Have you checked the charts recently? The alts are not really going down. They are going up, but not as fast as Bitcoin. During the last three months, Ethereum has gone from $100 to $222 per coin, and Litecoin has gone from $30 per coin to $96 per coin. But it is true that Bitcoin has risen by a larger percentage. Now you can't say that the alts are going down, when they gave anywhere from 100% to 330% returns during the last three months. Some of the alts (such as LTC) has risen even more than that of BTC.

If after the bear market the tokens are actively traded today with more than $1M volume per day, that token will live long for the next bullrun. But I don't see it happening very soon. But ethereum is an altcoin, you haven't seen on how much Litecoin made during the time of other alts increase. There are specific altcoins that didn't get much attention because they really can't attain to remain to the competition of the market and there's fewer volume for them.

so now I don’t see altcoin as a profitable investment.

I'm still at loss with my altcoins but I'm believing that it will be turning into profit soon.
