If you really are 13 years then you are very lucky here among a lot of us. I have nothing to say you about the Bitcoin you bought (HODL or sell) but I am glad that we have such younger people interested in Bitcoin. How much money are you actually looking to spend and what would happen if you lost everything?
One piece of advice, do not believe in any price predictions, no-one can ever know for sure if you're going to make profit or not.

For all we know, the price drops back to $2000 tomorrow. Sure, it's unlikely, but it can always happen.

My suggestion would be to just start slowly accumulating BTC and keep it regardless of what the price does.
Only spend whatever money you can lose and do it with the permission of your parents of course. Maybe even involve them in the process and try to explain it to them.

Now, I don't know how you've gotten that money, but I highly suggest using money you've actually worked for (if that's an option, since you're only 13).
The reason why I'm saying this, is because that way, you would generally be a little bit more careful about investing it. It's pretty painful to lose money you've worked hard for, so you'd be more careful with it.

I assume you already know not to keep money on exchanges? What kind of wallet would you be using?
Make sure there's no malware on your PC & only use trusted exchanges.

Yes, that will be a good option for you to sell bitcoin at $20,000, but you need to have patience because we don't know when bitcoin price can hit that price. The only matter why people cannot take a bigger profit is because they are too greedy and don't have the patient to wait for a while. They want instant money by holding bitcoin in a short time. If you can stay calm and enjoy the ride, you will have a chance to sell bitcoin at $20,000. But you will have more option to sell bitcoin when the price hit $13,000-$15,000 because if the price reaches the highest price, it will go down for a while so you can buy more bitcoin. But that is only if you have skills to analyze.

Some expert says if you know the future or the next price from the investment place that you choose then when you spend money for it you are really intend to invest but if you spend money for the place investment then you didn't have a predict price or you don't have a strategy for your investment then you are in gambling.

The strategy is really needed when you start to invest, don't only choose a coin randomly and don't choose to hold it for time and a price that you don't specify. You have a good startegy so as you will get benefit when bitcoin price touch $20.000 don't be greedy to want more to get profit, usually this is often to occur to some people and honestly ends up with regretting.

13 years old? May I ask where you bought your coins from? Most exchanges doing KYC/AML level verification have age restrictions in place to prevent people of your age to use their platform.

Dream big. Aim at $100,000 which shouldn't be that much of a problem considering how young you are. By the time Bitcoin hits that price target you have more economical experience and a better state of mind when it comes to utilizing the wealth you have managed to built up.

I was 14 when I started in bitcoin and I don't know how you bought those coins (I couldn't find an exchange to get them from when I was 14 - I had to earn some instead).

I'd say, don't aim for $20000. I think it might be much more reasonalbe to wait until we go over there. I think that spike is going to be huge like the one over $10k and it might go up to $21k and you've missed out a bit of profit.

You should be holding much higher than $20k. $20k was the previous peak. Look at the history of bitcoin. Every time Bitcoin hits the previous peak, that's when the price gains really start. If you sell at $20k, you'll miss out of most of the gains you could get in the months that follow. I'd put your sell target at more like $50k if you want to be safe. Personally I think this market cycle (ending I think probably late 2020) will go over $100k. My personal plan is to sell most of my Bitcoin in the $80k's and $90k's.

$20k is the start of the real gains, not when anyone should be selling.

Since you bought it at $9,200 then it definitely makes sense to HODL it until it reaches a decent price. But remember that don't expect too much price target as it might give you regret and disappointment.

I will give you 2 pointers.

a) If you see profits, don't hesitate to sell "if you are aiming to take advantage of the possible price swings". Since you are already over a year studying how BTC price behaves, you should now at least know how to consider some factors before selling. You will not risk decent money after all, at your age, if you don't know what you are doing. You can make a re-entry anytime.

b) If you are eager to wait for that $20,000 then it's up to you. In price ups and downs, you must force yourself not to dump it but instead just continue the accumulation. It will take time and needs tons of patience. And honestly, we don't know here if after reaching $20,000, you will really sell or will be carried away for much higher expectations.

Its good that you have goals and although you are just 13 years old, you have a matured financial mind. Dont worry about the value much because you choose the right crypto to hold. If you have that goal value, you should also have a lots of patience with you. Crypto requires a lot of patience so better have it then your goal will soon be reached.

The buying price is cheap, and that target price is possible so I suggest that to hold more bitcoin. I'm amaze knowing your age, I wish also to start on that age because of good opportunities. You have more time to make mistakes I guess, so have the courage to take the risk and always be prepared. Your age is not a limit factor for you not to invest your money in Bitcoin and crypto currency in general and you even see that as at the time  you bought your Bitcoin and its current market price you are now in profit of over $2000 if am not mistaking. Is not a bad idea if you intend to hold for a period pending when its value reach your  target of $20,000.

