There is no way of getting those funds if you sent to them except having to arrest the scammers. Additionally, there is no possible punishment that could hurt them since you don't know who they actually are.

Maybe you could report their groups and channels to telegram as scam so that they (telegram team) can mark their channels as scam.

Nothing. There is no way you can get your funds back especially in Telegram as we can change numbers at anytime and even put a fake identity.
So if you are victim, just say GOODBYE peacefully and say " I SHALL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN" " I SHALL NOT TRUST ANY RANDOM PERSON HERE AGAIN!"
Oh wait, you can report the channel/ group but I don't think it will be taken down, there'll only be a warning on there group (tagged as : SCAM)
other than that let's hope something comes up with Telegram.

The experience is not very happy feeling but the positive thing on this is that you have not lost much money, around 0.5 ETH. I thought all those ETHs (8+) were yours LOL

This kind of frauds used to happen when ICO time were at their peak.

It's really hurting seeing one of the top notch project 03 swap has been imitate and hence funds were stolen and scammed.

The problem with newbies are they keep sending funds to a random generated telegram. Most likely OP always used search on telegram and once see a group with many members there it is. Joined and inquire! As a practice make sure to visit site first and get the social link from there and compare the announcement to other socials chances are the one you ar rin there is fake so make sure to compare all social contents.

Well, it can be pretty hard to navigate in the forum if you are just lurking in it. When you said double, I know that it is definitely a scam, that is like the oldest of all the online scams that I have seen in my time online. Don't go to Telegram altogether because it is a scammer's paradise.

As well as going to the official channel of the token and hope that they will warn people that there is an active scam going. Hoping for a criminal punishment is something that you can just wish for as it will take a lot of your time just for the authorities to take action not unless a lot of people will complain about the scam. Also not only Telegram but I have started to see Discord plaguing with these types of scams on my DMs which is annoying since this is one of the reasons why I am not using Telegram anymore.

Tell us any other stories when you could have caught scammers from a telegram, let alone get your funds back? There is a good suggestion to protect yourself from this kind of scam in the future, just stop being so gullible. Telegram this place has become popular for scams and divorce of this kind of suckers.
But if there are buyers for such a deception, then the offer will always be relevant.
But as it has already been said a million times, tomorrow a new scam will appear, which will promise mountains of buns, and again there will be a line of naive people who believe in miracle profit

It is not new, have many type Fake IDO, ICO, IEO on crypto platform where many people invest their fund for Good profit. This is not danger for Old member but it is danger for Beginner. Some Telegram Channel promote fake, Scam IDO,ICO etc programme on their channel. When i wad a Beginner on Crypto World then i lost my money for this type Programme but now i have some Good knowledge about market.

But indeed now some information from telegrams and official projects, most admins answer there, so the most important thing is to be able to distinguish which ones are real and fake, unless beginners can stay away from telegram because all sources of fraud start there.
Only naive people are targeted by scamers to fall into their trap, IDO is now much in demand because of the sizeable returns so maybe the scamers now continue to attack things like by creating fake telegram groups.

Sorry to see you lost money. It's quite complicated to trust anything in Telegram. For me, I am very careful about my funds when someone invites me to Telegram. Often I have been receiving such messages, but I just report and delete them. Usually, I do not encourage investing in any ICO or IDO, it's quite risky. But if you do, then need to verify everything including the token contract address. You should research from various sources before click sends button. Cryptocurrency is irreversible and we can't do anything once funds out from your wallet. Just receive the message and send money will lead you to loss. However, thanks for sharing, hope other would take a lesson from here and you learn from your past mistake.

If you have the means you can hire people to track these scammers and charge them, but your chances are not good, you just have to charge it to experience, you are already an old member here you should know this I guess you can get scammed and fall to dubious projects even if you have 400 posts here, the scam section is a place that should be included by all members here to visit, so they know how to protect themselves from these scammers.
