This is really a nice illustration and it really gets my attention. Though some of the contents seem not in favor of Bitcoin, still most are considering Bitcoin and Blockchain technology to be helpful and potential in terms of enhancing the financial aspects. I admire Japan who is always open for possibilities especially when it terms of technology that is why I am not surprised that even though they are so small their technology was so advanced. I am looking forward that most of the countries will be open and will embrace Bitcoin in the near future.

And I thought they banned Bitcoin in China, I thought I am mistaken or this is in the past?

I am from the Philippines and I am waiting, having a thought that President Rodrigo Duterte has a statement about this, but I guess not. Bitcoin is not illegal here but I want to hear his statement about cryptocurrencies, about decentralization and the Blockchain technology. I like the statement of the President of Brazil, so simple yet so realistic.

Great work, nice infographics...

Due credit is given to cointelegraph. The contents in the OP are not mine. I only edited them a little to properly fit in the post. The source link is at the bottom.

I will try to provide updates if the source adds more. It is much better if more leaders will have statements on the matter. This will give us an idea albeit rough as to how their country takes on the rising popularity and influence of Bitcoin.

And I thought they banned Bitcoin in China, I thought I am mistaken or this is in the past?

Most of the statements are made in 2019. There are least 3 that were made in 2018 including Xi Jinping's.

However, the latest news in China, the other day to be exact, regarding Bitcoin is a positive one.

Another article from cointelegraph has it that a second court in China, the Hangzhou Internet Court, has effectively ruled on Bitcoin as a "virtual property". Thus the legality. The People's Bank of China, the central bank of the country, did not oppose. In fact, it affirms that Bitcoin is indeed a "virtual proeprty" but not a currency. Just the same, it is a welcoming news.

I cannot say that President Duterte has or has no knowledge about Bitcoin or crypto but the latest news coming from the Philippine central bank emphasized more on warning the public on the possible risks on the use of cryptocurrency.

The good thing about the situation in the Philippines is that the central bank itself intends to regulate cryptocurrency use. While it is focusing mainly on its use as a technology for payment and remittances and other similar services, there are at least 10 exchanges that are already in existence duly registered with the central bank.

It appears that the country is very much open for cryptocurrency.

It is a bit strange that Germany is not presented as country which is one of the most crypto friendly in Europe, and regarding the payment of taxes as one of the most popular countries in the world. Maybe Dorothy (Angela Merkel) did not say anything about the subject, so there is no material for some nice presentation Smiley

Just imagine if some countries follow Japan, Germany or Belarus example in regulations of cryptocurrency, people would invest in Bitcoin with much more confidence then now. Most people, however, blindly believe their systems, and if they say what they are saying all time like broken records, system is stay strong and control is remain on almost full power.

I never trust any government blindly, they often say what the people want to hear, and they actually do something completely different.

I would be curious to see the stance from Canada`s leader, I know we accept it to pay taxes in one city. We also see it as a asset and have to claim it and pay taxes on it, thankfully Trudeau will be gone this year.

I would also like to know Germany`s stance, Israel`s and Britain's

I don't mind. For as long as it's Jair Bolsonaro who's talking.  Grin

A lot of these leaders talk about blockchain and not cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, which is a totally different thing. They speak about that "blockchain technology" that gets hyped by big companies and has nothing to do with decentralization. Do you remember the "blockchain not bitcoin" motto? Some leaders hold this opinion too.

I don't think there are many leaders who are truly crypto-friendly, but crypto might not need any official blessing from the government - all we need is for the government to just keep ignoring it like they did in the past.

It is nice to see that the country leaders themselves speak of their idea about Blockchain and Bitcoin. Although it is mostly blockchain that is really mentioned here. However, accepting the reality that Blockchain is here and that it could give potential advantages to the people and the country itself is an indirect acceptance of the rise of Bitcoin. Bitcoin being the banner carrier of the Blockchain technology.

I know advisers are surrounding these leaders. Most of them might be stating things that are under the instruction of their advisers. This goes to show that Blockchain and hopefully Bitcoin have already reached the ears of policy makers and influencers of the different leaders of the world.

The compilation is indeed interesting. Still, make sure you don't forget that they are politicians, meaning that what they say is not necessarily what they mean or what they'll do. Some things are said only for image, some others (like Trump) have to give the businesses the feeling that the fiat is still strong and the one that matters.

I would not take them too serious, neither the good messages, nor the bad ones. The important part is that they do talk about this.

Some things are said only for image, some others (like Trump) have to give the businesses the feeling that the fiat is still strong and the one that matters.

This is enough to get my thoughts together and be reminded that 9 out of 10 statements coming from a politician are either not meant or meant to please some sponsor. But this I cannot say with Trump's. The man seems to speak whatever in his mind. However, the words coming out seem to say that the mind is not so beautiful either.

Quote

And this is enough to at least make the people feel that blockchain or Bitcoin is valuable enough to be given a word by their leader, albeit hollow. Because whether we admit it or not, the words coming from our leaders seem to carry some weight.

Good compilation of quotes, it's interesting to read what leaders of various countries had said about Bitcoin.
I'm surprised about Belarus positive stance towards crypto. Their president Lukashenko is known as last dictator in Europe, so for me it's a bit strange that he don't want to ban Bitcoin or something. And yeah, soon they will open nuclear plant which will make much more electricity that they, so using it for Bitcoin mining sound like a perfect business plan Cheesy.
And phrase of Brazil president looks epic. Actually, it represents attitude towards crypto of many countries in a nutshell. And I think that for politician it's better to avoid such phrases. It just shows your ignorance and lack of knowledge. Better say nothing than this.

Excellent illustration!!

Sadly, I belong from an orthodox country where age old politicians only see risks in the opportunities and cryptos are made illegal. Not all leaders are capable enough to understand the power of cryptos that's what is pretty much evident in your illustration. While countries like Japan legalized bitcoin and crypto assets, we still have countries like India and Brazil resisting its progress!

But I am happy that cryptos have started getting attention from the world leaders and eventually it will lead to somewhere, either positive or negative. A conclusion is better than having confusion.

Great compilation. I love Japan's Prime minister. Once I see great nation supporting an innovation, I really don't care about less technological world. We know what Japan represents in terms of innovative technology as compare to India and Brazil.

I fined it funny and lack of ideas when I see some countries making bitcoin illegal in their so called country. Since most well-known leaders have acknowledge cryptocurrency and know her uniqueness and usefulness cos we are now in an era of ``digital world''