For sure you would not have bought the 1 bitcoin with your own money because no one can earn this much by the age of 13. But the good thing is that you have bought 1 bitcoin. Now you need to forget it and check it again once you are 26. You will be millionaire at the age of 26, provided you are not tempted to sell it in between these 13 years.

Hello, 13 years old is quite young to invest in something. You should consult with your parents or older family members before deciding to buy Bitcoin.

The price of bitcoin is still far on your expectig price. But, there still a chance that bitcoin will reach the price of 20000$. It is good at the very young age you already discover bitcoin because I just started investing and buying bitcoin few years ago. Bitcoin is also good to hold especially if you looking for long term investment. I also hold bitcoin and one of plan in bitcoin is to sell when the price surpass its all-time high price.

First of all it's great to see such a young person investing into bitcoin and taking the time to research and understand the technology.

My advice to you would be hold onto any Bitcoin that you can get your hands on. At this point in time, bitcoin is still experiencing a huge amount of price corrections and will continue to do so until mass adoption occurs, which is still a very long time away. Due to this, the price will continue to increase as demand increases day by day with more and more people being educated about cryptocurrencies around the globe.

The most important thing I can tell you to do is stay strong during periods of dropping value, something I learnt to do the hard way.

You should be careful with your decisions. Ask for advice from older family members.

You are a very lucky kid. You are younger, but you are aware of the technology. You can hold your bitcoin and don't sell it right now, and I think that is a good idea while you prepare your study. God, I wish I had entered into cryptos in your own age. I assume your parents pay everything for you which means you can take more risks and have more free time than the average joe who has bills to pay.

I'd say to invest some of your pocket money every month into BTC and then try to do as many bounties, faucets etc you can in your spare time to accumulate btc and other alts for free. Little by little they will add up and who knows, maybe by the time you are an adult you will have amassed a small fortune! Don't forget though to diversify. Investing in BTC in your age is cool but make sure to invest in yourself too! Study hard and learn skills that you can use to bring food on the table, regardless of BTC's price

I would suggest just holding for now. You are only 13, if you have bitcoins right now that means 10 years from now if bitcoin reaches over 100k+ which is a great possibility you will be rich and be able to pay for a lot of stuff with it.

Looking at the value you've bought your BTC, it will be really wise to hold it for some time because at this moment, Bitcoin's value is just above the $8K mark. So literally you've already lose some. Another thing, why settle for just the $20K mark? If i may suggest, just hold it for about 10 years from now. Who knows, Bitcoin maybe worth way, way more than just $20K by then.

I think he would even have no choice right now than to keep accumulating his coin because of his age and exchanging the coin on exchanges, I am not sure of this, but I think i read someone where they say people of his age may not be allowed to transact on any of these exchanges except he transfer the coin to someone’s wallet which is quite risky to do.

He might eventually watch the price of bitcoin grow to $50000 in future which I am sure that before he is even up to age, bitcoin might have even grown to $100k or $150k. Well if they are easily affected with the fud then that would be there natural reactions and they are prone to huge losses since they can't control their emotions to contradict the market situations. Firstly, when compared to crypto volatility gold looks very stable, but outside the crypto market gold movements of 2-3% are considered big and they do affect whole industries relying on the metal.

Not all 13 year olds have that mindset but we need to try to teach them how important is to save and to invest, in my country almost no one has any savings and even the smallest inconvenience can cause a crisis in the family and this not only affects families with low incomes, this affects everyone, most of my friends have no savings and I know they spend their money in many things they do not really need, and without any savings then you cannot invest and improve your economic situation.

I am hoping you are still holding on to your 1 Bitcoin despite if the market is sometimes discouraging. Since you bought yours at the $9,200 level, selling it now can mean a loss of more than $1000 which is not a good proposition to consider, after all Bitcoin is meant to be hodl for some time and you must generate some profit in order to make this adventure worthwhile. Your situation is a lot better than those who entered Bitcoin when it reached its highest of almost $20K and I am sure many of them right now are looking forward to 2020 halving that can push the price higher than we expect. We do not know what happened to the op since it seems he only created his account to ask that question but two positive days was all what it was needed to change his position from a losing one to a winning one, he bought at 9200 and the price is above 9500, while it is nowhere close to the profits he was expecting since he wanted to wait until bitcoin surpassed its ATH, at the same time he is experiencing profits above 3.5% and starting your trading career with a profit is always many times better than starting with a loss.
