A short video tutorial on building LONG from source
https://youtu.be/H5FkmPRJiEo

longcoind looks for longcoin.conf not in the system directories but in the current working directory.
Best way is specify the option -conf=/Full path/longcoin.conf when starting
If this option is specified, then the path to the data directory with the wallet can be written in longcoin.conf
via option data=/Path to data/

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Only one enthusiast programmer thinks over and writes protocol modifications, user-friendly GUI for the blockchain-messenger (with pictures, emoticons, music, etc.). It's amazing that updates exist. The project started as a commercial one, the money ended a LONG time ago (a year ago Undecided), now it is "open source" for the crypto community.

Understood & thanks for the reply.  I apologize if I came across as a dick. I really was trying to check in with the project. I have more than 25 million of these coins so I have a vested interest.

I like the initial use concept of the coin. Many coins have launched and now they say:"...so now what can we find as a use case.."

There may be a real world fit for such an encrypted, private, unable to be intercepted messaging service.  I am thinking messaging between banks and customers or maybe get the CIA or Mr. Putin to adopt the technology for high level distant communication without cell phones.

Can this message service be used now, today and if so, can I test it?

Also, it seems a lot of your tweets, updates, Discord and your exchange, among others, are coming across entirely in Russian.  I am in the USA and it feels strange. A LOT of coins are started in other non-English speaking parts of the world but they are almost always translated to English. Sure, I can use Google Translator, but you get what I mean.

If the team needs help with some of the written English content, just let me know what you wanted to say, I could put it in proper English using proper grammar, spelling etc.

What do you think?

What do you think?
In the near future (we believe) large updates will be tested. If everything goes well, then we will try to actively attract users, because It should already be convenient to use the network, as in the FB or VK. Anonymity will only grow with an increase in the number of users, as in the TOR network.

The architect and start-up customer of the network development is Russian-speaking, so the main community was formed in Russian. If possible, we respond (in discord and here) in English, materials are translated, but of course not everyone is fluent in the international language.

Yes, we may need help (when adding languages) when there are new reference materials for new versions of the client.

At the moment, the main help is needed in any stable ASIC on sha256, even the minimum power, because "ours" periodically fall off and the network can sometimes get stuck.

Version 0.7a: Start of transition to a new client with social network functions:
- A test version of longcoin-java (Posting Manager on the LONG NETWOR network) with data encryption and a wysiwyg content editor. Operated by
 autonomously or in conjunction with a standard wallet;
Attention! In this version of longcoin-java, the rendering of external links is fully automatic for the testing period. After testing is complete, the rendering of external links will be allowed only by direct indication of the user for each transaction or through the global flag in the security settings.
To upgrade to version 0.7a, you must transfer the entire data directory to the new version directory.

Are you saying that now the Long Coin can send Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media messages thru the blockchain?

If that is so, I am so glad I mine so many coins!

Now LongCoin through the blockchain can develop as an unclosable non-blocking social network. No government can control or ban the exchange of information. You can send any messages within the LongCoin network (there is also a common "wall", like a global general open chat), including with pictures, sound files, and you can also attach external links with temporary files.

Why to promote in LongCoin? Bitcoin is just a coin. LongCoin is a coin + decentralized developing social network infrastructure. None of this has been implemented before. Durov and Zekerberg will never be able to solve problems with the government, this is impossible. The most important governments in the world will always dictate their will to maintain control of the IT community. But it’s already obvious that they lost this technology war. Bitcoin is an example.

Not! In our network it is impossible to establish who communicates with whom !!! Contact fact is hidden. Messages are ordinary transactions, like money transfer. Plus data!

Version 0.7c:
- Suppressed preloading external content;
- Added the ability to embed links to YouTube in the posting editor;
- Fixed problems with non-encrypted transmission through the “Answer” context menu. Now, if it is possible to encrypt a private message, the recipient address in the posting editor becomes uneditable and is highlighted in green.
