Paxful offers a variety of cash related ways to buy bitcoin - everything from cash in person or via mail, to cash deposits to bank accounts via Western Union and MoneyGram. I can't speak for how many traders or how much liquidity there is in such markets in the UK, but it is a fairly widely used platform.

The other option would be to look in to a decentralized exchange such as Bisq.

I believed it's really common that all crypto ATM's is usually associated with fees higher than the average fees when dealing in exchanges but how much "fees" we are talking here pointing to Crypto ATM's there?

If using ATM's will save you from hassle way, trouble or risks and will give you convenience, comfortability and instant transaction, then I think you should consider using those especially if the fees don't have a small difference to an online exchange service.

Why not buy directly on exchanges?

Did you try to check the fee again from ATMs? according to https://coinb.in/#fees the recommended fees drop to 17 Sat/Byte so I think if you start to buy bitcoins right now on ATMs the fees might be low.

Depends how much and where about you are, plenty of reputable traders you can deal with but many have a minimum trade value

One value source of trading comes from trading that are done at Bitcoin meetups. Most of the regular people there are trustworthy and known by most of the other people that come to these meetups. I have managed to hook up with some very influential traders at some of these meetups and I trade with some of them on an informal basis. You just need to establish some trust and a lot of these meetups are held in public venues with loads of CCTV coverage.
