country will advance in the future.

It doesn't have to be NEM but as long as its blockchain some stuff are intertwined with other blockchains as well which means they are getting nem blockchain education but getting a broad understanding of blockchain in general. For example I am sure while teaching nem blockchain they teach decentralization as well which exist in almost all blockchains so they now know bitcoins decentralized nature as well thanks to it, or they teach how mining or staking works which they can then apply to other coins as well.

In short, this might be just a NEM blockchain course but in the end they are getting a general blockchain course as well and doing it in a national scale for the young generation that will eventually grow up and start working and will have investments which could be to crypto thanks to these courses.

This is what I'm expecting it to be, to touchbased not just NEM blockchain, but blockchain technology in general. I know that Filipinos are technically inclined, so this news is really welcoming as it exposed those millennials and who knows, they might fall in love with this technology.

And there are a lot of opportunities here, not just locally, but in abroad. There are even reports that the current workforce is short of jobs relating to crypto or blockchain, so this is a great chance for Filipinos to curve out their future as well with this technology.

I am still trying to find out what really triggered the interest of Philippines in blockchain technology, because they are one of the countries that are very friendly with cryptocurrency and it is very amazing that they are seriously encouraging their citizens by creating a learning center for the use of blockchain technology.

This is a very good move for them , as their higher institutions will really have influx of students from other parts of the world that are interested in learning blockchain, which means there will be more money added to their economy through their educational institutions. This is a wise country I say, instead of U.S and China to explore some of these opportunities too, they are busy everywhere going against cryptocurrency and frustrating its usage.

It nice to hear that schools in the Philippines are having courses about blockchain so that it will reach the new generations and for them to also understand the blockchain technology better. To be honest, I didn't expect that Philippines is a very blockchain friendly to the point that it is included in schools courses. Kudos and keep it up.

It is good for our countrymen and even us here in this forum. Taking up this course would affect also the capability of FIlipinos to adapt profound knowledge regarding with blockchain services. Maybe, this can be also a huge step to eradicate the alienation of Filipinos when it comes in global trends. It may be our first step to become blockchain oriented as well as we never been saying here a low quality poster. I think it must be required soon before a manager will be hired in a project.

It nice to hear that schools in the Philippines are having courses about blockchain so that it will reach the new generations and for them to also understand the blockchain technology better. To be honest, I didn't expect that Philippines is a very blockchain friendly to the point that it is included in schools courses. Kudos and keep it up.
Soon we will have our own local exchanges and its amazing how cryptocurrency works in my place. NEM Philippines are working hard for this, that’s why I keep on supporting them because they started this without having any fear. I did regret not to join the NEM Philippines before, but I’m happy that they are in good place now.

Philippines is really a crypro friendly country, and in fact government allow blockchain courses in some Universities,
List of Universities Offering NEM Blockchain Courses in the Philippines

There is something fundamentally wrong with this statement of yours. There has never been any hindrance in any country where governments stop people from studying anything related to cryptography or blockchain. But studying either of these two subjects is not synonymous to studying 'cryptocurrencies' per se.  Many of the university courses you listed are just light courses that gives you a basic overview of what Blockchain is, rather than focusing on core development skills that are needed to be an all round blockchain developer.

At present basic learning is a must, and universities providing the same is really appreciable. It isn't that easy to get core elements to give exercises and make students understand about blockchain. Even to the tutors it'll be something new, what's been laid as a base will flourish with time as each and everything is getting tied up with blockchain.

I hope I can see our Universities too ere in our city to open up these courses or we will get behind again in some other point. I don't see UP in the list, what's wrong to the number 1 university? If they follow most of the local universities will follow too, they because are the symbol of others.

Not heard of it until reading this, but this is awesome blockchain technology is not going anywhere. Any country who adopts it is right path and the first to be benefited from the one of the greatest invention of the century. I wonder why these universities are more focus on NEM blockchain rather than other blockchain like Ethereum, maybe they dig in to the fundamentals and saw potential of NEM technology.

Look at that, blockchain is already admitted in universities. Even if it is strictly NEM Blockchain that they are catering, it is generally a great step forward for blockchain. At the very least, students will now be exposed to this technology. It is very laudable for Philippine universities to be this open-minded. And for all we know, nobody can talk of blockchain without ever mentioning Bitcoin. This is going to be a great promotion as well for BTC.
