Hello,

I have been working for over a year full time on a secure email solution.  The first six months was research: looking at what's out there and thinking.  Since October I started coding the prototype. My solution solves the problem with key exchange and javascript backdoors. It's not a gateway/proxy/server solution, but is strictly a client-side product.  Anyone can use it, and the recipient of the email does not have to be a member of the system.  My goal was to make it easy receive end-to-end encrypted email.  No browser plugins are necessary. Can be also used to transfer large files as attachments.

I will tell more to interested parties. Looking for either investors or corporate clients who want to try it out. I have been bootstrapping the whole thing on my own until now.

Thanks,
Boris

Maybe first make it open source, and share the link to the repository? I don't think it's invest-able otherwise, especially when you're asking on a Bitcoin forum. Bitcoiners usually stand for open source too.

The product is now in stealth mode.  I need to protect my IP at this early stage.

> I don't think it's invest-able otherwise

Why not? I will show the source to interested parties who sign an NDA.

One of the best secure e-mails out there is ProtonMail.

They have a free version, but it survives basically based on donations and people who pay for their services (which are expensive).

From their website:

Today, we help our community of millions of users secure their private data online. More than 10,000 supporters have assisted us in this mission by donating to make this project possible. Thanks to your support, we are continuing to develop state of the art email privacy and security technology from our home base of Geneva, Switzerland.

You have a lot of competition here.... And even for protonmail is hard. They are based in Switzerland, what means that all user data is protect by Switzerland privacy laws, which are very strict. it is also open source...

What would be new in the service you are proposing?

Edit: I am shocked, ProtonMail raised $ 500.000 through crowdfunding!
https://protonmail.com/blog/protonmail-raises-a-record-500000-through-crowdfunding-to-disrupt-the-state-of-email-communications/

Good luck

I'd like to try out your email service. What level of anonymity does your email service offers? To access the service, do we have to open a domain via a web browser or emails can be sent/received using a command line? I can certainly give you constructive feedback on your service.

Protonmail really is your benchmark, but there are plenty of other free services out there. Tuta is one for example, very easy. A/I is another. I believe they both also connect through Tor.

Sigaint was really popular too so if you want to make a service that competes, learn from what they did best (or follow their communities).

I agree open source makes you different though.

For a business/investment proposal I would say that your sales pitch is leaning more into a scam proposal rather than a real investment opportunity. Instead of explaining more in detail of what your email solution should be you are instead forcing people who are interested to talk privately more about it. Why not explain your email solution more in your thread? Like explain how it's better compared to outlook as a benchmark for a lot of companies now.

ProtonMail requires the sender and recipient to be both using ProtonMail.  Also, a separate ProtonMail email address must be used, instead of say GMail. Also, ProtonMail, when used in the web browser is vulnerable to javascript backdoors. My solution doesn't have all these downsides.  I can't discuss more in an open forum, because I want to protect my IP.  If you are a large corporation or an investor, then I would like to talk to you privately.

Joel, I sent you a PM.  To answer your question: the service doesn't ask you for any personal information except your email address and recipient's email address.  In my current prototype, you must have a GMail email address at the moment, but in the future versions I can support any email account for sending. The sender also must authenticate with a special mobile app, which means that the sender must a have a phone with either WiFi or a data plan.

I will adapt my solution to command-line if necessary, for corporate clients who want it that way. At the moment, it's browser based. It doesn't rely on DNS to be legitimate. The DNS could be spoofed.

... explain how it's better compared to outlook as a benchmark for a lot of companies now.

Outlook connects to a mail server and downloads email from it, through either IMAP or Exchange protocol.  Many vendors offer plugins to enable encryption and decryption. The problem is that there is no guarantee that the recipient of the email uses Outlook and has the same matching configuration.
