Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I saw the price at $32,000.00 on Coindesk a few years ago for about 1 minute. Obviously it was a big but it was amusing at the time.

Seems like this was due to the CloudFlare outage earlier which seemed to be affecting half the internet. ALERT: Due to a cloudflare outage, we're getting bad data from our providers, which is showing incorrect crypto prices. Calm down everyone, Bitcoin is not $26. At least this was just a news site reporting the wrong price, and not a proper flash crash like the one we saw on Kraken a month ago, where someone put in a sell order of 1,100 BTC at the wrong price and dropped the price of BTC on Kraken to $101 for a couple of minutes, losing around $12 million in the process.

I don't think there was any sell order which got hit at that price because that is only likely in small exchanges where books are not huge and for sure coindesk is not taking price from such small exchanges. It might be some API failure while grabbing the price from third party exchange/service or just a visual bug while they were working on some of their scripts.

Nothing to be alarm here, not the first time to see Coindesk having this kind of glitch. Interestingly, Cloudfare has an outage. Supposedly to protect their costumers, but they themselves has the issues. If
I'm not mistaken they reported that they've been down at least 18 minutes so many websites including Coindesk and Coinmarketcap and even this community was affected.

This is hilarious. I am sure it is a Bug. Just know checked Bitcoin price on Coindesk and it is showing as per the market. I was thinking what would have happened if someone accidentally believed the price of Bitcoin was $27.00. He might have gone to his favourite exchange in order to make a purchase and found out the right price their. Good, it did not happen to any exchange, such bugs will ruin their business.

Somewhere in 2016 , when the Bitcoin price was approx 270 USD for 2 months, the price for 1 Bitcoin decreased to approx 30 dollars for 10 minutes. I wish I could have bought Bitcoin at that price. It was not possible for me then (I am Romanian). One day after this happened I regretted not being attentive. I would have had now a new home somewhere in Bahamas or in Southern Europe.

Sometime in 2009, BTC value was a couple of cents. If I would have bought some BTC back then and HODLED until now, I would have become a multi-millionaire. Everyone thinks about these things at some point or another in the crypto world. Instead of focusing on the past, it is best to think about the present. Buy BTC now and HODL until it meets your target price in the future. Who knows? It could be worth millions in the future.

Such things happen but sometimes when people are in a hurry or not familiar with situation could actually beleive such prices are real and make total confusion and mess.

Of course there wasn't, that's why I had that second part of the post, it's an obvious visual bug, people are contributing it to cloudflare for some reason but you'd think I'd they couldn't access and of their services they pull price from it would give a null.

Yeah, I tried an experiment to open all my "Super Favourites" bookmark list in simultaneous tabs just to see who was on Cloudflare and who wasn't... very interesting results that clued me in onto which sites I should probably consider unfollowing! I'm surprised Kraken still even allows those kinds of sell orders. As of even last year Bittrex and Poloniex fixed their markets so that you couldn't do orders more than 5% in any direction. Makes sense I suppose to prevent mistakes or those type of flash crashes. I'd ask for 2FA confirmation of abnormal orders, but then knowing people and how they still manage to enter wrong wallet addresses with confirmation emails...

The bug that happened on coinmarketcap before did affected much the market than this bug on coindesk. in all seriousness though these visual bugs happen and are nothing to give a second thought about.
Yeah and it's fixed already. I am sure it is a Bug.
It's a bug obviously and it's posted from one source which is their main twitter handle.

Haha, interesting. I once saw my CryptoCompare portfolio go up to $30 million in value. Not sure which coin was causing that, but was fun to see.
